80 up toward gilman, a live look, that's why we don't have any real slowing. no real volume of traffic rht now. we'll track this, and will have crews on scene. >> thank you, mike. they may be the clues needed to solve the murder of a 5-year-old boy. >> new video of the car, and sketches of a suspect police say they hope will lead to his killer. we have the details this morning, christie? >> this was a case that absolutely stunned neighbors here in oakland. now police believe they could have the key to catching whoever might have shot and killed a 5-year-old boy who died in his father's arms late last year. now police are asking for the public's help. they're releasing a couple sketches, including one of what they believe is a gunman. 20 to 29 years old, six feet tall, 185 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. they say the shooter was with an

african-american female in her 20s, about 5'7", 140 pounds, with dark hair. police also have surveillance tape of what's believed to be the gunman's car. they think it is a 2006 to 2009 fore-door chevy impala, either silver or light in color. last december someone shot and killed little gabriel hernandez jr., we spoke with one neighbor who said he was minutes away from bringing his child to the truck that night. >> it was really disgusting to me, really sad, and it's very unfortunate for the family. it was just an innocent child at their business playing around like a kid. >> reporter: investigators say there may have been other women in that consider with the shooter. police are offering a $25,000

reward for information that leads them to an arrest. oakland police say they plan to talk more about this case a little later on today. reporting live in oakland, christie smith, "today in the bay." san jose police looking for the gunman who opened fire on a man in any 20s on winchester boulevard north of hamilton avenue. the victim still remains hospitalized. doctors say he is expected to survive. no arrests have been made. this is the third shooting in san jose in just two days. meantime, san jose police did make an arrest for a brutal stabbing that involved a samurai sword. they tracked down and arrested a 37-year-old man yesterday. he's accused of stabbing and killing a woman right in front of the dozens of witnesses. investigators are not releasing the suspect's name or a possible motive. the 4:34. for the first time we're seeing pictures inside the unit of the

refinery that caused last week's massive explosion. it's released by an independent agency that investigates major accidents. safety board officials say chevron is cooperating fully with the investigation. well, investigators say they have not pinpointed an exact cause of the fire, they do say they're on the right track. >> the existence of corrosion in an adjacent pipe is something that is suggestive, and we will look at, but we are going to keep an open mind about this and find out exactly what happened with the pipe. dra kosta county health official met with the board of supervisors thursday. more than 9 those people have sought treatment. state lawmakers are calling for an independent seismic rerue of the new eastern span of the bay bridge. the senate transportation and housing committee holding a hearing to look into whether caltrans doctored the results of safety tests on that span. an investigation by "the

screen, downtown hp pavilion will have the circus in town, so expect those cars with a lot of people getting out near the parking lot. over here the construction goes on 85 to 101 in mountainview. there's detour going on. no major delays there. the other thing marked is a concert, this one is called the tour with motley crue and kiss. we're looking out to a live shot, a smooth drive up past university. both directions along the peninsula smooth for 101 and 280. 880 looks smooth as well. that's 880 all the way into oakland without any major delays, and the dumbarton bridge has construction. >> look like the traffic and entertainment report. always something fun with mike. certainly not fun standing in line at the dmv. the agency that oversees state

computer systems is looking to make improvement after computer at almost every office in the state went down for about four hours yesterday, adding to the frustration. anyone who wasn't taking a driving test had to reschedule their appointment. you'll recall the dmv's computers also crashed in march and in january of 2011. >> the guy to ripped off the home of the late steve jobs says he was down on his luck. he was telling police he saw the home as an easy targets. he said no one was home, there was no alarm, and it was under renovation, so he hopped the fence, found a spare key and walked right in, didn't realize he was in the home of the late apple founder until he saw a her addressed to steve jobs. >> if they didn't know, it was kind of like he hit the jackpot. >> well, so what did he get? he took an apple ipad 2, two

good morning. >> good morning, futures are slightly lower. stocks had been higher on positive earnings from home depot and better than expected, but they turned lower on news that greece is seeking a two-year extension to implement all starrett measures. we'll get there this morning on consumer prices as well as earnings from target, abercrombie & fitch and staples. the dow closed up just two points, so we'll open at 13,172. the nasdaq did slip five to 3016. more americans may be dining out a little less. restaurant visits rose just 1% this spring and it says

this morning new accusations that the state's top lawyers knew that california's park department was setting on millions months before it was revealed publicly. a former budget officer at the parks department claims she told state attorneys about the funding issue as early as april. but state leaders didn't acknowledge the scandal until it first came to light in july. at issue, $54 million in so-called hidden assets. the parks department never reported to the department of finance. that money could have been used to avoid state park closures due to state budget cuts. still ahead here on "today in the bay" how not to play a game of scrabble. how a finalist was literally kicked out. >> extra tiles in the pocket or something? nasa engineers prepare for the new mars rover's first big excursion. here's your look at the high rise over on to the other side. looking forward to that and the
