good monday morning, everybody, it is now 4:30. i'm john kelley. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. interstate 680 closed in both directions right now. may be that way for the next couple of hours all because of a big rig crash before 10:00 last night in pleasanton. take a look at that. truck hit the concrete divider with such impact it sent debris in the oncoming lane. adding to the complications of the cleanup, the truck was carrying barrels of hazardous materials. the truck driver was having mechanical problems before the accident. >> for other reasons it had went into the center divider and collided into the center divider wall which caused it to overturn on the passenger side. >> cars were involved in the accident, but luckily no reports of any injuries. let's get right to mike right now with the latest. >> i apologize to running to set. but we did just get updated

4:35 am
to do that. and there's also additional ferry service for this week as commuters try to get used to this new road alignment. there is a big bend in there, also a tunnel you'll be going through, that's a new feature. they're expecting that. people are trekking out of this new alignment. people would be slowing down. if you're wondering why they took down doyle drive, this is part of a project going on for some time now and they had to get rid of this old roadway not only because it's old, but because they deemed it to be seismically unsafe. you're going to see today, but the rest still needs to be completed and they expect to have that done, $1 billion project by 2016 at the latest. reporting live at the doyle driveway. bob redell, "today in the bay." the man accused of killing seven people at oakland's oikos university back before a judge today. expected to enter a plea during a court hearing in oakland this afternoon. goh is in solitary confinement

mike's busy this morning. hey. >> yeah, good morning, christina. folks, we did have another accident, i said did because seconds ago chp alerted us the accident has cleared from lanes from westbound 237. the non-injury accident had a couple of lanes tied up for about an hour. almost exactly 30 minutes and still some slow reading out on our sensors. that activity over on the shoulder now and clearing from that highway connecting 880 over toward the silicon valley. we're looking at 680. still closed there at sunol boulevard. both directions of traffic are routed off and back on to the freeway. last night just before 10:00, we had this accident. and that fuel spill and of course all the debris after that cement barrier kind of crumbled as that big rig hit it. that will be cleaned up opening another lane or two hopefully in the next few minutes and then we're looking at 7:00 until they can get things completely cleared. that's the estimate right now. we'll follow that slowdown and, of course, doyle drive still closed.
