similar attack by forces loyal to president bashar al-assad. activists say pro-government militia and security forces killed at least 78 people including women and children in the central province of hama. the syrian observatory for human rights groups said army troops shelled the area and militiamen armed with guns and knives, carried out the attack. in turkey, secretary of state hillary clinton told a meeting of foreign ministers a transition in syria must include full powers for interim government and free elections. back here at home, opening arguments set for next monday in the child sex abuse case against jerry sandusky. yesterday the last of 12 jurors and four alternates chosen. several have connections to the university something the judge in the case called unavoidable in such a small community. brian mooar reports.

>> reporter: though it once seemed unlikely a judge seated the 12th member of the jury that will decide the child sex abuse case against former penn state coach jerry sandusky. >> the judge is moving the case along quickly. the jury selection process, he didn't waste any time in phase two this morning. >> reporter: juror 12 was seated before lunch. a day-and-a-half after jury selection started. that silenced those who believed it was impossible to find a jury in a small community with such close ties to penn state and its legendary football team. the judge says the ties are to be expected. some of the connections were a little too close. >> 15 people knew a member of the -- a person named on the prosecution witness list. 20 people knew someone on the defense list, which is longer. >> reporter: one juror is a crepe student, another a season

ticket holder, whose father said he called with mike mcqueary. for those who didn't make the jury, mixed feelings. >> i felt like i could have been a neutral juror. >> a little bit thankful i didn't get picked because i do own my own business, would have caused me hard times. >> reporter: sandusky is accused of abusing ten boys over a period of 15 years, charges he has repeatedly denied. nbc news has learned the prosecution intends to kick off their case with a letter written to one of the victims, a document that spells out an inappropriate relationship with the former coach. brian mooar, nbc news. a security breach at two widely used websites compromised the private information of millions of users. the social business network linkedin and online dating service e-harmony. some of the passwords were stolen and millions appear to

have been leaked onto the internet. both companies declined to say how many accounts have been breached. cyber security experts advise that users of both websites should change their passwords immediately, especially if they use the same code to access other online accounts. now here is a look at other story making news in america. in new york, quite a sight the space shuttle enterprise is home for good. crowds watched as the prototype made the final journey hoisted on a barge and onto the deck of the intrepid which serves as an aerospace museum. it took three hours to lift it in space. visitors can see it up close next month. >> in los angeles things got rowdy after game four of the stanley cup final. four were arrested on charges from public drunkenness to battery. police say they are happy most fans behaved. fred roggin will have all the kings/devil highlights coming up

you never know. >> handing mickey a five. >> exactly. good morning, everyone. unfortunately more cool air, more stormy weather into the northwest. some of the worst weather in the entire country can be found in the pacific northwest and, you know, we just got done with a shot cold air. the last thing we needed was a storm to go through. the warm has begun. the storm system is just off the coast. it will move on shore during the day today and behind it tomorrow more cool air and then with that cool air you'll have to deal with the showers you'll see in the afternoon and evening. today a soaking light rain. radar filling in nicely, all the way from the border of california all the way up through oregon, i-5, eugene and portland. tacoma and olympia and through the peugeot sound we'll deal with wet weather. not that windy with this front but temperatures will be cool behind it. still chilly in boise and this afternoon we'll at least warm you up a little bit with

good morning welcome back to "early today." i'm lynn berry. here is some of the top headlines this morning. federal agents arrested dozens of airline workers, baggage handlers at puerto rico's largest airport for snuggling drugs. authorities say it sent millions of pounds of cocaine on commercial aircraft for at least a decade. a dock from japan that is almost 70 feet long washed ashore on a beach in oregon. ripped loose by the tsunami, it took more than a year to make the 5000 mile trip across the pacific. radiation readings on the dock were normal.

if you're just waking up this is "early today." in sports last night in the stanley cup finals the new jersey devils forced the los angeles kings to put away their brooms. here is fred roggin with a look at all the sports headlines. good morning, well, the la kings will have to wait longer to capture their first stanley cup. the devils took game four and they are still alive. there is the cup itself. kings trying to go for the sweep, the devils would not go away easily. game scoreless heading in the third period, new jersey struck first, patrik elias, gave it back 62 seconds later. on the pear play the puck was found to the back of the net. the game was tied at one. however, the night belonged to the devils. david clarkson to adam henrique, who controlled the puck with a skate and fired it past jonathan quick. they later added an empty netter. kings lead 3 games to 1.
