two months ago. during those crimes, she dumped her stolen vehicle at an apartment complex on the east side of town. one of the officers remembered that and said, why not see if she tries to do the same thing. he staked out that apartment complex and she did. >> i believe the suspect thought she got away with it the first time, when they didn't. we figured this might be the same suspect from a month ago, we went to the area where she had dumped the previous stolen vehicle and sure enough, she showed up. >> after tonight's crash, the pregnant woman surrendered right away and the man and the main suspect, the woman, tried to run. they were cut off and taken into custody. police tell us they found money, lottery tickets and the gun inside the stolen vehicle that crashed into the bushes where you can see the squad car shining its lights. they just removed that vehicle. they will be taking it to the impact for processing. they only have one lane shut

berry, jena dejesus and michele knight who all disappeared difference times. berry was 16 when she was kidnapped, not far from the home where she was found along with the two other women. the police chief says all were tied up and held there since they were in their teens or early 20s. it was yesterday when the now 27-year-old berry escaped while her captor was gone. first, you are going to hear part of her frantic 911 call and then from the neighbor who helped this neighbor end. >> i've been kidnapped, and i've been missing for ten years, and i'm here. i'm free now. >> i saw that and it don't look right. i pried the door open. three men are in custody. they are brothers. just one lived at the home where the women are being held.

the men have been interviewed also by the fbi. for those of us here in the bay area, this case is very reminiscent of the jaycee dugard story. she was missing before being rescued from a home in antioch. the other question we have this morning is a 6-year-old was also rescued from that home in cleveland. we don't know the answers just yet. we are hoping to learn more when the news conference starts at 6:00. >> a lot more to come on that one. thank you very much. what a story. the former head of san mateo county's probation department returns to court on charges of possessing child pornography during his years on the job. >> stuart forest will be arraigned on two felony child porn charges this morning. he resigned his position at the end of last year in the midst of a federal investigation into the pornography accusation. he now faces more than three years in prison if convicted the man accused of killing a 13-year-old girl and dumping her

5:16 am
we are going to keep the chance for showers in the mix for today and tomorrow. what i can tell you, you have a better chance of getting rained on as you drive to work in your vehicle than just walking out your front door to your car. if that helps put things into perspective, you probably don't need to carry that umbrella with you all day long. we are going to continue to see the wrap-around showers come into the bay area, nothing too heavy. we saw most of the action yesterday. the system is starting to fizzle out. let me show you what we are expecting from it as we head throughout the next 48 hours. it is going to race into the east side of the bay area. we stop the clock at 6:00 a.m. showers starting to push to the south. southern california seeing more activity than us today. we stopped that clock for you at 8:00 a.m. not a lot of action during your morning drive. look what happens. by 10:00 a.m., showers start to develop pushing in over the local mountains surrounding san jose in particular.
