the east coast that. deadly storm already passing over cuba killing a total of 11 people. ten others have died in other parts of the caribbean. this category 1 storm right now over the bahamas this morning and it's also bringing tropical storm conditions all along that florida coast, as we showed you, from ft. lauderdale. sandy at this point being told could cause major weather problems all weekend long up and down the east coast. >> i understand it's going to be a pretty big mess over there. we've got it so nice here. >> it is much nicer here. you think about what's happening on the east coast. we're almost to halloween. you don't typically see tropical systems this late in the system. we're going to show you the very latest. it's a category 1 hurricane. right now mainly impacting florida, but watch the path that this storm takes. it kind of curves around the carolinas and makes that left hook right towards new jersey. if it does that as a category 1 hurricane, you could be looking at a lot of storm surge damage all up and down the east coast
4:44 am

really going to be a weight today. yesterday we did get a bit of a lift with some good economic data on unemployment, housing, durable goods and also positive earnings from proctor & gamble. this morning ahead of the opening bell we're going to be looking for a report on third quarter gdp to see how fast the economy grew over the summer. we're also going to get consumer sentiment mid-morning. overall the dow will start the day at 13,103 after gaining 26 points. the nasdaq gained 4 to 2986. but as i mentioned, apple is going to be the big weight on the day. the quarterly earnings missing wall street's forecast. they sold enough iphones, 27 million of the new iphone 5s, but ipad sales fell short of expectations. they came in at 16 million. the company's holiday forecast is also below what analysts are looking for. that may be partly due to the fact that these new products, including the ipad mini and the ipad 4, they're more complicated
