meteorologist anthony slaughter who says there's actually lower visibility in the south bay than in san francisco today. >> kind of rare, usually it's at the coast where you see the low fog. we have that across the board, low clouds, fog, all that's going to lift, hang on if you're making plans this weekend it looks good. there you can see our live pick our satellite imagery and radar composite in new orleans. we don't have any clouds to talk about, temperatures there are cool in the 50s, and we'll get you your super bowl forecast in just a bit. here at home we want to start you off with a look at our satellite image. the clouds blanketing most of california so we are not alone in this cloudy start. we are mild, that's the advantage of having clouds overnight. 42 in gilroy, 49 in san jose. 50 in sunnyvale, 48 in san francisco. once we get into the afternoon hours plenty of sunshine, temperatures not too bad. little cooler yesterday by a couple of degrees. 67 in santa rosa, 64 in san jose and 66 in santa cruz. here it is your super bowl forecast for tomorrow in new orleans, temperatures by kickoff at 65 degrees, 61 by halftime

may have never gone to bed. also, ticket prices to get into the super bowl have gone up a little bit, it will cost you at least $1,300 but one thing remains the same, it is still harbaugh versus harbaugh, a story line that was in danger of being tapped out, maybe a couple of weeks ago. however, jim and john did a real good job here in new orleans of keeping the focus on the players. however that focus shifted baaing to them yesterday when they made super bowl history the first joint press conference from the two head coaches. >> i just want to start by saying what an honor it is for both of us to be here with each other, no question about it, what a very exciting moment it is, but even more than that, to, for our families to be here. >> i concur. [ laughter ] the way our players have played, to me, that is why we're here, not because of any coaching decisions or any way that we were when we were kids but you

the shooting happened around 11:00 last night near the intersection of 23rd street and telegraph avenue, not far from the oakland art murmur gallery walk. police say the victim died at the scene. another person was hurt in the shooting and was taken to a nearby hospital. that victim's condition is not known at this time. as of now there are no suspects and no motive. today we expect to learn more about the suspicious death of a teenaged girl whose naked body was found in a fairfield pa park. the body was found near the parking lot around 6:45 friday morning. right now police are not releasing her name or her exact age until her family is properly notified, but they do say she went to school in suisun city thursday and never went home. it took an autopsy to identify the teenager and police are investigating the girl's death as a homicide. officers in suisun city spent thursday night looking for the girl after she was reported missing by a guardian. parents around the community say they are stunned. >> oh my god, i could just imagine if it was one of my own, and it being so close to where

we live and our daughter goes to school with them. when we're strict with them they know why now, what can happen. >> police will release more information about the girl and the circumstances surrounding her death after proper family notification. right now police say there are no suspects in the case. in the south bay the search is on for two men who police say beat up an elderly woman in east san jose. we want to warn you the video you're about to see is disturbing. the woman who does not want to share her name but did want people to see how badly she was beaten. two black eye, a broken nose, scrapes on her elbows and upper chest. police say she had been kicked and punched in the head. investigators say the elderly woman and her daughter caught two men trying to break into their car around 2:00 friday morning, when they yelled for them to stop one man chased them into their house and beat up the 74-year-old woman. the woman finally escaped to a neighbor's home. police say the suspects

ransacked the home and took off. witness says the attack is extremely upsetting. >> there were two men, one was beating on her, the other one was saying "don't hurt her, don't hurt her, she's an old lady." but the one who was hitting her wouldn't stop. >> police said the two men tried to break into several cars on the same street before they reached the woman's home. still ahead on "today in the bay" the standoff continues. the latest on negotiations between police and a suspect holding a 5-year-old boy hostage. but for a very, very small group of fans it will be their 47th trip to the super bowl, perfect attendance, nbc bay area's lawrence scott introduces us to the san francisco man who has seen them all. >> that was one of the controversial calls. >> reporter: larry jacobsen of san francisco has been a 49ers season ticket holder for decades, dating back to keizar stadium. he's in new orleans to the game on sunday having been to each of the niners' previous super bowls but the streak doesn't stop there. he's part of a very unique club, just one of three paying fans who have attended each and every super bowl and it all goes back to the first game when the ticket price was 12 and a true love affair with the super bowl began. >> at that time, it was easier to get a ticket, naturally, and i took a date and she wasn't impressed with football or me so i took a couple dates to the super bowl over the years. i went to super bowl xi with my

wife and she said no more dating. >> reporter: he tied the knot and kept going to the super bowl year upon year, the face value of the tickets increased many times over but nearly 50 years of memories are well worth it especially with the niners making their sixth appearance. but it was the team's very first that he holds dearest. >> i have to say, xvi was my favorite, it was the first one, it was unexpected that we would get there, and the fact that we were there, you know, it was miraculous in ways and the fact that we won it was more miraculous in ways so that was the most fun. >> reporter: you have to wonder is there a wonder he's hoping to reach or a cap on this journey that's been predetermined? >> the two men i go with said well after 50 i don't know if i want to go anymore. i said that's baloney. when you get to 50 i'm going to call new february and say hey, do you want me to make reservations for li and you're going to say yes. i'm just going to keep going

baltimore's mayor have a bet, the loser has to go to the winner's city and eat crab while donning the other's team jersey. the losing mayor will also participate in a day of service, which is really a win/win no matter which team comes out on top. and anthony slaughter is here with our super bowl forecast, what do you think, dungeoness or blue crab? >> crab, i'll eat anything, lobster, pile it on. we are looking at current conditions in new orleans, here it is, temperature right now at 51 degrees, forecast for today is going to be 67 degrees so very similar conditions as to what we see here in the bay, and of course, this is a dome, so it's always interesting when we give the forecast and the players play inside, just if you're wondering. here at home you can see temperatures in the 40s right now. we have clolots of cloud cover

fog blanketing all of the bay area. as we get toward the afternoon hours temperatures warm back into the mid-60s. few degrees cooler than yesterday. bev a spare the air alert for the central and east bay where air quality could get into the unhealthy category so just limit the burning if you do have a fireplace today, definitely not the day to do that. you'll notice our visibility very poor in many locations, really the only place that's looking at good visibility is off way in the concord and fairfield but notice lots of places even down in san jose visibility down to four miles. less than a quarter-mile in santa rosa. so allow extra time for yourself with the fog especially in the north bay. 48 in san francisco, 52 in oakland and 49 down in san jose. our jet stream way off to the north and off to the west as well, it's taking a dip, pulling in this cloud cover that you see to our south and this cloud cover not going to give us any rain but going to be with us the

first half of the day so we're looking at a mix of sun and clouds through the day but the onshore flow is going to keep the foggy conditions in place at least for the first half of the day, we are expecting to see a good mix of sun and clouds by this afternoon. 61 in san francisco later this afternoon, 69 in fremont, down in san jose we'll be at 64, santa cruz not bad, 66 degrees today. few degrees cooler than we were yesterday. tomorrow more sunshine pulls back into the picture as we start to see more ridging and then as we head towards this upcoming week temperatures not too bad. we'll stay dry the first half of the week. there will be a system that slides our way thursday and friday, that could offer a few showers but in the short term the focus is the super bowl for tomorrow, today, tomorrow, no problems in the weather department, make sure you get out and enjoy. >> we will, thank you very much, anthony. much more ahead on "today in the bay." still to come, nearly 70,000 fans will soon pack the niners new stadium in just a few years but it might not be a smooth landing for silicon valley's newest landmark.

about the location of the new 49ers stadium, it is located in the flight path. investigative reportier steven stockton covered safety issues that could have a huge impact on travelers. >> reporter: right off the end of runways 1-2r and 1-2l the beautiful 49ers stadium is hard to miss but according to several sources within the local aviation and emergency management community it was only once the stadium started rising in the distance did top officials begin exploring the implications of 68,000 fans packed into a stadium located right off the end of two major runways. >> you have to be in two-way communication to fly anywhere near that airport in the first place. >> reporter: willie turner has been flying private airplanes all over the bay area his entire life. he serves as vice president of operations at hiller aviation institute. >> whenever there's a football game on or a baseball game or any large gathering, people at a stadium they put into what they call temporary flight

restrictions and those are tfrs. >> reporter: the faa confirms that a tfr will be in place over santa clara stadium whenever there is a football game or other big event, but as this video shows, commercial flights literally pivot right over top of the new stadium when landing from the north, south on to runways 1-2l or 1-2r at minetta, san jose, and with tv helicopters, banner planes and the occasional blimp hovering overhead, that could make for crowded skies and a much heavier workload for air traffic control. >> it's the landing 1-2, if they're landing 1-2. i don't know what they would do. they're going to have to think about that. >> reporter: the trouble is three different aviation sources tell us not a lot of thought has gone into that so far. they believe commercial air traffic landing over the new 49ers stadium during a game could significantly raise air traffic controller's workload and procedures, procedures the faa confirms they are only now

beginning to work out. >> commercial aviation gets priority over everything so they're not going to change that. >> reporter: faa spokesman ian gregor says "we wouldn't allow any activity that interferes with arrivals or departures out of san jose." but the sources we spoke with remain skeptical and concerned and say local air traffic controllers were not consulted or included in the aviation planning around the stadium, and look at these drawings which show parts of the new stadium, like light towers and antennas exceeding the maximum height originally allowed in this faa study. the faa says those height limits have been studied individually and do not pose any threat to safety. >> of course that was a consideration for things like general aviation and during game days we would coordinate appropriate lay. >> reporter: santa clara mayor jamie matthews says the city has been planning for the issues long before the stadium was announced. >> that's part of the overall

experience for yourself. tell us a little about that. >> reporter: yes, absolutely, kris. first of all we've come across a lot of 49er fans from the bay area here in the big easy and you ask almost all of them, do you have tickets to the big game and they say no, but they still have plenty to keep them busy. we're here on the banks of the mississippi river and the past couple of nights, fireworks a couple nights ago, concerts as well here. lot of fans showed up here and a lot of fans have gone inside the nfl fan experience, 850,000 square feet, it's at the convention center here in the big easy, fans can go through some drills, they can see some displays and learn about nfl history so i figured yeah i got to get myself a piece of this. i tried out the action at the nfl fan experience. punt catching contest. time to see what it's like to be ted ginn. i'm going to say if you go out there, make this catch, i think

just women who are getting violated in the military. more than 20% of female veterans have been sexually assaulted while serving. >> about half a million women have been sexually assaulted in the u.s. military. if we can prevent sexual assault in the military, i believe we can prevent it or reduce it in our larger culture. >> reporter: siebel-newsom directed her first movie in 2011. >> it represents women of power and influence in the country and challenges the media's portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman. >> reporter: siebel-new-som is not in it for the gold. >> i believe i think 10% of the u.s. forces have seen the film i think we'll start to see change.

francisco, you can tell the birds are already lined up cheering on the 49ers, if you listen closely you can hear them tweeters "49ers, 49ers." there's one flying away. i've had too much coffee this morning. :45, looking in san rafael you can see we are starting to see some sunshine, a little bit of haze in the air. we do still have a spare the air alert in effect for today so if you are just out and about and you have any respiratory ailments, want to limit your time outdoors. this morning the fog is with us until about 9:00, 10:00 at the coast. once we get past that we'll see sunshine, temperatures today lower 60s, at the coast and the bay we'll see mid-60s even inland mid-60s, that will be our top temperature, 66 degrees today, kind of fitting for rooting for our 49ers. you'll notice that spare the air alert, yes, unhealthy air quality especially in the central and east bay where that's where we'll see the worst air quality. temperatures very mild this hour, 50 in sunnyvale. 52 in oakland right now. our visibility is probably the

worst in the north bay, santa rosa less than a quarter of a mile. we're clearing out along san mateo, oakland, concord, fairfield starting to see adviseibilities improve. our jet stream is way off into the pacific but notice that onshore flow kicking up clouds from our south and this is what we're dealing with this morning, not going to be cloudy day all day long. we will see some sunshine later this afternoon, it will be a hazy sunshine, a good mix of sun and clouds once we get toward the afternoon hours. this morning we are sticking around with the cloudy conditions until after about 11:00. 67 later today in santa rosa, 61 in san francisco, 67 in los gatos as well. san jose you'll be right around 64 degrees and of course we've been telling you about it, no stranger you know it's happening tomorrow, super bowl xlvii and we are talking about temperatures even here at home that are going to be very similar to what we're looking at in new orleans by kickoff, 65 degrees, lots of sunshine. winds light through the game, halftime 61 and 58 by the fourth quarter and again, even though it's in the dome, it's always

the future rattles, the technology on its way into the stadium hums. silicon valley networking veteran brocade chosen by the 49ers to wire their new digs has the task of creating the most tech-savvy sports facility in history. >> because it's going to host all the services and all the technology that silicon valley has to offer. >> reporter: that's brocade's chief technology officer dave stephens who says the goal is to make this stadium as tech-friendly as your living room, assuming your living room can handle 70,000 football fans. >> so that means that you have to be able to support everybody's mobile devices. people have to upload photos to instagram, have to get on to facebook and run instant messaging, do all the things they can do at home, their expectation they can do that inside the stadium. >> reporter: nothing like that has been done before. most stadiums just frustrate mobile users. now the 49ers want to you get a

looking live at the newest bit of public art, the city bleeds gold. the two artists who painted that mural say it only took them about a day and a half. we think it's going to last for a while. for some fans the experience in new orleans is about as much about the experience as the big game. well, the culture of the big easy is certainly exciting. ahmad fareed of comcast sports net has been in new orleans all week long and found a little time to hit the streets and you won't believe what he got himself into. take a look. ♪ >> i juggle on the street to pay for college. i'm going over to loyola university in uptown. >> reporter: you juggle on the street, what does that mean? >> it means i try and convince people to stand around and watch what i do. i got the clubs and i've got these knives that i do right here and basically it all leads up to me getting a sucker to lie

it is no secret the city of reno, nevada, where colin kaepernick went to college is supporting the 49ers quarterback but check out this. the iconic sign in the biggest little city has a new message ahead of the super bowl, right in the middle of downtown, and it says "go kap, go!" some words of encouragement for the big showdown. and now a super bowl practice diction.
