5:00 am
good monday morning to you, and thanks so much for joining us. it's seconds away from 5:00. i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> good morning, everybody, i'm jon kelley, and new this morning, interstate 680 moving very slowly right now. and that could be that way for most of the morning all because of a big rig crash just before 10:00 last night. that's in pleasanton. that truck hit the concrete divider with such an impact it actually sent debris over into the oncoming lanes there and adding to the complications of this cleanup, the truck was carrying barrels of hazardous material. the chp says the truck driver was actually having some mechanical problems right before the accident. and at least eight cars were also involved in this accident, but so far, no reports of injuries. and you get the full update. let's check in with mike to see what's happening on the roads. >> yeah, fortunately at least ten cars, and fortunately no major injuries. we do have that closure, though,
5:01 am
that has changed situation southbound 680, sounds like two lanes reopening now on the southbound side at sunol boulevard. the northbound side still has all lanes closed. but sergeant mcdermott says it's a sequence. they're going to open another northbound shortly hopefully in the next 15 to 20 minutes and hope to have all lanes open by 7:00. they have to continue that fuel spill pick-up. what's going on here is folks are routed off the freeway. and back on at sunol boulevard. taking the off ramp and back on, chp is there to make sure folks hit their speeds and jump right back on to 680. adding maybe a minute on to your travel time. we'll watch as the volume builds. back to you, jon. >> thank you, we'll be checking back with you very often. the man accused of killing seven people at oikos university goes back before a judge today. one l goh expected to enter a plea in oakland this afternoon. goh right now in solitary

they've had a lot of patrol cars out here. good morning, laura. just to get traffic up and going. they opened a few minutes earlier about 4:56 at about four minutes ahead of schedule. and here we are on the san francisco side and we're now entering what's the new part of the doyle drive. right here, if you remember 57 hours ago, there was doyle drive was right here. the elevated portion. it's hard to see, but either side of me right now, there's rubble. you've got excavators done doing their job over the weekend. and this is what the alignment looks like. it's level, you're not an overpass anymore and we're going to come up to a bend here. what people are telling us with the project is that as you're commuting this morning, especially if you're coming in from marin going across the golden gate and taking this new doyle drive alignment, you do want to watch your speed it's actually 35 miles per hour, not 40 like it used to be. and asking if it's possible, shift your hours because people are going to be getting used to
