the most spirit, and the idea is the finalists are syracuse, university of tennessee, university of south florida -- we saved the last two wonderful ones for the end, brandeis university. >> massachusetts. >> and creighton university in omaha, nebraska. these guys are rocking it. we just want to point out these schools are a bit smaller than the other, but they are mighty. >> look at them. >> their mascot, yes. we'll find all that out in a few minutes. >> i like watching the kids screaming, i'm enjoying it. >> brandeis is named after the u.s. supreme court justice louis brandeis. >> going insane. check it out, the total number of students here only 5,500 and 3 a. 500 undergrad.

that caught our attention. two cyclists were on a quiet colorado country road, and there was a big suv behind them, and it would not go around on an empty road, instead he stood there and honked endlessly. they're riding on like a balance beam, and the car would not go around. >> i think that's just obnoxious. what do you want? >> they want them to stop so they can pass them or go to the side of the road. >> it's an empty country road. >> in beautiful colorado. >> go around. so what's the etiquette when it comes to -- >> we all know that's rude. >> apparently if you're at the stoplight and someone doesn't go through, you're supposed to wait four seconds. that's according to driversedguru.com. you count to four, and then you honk.

think we were like two inches apart from them. when you see a big semi in front of you like that. >> well, you know what happened on our street in the house in new york, it's a one way but now it's a wider street so people don't know it and people are always coming up the other way, and i was leaving for work in the morning and the guy was coming up the other way and flashed our lights. >> honk to get the person's attention. just to be rude, some people are lost or just real -- when you're really trying to find an exit or something and you slow down, it's like we have to be a little bit kinder to one another. >> i think you're right. >> i think if you're looking for something, you should put your flashers on. all right, talking about spirit and who isn't, take a look at this good-natured pooch. he was spotted on the grand central parkway in new york. the dog seems to be enjoying being on the motorcycle, and he is wearing a helmet. i heard he got up to --

should not be asking sixth graders questions like that and i will tell my parents who will tell the principal who will fire you. the teacher ignored her and stood up and asked the question again. little mary's mouth fell open and said to her around her, boy, is she going to get in big trouble. the teacher continued to ignore her and said to the class, anybody? finally billy stood up and said nervo nervously, the body part that increases eight times when stimulated is the eye. the teacher said, mary, you have a dirty mind, two, you didn't read your homework, and one day you will be very, very disappointed. >> it's a weird thing that happens. sometimes it's an event, sometimes it's just the cycle of life. >> right. >> that's what's so interesting. we do a lot of friendship in "more." i mean, actually i could probably do the entire magazine on friendship, it's such an important thing. what is interesting, when you look into the studies, you know that studies show we break up with our friends every seven years. who knew? >> like right on the dot. >> seven-year itch. >> and what's so interesting is that there is a cycle to friendship much like there is for relationships. >> is it because of personal growth taking you in a different direction? >> i absolutely think so, we evolve as human beings, or we should. >> thank you. >> we should. the person you are at 20 isn't the person you're at 50. if you're going to evolve as a person, your friendship should evolve with you. >> some people you take along for the ride because they've been friends for a long time and have always said or been a certain way and maybe it's negative and then you have finally had it. >> right, i have had to be the

psychiatrist for a lot of friends and at a certain point they never go out of therapy and i have to let the patient go. >> let me ask a really sincere question. were they ever really your friend to begin with if they are going a different direction. >> i think so, people evolve and change, and you're not always going to remain the same person. you should not expect that other people will too. sometimes you grow together and then you grow apart. that's okay, you just put them into a different category. they're not your best -- >> and it's really like a relationship. that is the same thing you expect of a long-term relationship. i have a lot of really good long-term friends but we have grown together, but that's a handful. right? >> a lot have friendships like that and what happens is they sort of dies on the vine a little bit. it kind of fades away. is that a better way? a real one on one? >> those friends, maybe a girlfriend from college or from

your old neighborhood -- >> one i talk to once a year and you can pick up right where you left off. >> you don't have to reinvent the relationship, you just reminisce and it was great while it lasted and was fantastic. >> if you do want to part ways with a friend, is the right way to let it taper off, or do you sit down with the person one-on-one and say you want to have a discussion? >> it depends on how deep the friendship is. if it's a really long friendship, and somebody you really care about, and remember that there is collateral damage now that you're not 12. you've got family, you've got kids. you've got school, you have to handle it in a very sophisticated way. and what jerry seinfeld does, confronting him, it is actually very good. >> you have to be honest. it's not you, me. even if it is you and i need to tell you about yourself so we can get this resolved. maybe we can be friends but --

>> usually people want a piece of you, a part of you, time with you. if you can explain to them that your life changed so much, one friend said when i got married, why we could not see each other as much. i said, i'm married. it's not physically possible. >> i have a family. >> sometimes you're not sure if you should save it or not. is there some kind of barometer test or do you just know inside? >> i think you know inside. i think you know if that person has evolved along the line of something you're going to be interested in in the future and i think the really important thing is is to know that it's okay to let some of those things go. it's not a failure on your part. >> you have to know the toxicity level of that relationship as well. you would not spend a lot of time in a toxic waste dump -- >> what goes in comes out. >> exactly. and sometimes you need to get out of there really, really quickly and just say, i'm out. >> but we were saying don't just hit the delete buttoning on facebook.

the main threat damaging wind and locally heavy rain and lightning out there and that includes up around the great lakes. southeast is quiet. still a few storms across florida. looking dry in the west, in fact, summerlike for the desert southwest on this first day of fall, 107 in phoenix. 55, however, in minneapolis, a few snowflakes possible early in the morning. not expecting any accumulation but the first flakes of the season around northern minnesota, northern wisconsin, look at chicago, 63 for the high. that means much of the day you're only going to be in the 50s. sunday, it's going to quiet down quite a bit. we won't have as much of the wind here. won't be as blugs terry of a day but still chilly around the great lakes. look at our temperatures, not budging all that much. we'll be at 61 in minneapolis and cooling off to 69 in new york city. a lot of beautiful september warmth across the rest of the country. and on monday, not a whole lot to talk about. northern new england will have a few showers, a few storms popping up over the rockies

there, western colorado, warming back up to 75 in chicago by tuesday and on wednesday, very much like september. september on average is a pretty quiet month and we don't have any big systems to track. a little bit of a cold front coming in that is going to keep us at 67 thursday. showers and storms from boston all the way back into the mountains of, say, west virginia. wake up with al on the weather channel at 6:00 a.m. chances are, you're not made of money, so don't overpay for motorcycle insurance.
