orange fever is upon us. and it feels so good. it is 4:31. good morning, everyone, i'm jon kelley. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. how do you not wake up happy this morning. let's check that forecast with meteorologist christina loren. i know she's smiling. >> indeed i am. you know what else feels good? the weather this morning. i want to start with a live picture of a bone dry radar. we are looking so much better when it comes to our weather. if you're looking for warmth, we've got that for you. today is going to be kind of cool. it's going to take a little while but look at your temperatures this morning. you're at 57 degrees in san francisco. meanwhile we had the 40s at this time in the north bay. enjoying the mid to low 50s at this point. this afternoon headed toward the upper 60s. your full forecast taking a look at that weekend in just a few moments. first we'll check your drive with mike. >> good morning, folks. we'll take you for the shot in the south bay. north 280 coming toward us at

in baseball is about as great a historical moment for a san francisco giants lifelong fan as it gets, in game one of the world series. with my brother in tow. yeah, this is kind of perfect. >> we'll see if the panda can do it again. game 2 of the world series starts at 5:00 tonight. the pitching matchup is madison bumgarner versus doug fister. dune in for complete game highlights from at&t park. pablo's amazing night overshadowed another amazing story. if you recall barry zito, he was dropped from the lineup during the last run by the giants in the world series. a lot of people dauogged him, called him overpaid but last night he outduelled the best pitcher in all of baseball, justin verlander. zito gave up just one run and battled to the finish. >> i didn't have all my pitches

working early. i was just trying to battle. i fell behind in some counts which was not the thing to do against this lineup but i was able to get out of this jams with some cutters and some curveballs and such and just felt great out there. >> zito had a great game. he was relieved by tim lincecum on a comeback of his own. this is the first time in baseball history since 1983 that a former cy young award winner relieved another cy young award winner in the ball game. >> you know, the giants got one of their good luck charms back just in time for the game. hunter pence's broken bat from game 7 of the nlcs was accidentally sold to a fan for $400. he bought it from the clubhouse store which sells game used memorabilia. when his three sons found out about it, they knew what needed to happen. >> i got up in the morning and i told my boys about it. and my 22-year-old said to me, you know, you should give hunter

hercules home are right now on their way back to california to face charges for this crime. prosecutors in contra costa county charging darnell and tanya washington with that murder, carjacking and a number of other felonies. the two are being extradited from washington state. investigators say the couple killed ko inside of her home and then stole her subaru and fled to the seattle area. it's 4:37. occupy oakland marks its one-year anniversary later today and a new movement is threatening to disrupt it. someone posted flyers around downtown oakland urging people to bring bats and defend the city from anarchists and vamg vandals. they call themselves defend our oakland movement. activists plan to rally and march today exactly one year after they were eevacuatvicted their encampment.

we turn it over to bertha coombs live at cnbc world headquarters. good morning. >> reporter: hi, jon. i used to wonder how people could afford to get the latest apple device and now i know. taking a look over, the futures are pointing to a higher start. company earnings are starting to spook investors a bit. while companies continue to beat on the bottom line in terms of profits, they're coming up short on the top line, the revenue line and sales. we're going to get some economic data today. most notably it's thursday, we get unemployment claims. we'll hear about durable goods from the government, pending home sales and we've got earnings ahead of the open from conoco phillips and pg&e. apple and amazon on tap after the bell. the dow losing 25 points yesterday. it will start today at 13,077. the nasdaq starts at 2981 after losing 8. as soon as apple unveiled

that new ipad mini on thursday, the first thing a lot of apple owners did was put their old ipads up for sale. 140,000 tablets were listed on its site between tuesday and wednesday. that's an increase of 700% from monday. half of that activity occurred in the hours just before apple's announcement. the most common model up for sale is what had been the new ipad, the one introduced seven months ago. a lot of those putting that one out. there's yet a new big ipad in addition to the mini. it's almost like these guys are just cranking them out. as soon as you buy one, it's obsolete. >> yeah, that's just how they do it. they keep us wanting more. thank you very much, we'll check back a little later on. >> we're still high on that giants win last night. christina was there yesterday morning. >> good luck charm. >> it was a lot of fun. thank goodness they won. now it feels like we're invincible. that's scary, guys. don't let your guard down. good morning to you. we want that win.

looking really good right now. in san francisco we're 57 degrees. 52 to start in novato and 54 in sonoma. basically we've got a blanket of clouds overhead. that's why your temperatures are warmer by 5 to 8 degrees than this time yesterday. as we head throughout the morning hours, we're going to see these numbers jump into the mid-60s and then round out the day in the low 70s. you might find some drizzle on your way to work. it looks like we may see fog between 7:00 and 9:00 today. we have a gradual warmup ahead. sunshine comes back in full force. high pressure is building and that's going to nudge the storm track up to the north. we're looking tropical. showers keeping up from the south. things will change so enjoy this dry pattern while it lasts. 80s inland as we get into the weekend but it's going to take a day for that cool air to mix

out. 69 in santa teresa, 68 in san jose and sent in gilroy. san francisco, you hit the upper 50s yesterday. i've warmed you up to 66 degrees today. it's going to be nice out there. seven-day outlook tells the story. things are going to change but not much. we'll climb 4 degrees on saturday, up to 82, peak warmth on monday. come tuesday we start that cooling period wednesday and thursday. but temperatures will remain in the 70s. tropical showers coming up from the south usually also equates to a lot of rain. we'll keep watching that and keep you updated. back to you guys. turning now to decision 2012 and the race for the white house. this morning president obama is pulling an all-nighter and governor romney has nonstop appearances in ohio today as his campaign really revs up. we've just got 12 days to go before the election.
