will update us on the fix of the busted bolts on the bay bridge. briefing the commission on its investigation this morning. more than 30 of the massive rods snapped off after being tightened last month. there are 288 anchor rods on the new span. more than two-thirds of them have not been tightened. caltrance is trying to figure out how the rest of the records do not break. breaking news overnight, bay area investigators looking into a triple shooting that kills one man and wounds two women. this all happened after 1:00 this morning on yorkshire drive not too far from deer valley road in antioch. two victims are the mother and adult daughter and the two had a restraining order against the alleged gunman, who somehow ends up dead. neighbors in the area say this is a violent and shocking

attack. >> we saw this and it's like, what is this? and then to hear about somebody being shot. it, it -- it's devastating. >> those two women were taken to john mier medical center where they are both in critical condition this morning. a body found on fire on the side of a south bay road. cr crews initially responded to reports of a brush fire on the cottle road on-ramp in south san jose last night. while battling the flames they found a body that had been badly burned. investigators are now working to identify that person. crew crews say it appears he or she may be living in the area. >> it appears that what we found were things like a mattress, tent, things like that. it appeared that the person didn't reside in the area where we found the body. >> the cause of the fire is under investigation. officials say there are no sounds of foul play.

oakland tribune photographer. police have arrested 38-year-old anthony lister of san leandro, a ten-time felon charged with killer 59-year-old lionel fluker, who was hit by a stray bullet, sadly later died. at least one other gunman is involved in this attack. if you know anything about this shooting please call opd. 4:34. mother and father used of killing their daughter's suspected pump will be charged later this morning, facing first-degree murder charges in the death of calvin sneed. two of the suspects claim sneed was pumping their teenage daughter. all four suspects were ordered to stand trial last month. south bay soldier being laid to rest right next to his father. 24-year-old specialist delfin

santos jr. was killed in afghanistan along with two other american soldiers over the weekend. a car bomb reportedly exploded while they were delivering textbooks to school children. santos was following in the footsteps of his father, who also served in the army. santos' dad fought against the japanese during world war ii and was held as a prisoner of war. santos jr. is the youngest of 17 children. he and his sister, madeline, joined the army and served together in iraq back in 2008. >> trying to help people, trying to protect the doctor, the diplomat. which is good. i'm so -- i'm just proud of him. i'm proud of him, but why this had to be him. >> such a tough day. specialist santos will be laid to rest, as we said, right next to his dad. this will take place in the philippines. >> dozens of students from the bay area are in wauvds thshingt. this morning, joining thousands

of others for the biggest immigration rally since 2006. the students left from oakland international last night, part of a group called by any means necessary. they're demanding full citizenship rights for all undocumented workers and the passage of the federal dream act. >> fortunately, i was born here. i don't think it's fair for people who are trying to come over here and trying to have a better life, they can't do it. >> organizers say most of the students raised the money for the trip on their own, asking for donations door to door and speaking to unions. the rally in washington, d.c. will coincide with several events around the country. here in the bay area, a prayer breakfast is planned at our lady of guadalupe church. activists will march through downtown in support of immigration reform before holding a rally at the old federal building in berkeley a candlelight vigil will be held

on the pedestrian bridge. business groups and labor unions have said they've reached a tentative deal. involve i involving a new visa program that would admit 20,000 immigrant workers in 2015. that number could grow to 200,000 over five years. number of visas would change depending on the unemployment rates, job openings and employer demand. the deal would still need final improvement by lawmakers, could make a way to have an immigration bill released as soon as this week. let's talk about the forecast for today. the warmest day today, christina? >> warmest day of the year so far. i'm usually not this excited at 4:38 on any day. today, we have been waiting for the warmth. maybe you've been waiting to hit the beach like myself. today is your day to do so. how does 80 degrees in santa cruz sound?

ing a report. we'll bring it to you next time. >> thank you, mike. clearing the way for a massive shopping center near the new niners stadium. city council were going to a vote. they did yesterday, to close a bmx track and 18-hole golf course and tennis club. entertainment district filled with shops, restaurants and a mix of housing will be put up in its place. the project is similar to san jose, santana row, but five times the size. google now has permission to build an executive terminal at the international airport. $82 million facility will be a place for google execs to park and service their private jets. airport officials say it will generate more than $2 million per year in rent. if things go right, you might be able to own your own private jet. get those tickets ready. the very first powerball drawing, tickets sold here in california, starting tonight.

il sung. a plane carrying the hakken family and joshua hakken. joshua kidnapped the four and 2-year-old from his mother-in-law's house and sailed the family off to cuba. the cuban government helped to capture that family. little background on this story, grandparents were granted custody of the boys last week after their parents attended an anti-government rally and were caught with a gun, marijuana and knife in their hotel room. a $21,000 reward is being offered to try to track down a gunman who shot an elephant from the ringling brothers barnum & bailey circus. elephant was shot in the neck during a drive-by shooting in mississippi yesterday. carol is now heading back to her

home in missouri to spend the next couple of months recovering. security is being increased to protect the two other elephants remaining in the show. a happy ending to just a very strange story of a puppy now safe in southern california after being tied down to some train tracks. authorities in riverside county say a 78-year-old man reportedly tied up this 10-month-old poodle terrier mix last week and simply walked away from the tracks. operator of an oncoming train saw the puppy and managed to stop the train just in time. officials say they are not pursuing animal cruelty charges against the elderly man, because he appears to be confused and just didn't understand exactly what he had done. the puppy's nickname is banjo. it's now healthy and banjo is now up for adoption. >> find a good home for banjo there. 4:51. florist has been thrown into a lawsuit over same-sex marriage. state legalized same-sex

right now a baby seal waking up in the care of the marine mammal center. found trapped at the flood gates just yesterday. the 5-week-old seal possibly got separated from its mother and swam up shore. once it finally gets bigger and healthier, it will be released back in the wild. this marks the very first time in ten years a seal has been found in palo alto. >> what a cutie there, too. playoff bound. live look at the oracle where fans will get a chance to see their team in the playoff later this month. they clinched it in front of a home crowd last night, beating the timberwolves 95-89. four more games before the playoffs start in just 10 days. >> had a strong start of the season. little lull but now it's party time. >> there you go.

fire and chp are trying to determine who that person was and what start this had fire here along the on-ramps in northbound highway 85. several drivers called 911 a little after nine to report that brush and trees were on fire. as the fire department was putting it out, they discovered the badly burned body. it appears he or she, they can't tell what the gender was. it appears that that person was homeless based a mattress and tent nearby, along with other personal items. the fire department doesn't believe there was foul play but they're not 100% yet certain. >> we're trying to determine whether it's accidentala accide purposeful at this point in time, nothing says it's anything other than accident al. >> the on-ramp was shut down for a short time. but of course, it is now reopened. this should not have any affect on the commute.
