a hail of gunfire erupted about 10:00 last night near mini drive and echo summit road. two people shot. one of the cars riddled with bullet holes. two others were hit trying to run away. they collapsed a block away. all four people are expected to be okay. no motive for the gun fire as of now. >> i don't believe this was your typical random shooting but, again, we're not sure who was involved in it. >> police say as many as 25 shots were fired from different handguns and rifles. no one else was urt had. a bay area middle school teacher under investigation accused of hitting a student during class. christie smith is live in concord with the cell phone video that led to this investigation. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. it looks like this cell phone video was probably shot by a student in the back of the

class. you soo he other students seat and the teacher is walking around with some unknown object in her hand. it is kind of long. this video was obtained by claycord.com. it shows the teacher hitting at least one student and apparently threatening others with this object that has a hollow sound after it lands. at one point, a student says ah-hah after it lands. they say this is a personnel issue and they can't share details. they said, the teacher is on administrative leave as we investigate and take all necessary steps to ensure students have a safe and productive learning environment. this incident happened just before spring break started. reporting live in concord, christie smith, "today in the bay." a toddler who was tied up with tape are now suing the school

and her teacher. parents say former teacher tied up her daughter after the girl refused to take a nap. they claim the 2-year-old has panic attacks and can't sleep for more than a few hours at a time. the school said it is reviewing the lawsuit. hundreds of students at an east bay high school will be tested for tuberculosis. deer valley in antioch conducting those tests after a student was diagnosed with the illness. the student has recovered and is back in school. health officials say 200 students had contact with the affected student and could have be been exposed to t.p. 6:06. we are watching the weather. what a better look to give you than the embarcadero. we have had lovely mornings

a couple in mountain view right now, happy to have their newborn infant with them following an unexpected delivery. >> she came into the world from her family's bathroom. she was in the bathroom when her water broke. she was already making her way out. with no time to go to the hospital, her father ran to the neighbor for assistance. the neighbors had never delivered a baby but someone had to happy. >> first time, i push and the baby just came out but baby didn't cry so i thought, oh, my god, oh, my god, i'm going to risk my baby here but then she did something and then i heard baby crying and i was so relieved. >> i hear babies crying in the background. she and her mother went to the hospital after the delivery and received a clean bill of health. >> neighbors asking for a little more than a cup of sugar.

returns to work. four firefighters were taken hostage when they responded to what was supposed to be a hour-long medical call. none of the firefighters were hurt. a man suspectsed ed of stab a dozen people expected to appear in court this morning. investigators say he stabbed 14 people at lone star community college near houston tuesday. he told authorities he has been fantasizing about stabbing people since he was eight years old. 6:14. the owner of a cruise ship that sank off the italian coast will not have to face criminal charges. costa cruise appear greed to pay a fine. it struck rocks and partially sank in january, 2012. 32 people died in the wreck. the ship's captain remains

they become fog. you are going to meet them halfway. slowing in the southbound direction, there are no crashes or incidents around the golf course. we do so some slowing because of that build coming out of pleasanton. something south of here we've been tracking. there is a crash near the off ramp around that area. we don't have any lanes reported blocked. the off ramp should be open. south 680, you see the build slowing. 84 into livermore, no major issues. 580, a crash and some debris that caused the crash. cleanup and activity there is a distraction. any problems as you head through toward the dublin interchange causes more slowing for the volume. north 680 has continued to be a problem over the last half hour as we still have the crash

good news. all trains back on time. san francisco lines were having a problem. a quick look outside to see how things are shaping up. coming across the bay, low clouds, high-rise. you could still see the flat section. visibility is getting to be an issue as you are coming off the 880. keep that in mind. low clouds causing visibility issues. we talked about the fog. the speeds have recovered. the low clouds now touching the hills as you come out of sunol into fremont. visibility may be a factor. we'll end with another shot out here. the slowdown for 580, earlier crash, sounds like it has cleared. 880 headed through livermore continued slow for the tri-valley area.

the new span of the bay bridge could delay the grand opening after all if caltrans cannot come up with a solution soon. they say it could take weeks or months to figure out a permanent fix for the problem. the bolts hold down devices to the span. the $6 billion span is supposed to open on labor day weekend. >> chevron announcing it is moving a long list of jobs from san ramon to houston, texas. the bay area news group reporting 400 jobs will be moved starting in august. that number apparently half the amount they had considered moving. they are staying put in san ramon. a local employee who loses their job here can apply for positions within the company. unique job fair set to take place for veterans looking for

a quick look at the peninsula. look at the sun. it is reflecting off this billboard as well. that's what you are dealing with, haze in the peninsula. finally, this morning, a very, very close encounter for a man fishing from his kayak in hawaii. >> i don't think i would behalf as cool as this guy. here he is out there hanging out, minding his own business, looking for some fish. a ten-foot tiger shark jumping out of the water trying to snatch the tuna he was reeling in. the 500-poupd shark bumps the kayak and wins the battle and the fish off the line. >> the shark came around and ate the kama. can a near my boat. i had a reaction later. >> he shakes it off. he kept on fishing out there.
