>> there is stuff coming down. >> yeah. a lot of it. in fact, the south bay getting smacked. let me show you the radar. we had a significant batch. sfo cameras shaking. winds coupled with the heavy rainmaking for a dangerous drive to work this morning. let's take it to the radar lit up like a christmas tree in the south bay. look at the batch of moisture getting ready to smack downtown san jose. san jose is a sprawling area. it will be a rough drive to work as the most active time period will be between now and 7:00 a.m. so within the next 15 a, 20 minutes the moisture is headed toward 17. you really, really want to travel cautiously this morning. let's talk about what we expect today. winds will continue to be strong as we head throughout the first few hours. all the way through mid-morning and the winds start to drop off. a cold blast will settle in enough for strong thunderstorms to fire off today. we'll take you to the full forecast in a minute. first we want to check the drive. mike, it's looking like a nasty

one. >> we have seen early morning solo car spinouts. one car spinning out on the driveway. wet roadways combined with the winds. we are at the san mateo bridge and see the camera mounted steadily. we see westbound traffic and slick roadways and water. folks headed toward us and away from us. we'll look at the peninsula side. you see the camera shaking. not a great view but the camera is shaking to indicate the wind. keep it in mind for your east-west bridges like the san mateo. the map shows you san mateo. dunbarton at 84 and on the traffic maps we have green sensors. speeds are okay. there is rain registering. maybe pundling and ponding there. 101 at the intersection over there by sunniville. traveling through the area, 101 drier. we saw puddling earlier. christina's radar shows what's

leading internet service providers to discourage piracy through a copyright alert system. by we'll tell a provider if they have illegally provided content like a song. then the isp is warned about the piracy. if it continues warnings intensify. >> they have the right at some point to institute maybe a slowing down of your internet service. after six strikes they could suspend your service. >> critics worry internet providers are overstepping their bounds. >> it was history to talk about. a record day after the dow closes at an all a time high. jackie deangelis with an early look at whether the strong trend will continue today. good morning. >> good morning. it was one for the record books

and the market raly is set to march on today. the dow closing at an all time high on tuesday as the markets erased all of the losses from the recession and financial crisis. stocks were boosted by a report showing the service sector is at the highest level in a year. analysts saying the market may be fuelled by the interest rate policy and corporate a profits though unemployment remains high and washington is grid-lock over the budget deficit. five stocks did the heavy lifting -- disney, home depot, 3m, johnson & johnson and travellers. the dow rose 14 points to 14,253 topping the previous record from october 9, 2007. the nasdaq gaining 42 points and the broader s&p 500 rising 15. the s&p 500 now just 25 points away from the all-time high. also this morning a trade group for the casino industry sent

state regulators to bar an online gaming company from making a return to the u.s. market. poker stars based on the isle of man is seeking to buy a casino. allowing companies that own a casino to offer online betting as well. the justice department sued poker stars for fraud in 2011 claiming the company used false billing codes to process bets from u.s. residents after internet gambling was banned by congress in 2006. the trade group says charges are pending against poker stars founder. back to you. >> thank you very much for the update. check in with you later. >> the name iphone is known worldwide. did you know iphone's famed device was almost called something else? apple's former advertising lead ken segall made the revelation talking at the university of arizona. he said three names were considered. the telepod, tripod and mobi

over willow glen. it will be a rough ride. mike is tracking the drive to get you there on time and safely. campbell, 58 minutes away from heavy downpours. throughout the morning hours that will be the case. most of the activity is pressing south of the golden gate bridge at this point. look what happened on the north end of the cold front where the winds are the strongest. we're calm here. gilroy, san jose. winds 6 to 10 miles per hour. more in the 18 to 23 miles per hour range up north. you want to travel cautiously. that's the area where the ground is saturated. so, yeah, slick conditions, gusty winds. not a great combination. mike will be here to track that for you. 6:00 a.m. showers lighten up a little bit through mid-morning by noon today the showers will lighten up. we'll get a break from the rain tonight looking good. i think we'll see a much better evening. more rain through your thursday.

not clear what led to the attack. in the bay area, people also mourning chavez's death. 75 people gathered at mission and 24th last night to sing the praises and hold a vigil. >> i was reading the news right now. somebody's burning flags and these kind of things. >> chavez will lie in state until friday when there will be a public funeral held for him. meantime, vice president nicholas maduro in place until an election can be called. that's expected within 30 days. chavez said in december if
