look forward to. good morning to you. 60 degrees in sunnyvale, 57 in san jose, at 56 in livermore this morning. headed toward triple-digit heat in livermore later this week. we'll sort that out for you, just get ready for a hot one. first, here is mike and your drive. >> we take you for 680 to the road crews, they are not there. we have an accident northbound 680 through danville. sounds like a car went off the road. crews are on the scene. no slowing shows up yet but there are major injuries so this could take a while to clear. we'll track that northbound up to the walnut creek interchange. heading south through concord, 680, commute direction fine. 4, westbound, no problems. eastbound we have the closure at somersville. back on the freeway there, some slowing approaching the flashing lights. add a minute or two to your commute eastbound to the bridge. shouldn't be a big deal. >> thanks, mike. five people are recovering from

gunshot wounds after a late night shooting in oakland. >> this happened outside the regal cinema, across from a jazz club. a viewer sent us these pictures, police shutting down several streets in the area during this investigation, police say a total of five people were shot but at this point they do not believe any injuries are life threatening. no word on a suspect. >> a lot of people waking up to a disconnected internet. the fbi cutting that connection last night to protect consumers from a virus. nbc bay area's gene el on how you can stop it. >> like many of us, maria uses the internet a lot. come monday, some of us may have trouble logging on. for six months the fbi has been protecting computers infected with malicious software that changes the way your computer searches. the computers were hijacked by

criminals, infected computers direct users to sites they aren't look forge. scammers made tons of money on ads they posted on the sites. >> absolutely brilliant what these guys were doing. they found a way to tap into one of the most lucrative sources of money on the internet and that's online advertising. >> reporter: the fbi is turning the protections off. if your computer has the malware you won't be able to get on line. theresa hopes she is in the clear. she installed spyware. >> recently i kind of realized that yeah, macs can't get most viruses but doesn't mean there aren't a few. >> reporter: the fbi is directing people for a check-up. >> max says he ran the test. >> i knew it was acting funny. it didn't seem like this was the problem with it. went through and i looked. our server is like point to google and it didn't seem to be

this is only a test. that is the announcement that caltrain riders can expect to hear this week. caltrain gets started with its new realtime and departure system, at least the testing. it's all in an effort to make your trip on the train more predictable. when fully operating it will deliver your arrival and departure information one hour before the train is due to arrive in both visual and audio announcements. the new system ultimately will work with gps technology on caltrain and will transmit information about the train's speed and location to the central control center. from there it will be automatically sent in digital message signs and announcements over the public address system. the information will be available on caltrain's website and passengers, you can sign up to receive a free e-mail or text message. caltrain hopes to have the

system in place by the end of the year. coming up in the next hour we're going to speak to the caltrain spokesperson to find out more about the new system. marla tellez, "today in the bay." >> it's back to business for a south bay church which is dealing with recent break-ins. east san jose's our lady of guadeloupe church holding sunday mass but was missing was the music. thieves had broken in stealing about $25,000 of instruments there. nobody has been arrested. church leaders are upset over all of the hard work that went into acquiring the equipment. >> what they took was a lot of labor and people's efforts, and a lot of people's will to make this happen. that's what was more upsetting. >> right now the church is reaching out to the community trying to help raise money for new music instruments. >> mountain view may kill google's plan to build 11 new

apartments because of owls. the company wants new housing in the north bay shore area. city leaders are concerned about the impact housing would have on the rare burrowing owl. neighbors are concerned about the traffic. the council will consider the plan tomorrow night as part of mountain view's broader development blueprint for the coming decade. >> san francisco apartments could get a lot smaller. the current legal limit in san francisco is 220 square feet. don't stretch out your arms. a group is pushing the board to reduce that, get this, to 150 square feet. >> that's like a big closet. >> a little larger than a standard parking space. talk about studio. the city needs more options for young tech workers. the board of supervisors will take up the matter at tomorrow's meeting. >> enough room for a sleeping bag and a tooth brush. >> don't invite friends over. >> it's 4:37. we check in with meteorologist

going to ask congress to extend the bush era tax cuts to americans making less than a quarter million dollars a year. the obama campaign needs to quickly pivot away from last week's feeble jobs report and it's aiming its guns not only on capitol hill but on republican mitt romney's personal finances. >> he offshores most of his own personal investments, presumably to shield them from taxes. >> i have never known after swiss bank account to build an american bridge, a swiss bank account to create american jobs. >> reporter: romney supporters call it a cheap shot and distraction. >> in terms of governor romney's financial success, i'm happy he is successful. we have a president who has never run a business. >> reporter: on capitol hill on wednesday, the house will try to overturn obamacare, an effort going nowhere because democrats still control the senate. still, it promises to keep the heat up in a town that's already seen too much of it.

business trend in europe because of the debt crisis. here at home t one bit of data point we get this afternoon will be consumer credit and judging from i've been spending it might be higher. the dow is going to start at 12,772 after falling 124 on friday. the nasdaq starts at 2937, after dropping 38. president obama is expected to call on congress today to extend the bush era tax cuts by a year for families making less than a quarter million dollars. white house official says the move should cushion the u.s. economy against the impact of higher taxes next year. the bush cuts are expected to expire january 1 unless congress takes action. republicans have called for the cuts to be extended to everyone. the head of the international olympic committee stirring things up questioning whether fast food and soft drink companies like mcdonald's and coca-cola should be allowed to continue to responsible ter game. comments amid increased scrutiny about the global obesity

last week wasn't that great, we had a foggy start, sunny finish. temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s. today a couple isolated 90s in the warmer spots across the bay. we're talking about isolated 90s, maybe gilroy for example. as you head through tomorrow, foggy start, a sunny finish and temperatures will climb. we're running about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than every single day last week. and look at where we're headed. tuesday into wednesday, temperatures creep up into the upper 90s. then we hold on to mid-90s as we head through the second half of the week, and you know what, i got to tell you the truth, i've been a little bit shy when it comes to your high temperatures, holding back from the century mark for now. as we head through wednesday, peak warmth i believe we're going to have a shot at records, making it warmer than we see this time of year. your full forecast is coming up in a bit as long as you stay with us, you get a check of your drive with mike. right now i'm going to send it back to you. >> since when are you shy, missy? i don't think so.

4:48. you might think you know what your child is doing online. according to a new study you probably don't. a recent study found teenagers are experiencing peer pressure online. three out of four didn't tell their parents when they felt uncomfortable or threatened. it says clearing the browser shift the number one way teens hide their online activity. >> parents need to monitor every aspect of their child's digital device, a mobile phone, lap top or mac, knowing what they are doing and who they are doing it with. >> teenagers may create duplicate e-mail addresses or accounts to hide activity. it recommends apps to keep a closer eye. >> got to stay involved. it is 4:49. still ahead, a teenager getting a starring role on the road to london. her story coming up next. >> plus, you heard of angry birds the game.

doubt. it's 4:52. light traffic. >> smooth sailing. we're closing in on those london olympic games now checking the calendars, less than three weeks away. >> around the corner. the torch is making its way. this morning a bay area teen helped it get closer. sarah williams from pleasanton carried the torch about an hour and a half outside of london early this morning. what a superstar. the 19-year-old was one of 22 americans chosen to run the torch. williams was chosen for her work in organizing her own charity called creative kindness widow nates blankets to foster children. her dad made the trip to england with her. her family was up early this morning to watch her run live online. big smile. >> a big torch too. working out. >> if you can't get to london but you want to cheer on team

traffic is moving smoother than the sensors or that transition there. but we'll look to the south with the northbound route as well. no lanes blocked and no construction crews on scene for the south bay this morning so. a live look outside. we'll see how things are shaping up at the bay bridge toll plaza. this live shot, the east shore freeway visible, no cloud cover and no problem as far as the drive off of the carquinez bridge and across the bay into the city. i'm tracking that accident on 680 in danville. i'll bring you that update. sounds like things are the same with one lane blocked. >> 4:55. a piece of real estate on the san francisco bay has taken a major price cut. red rock island, it's a 6-acre massive rock in the northern part of the san francisco bay. what do you think. the island was on the market earlier this year for $22 million. the asking price has dropped considerably to $5 million. >> that's a monument al mark.
