the box that people are interested in. reports of a man down in the parking lot behind this jack in the box and when police arrive, they did find this man unconscious. san jose fire came out. they declared this man dead right behind this jack in the box on blossom hill road. police say it appears this man was assaulted so the san jose police homicide unit has come out and they are taking over this investigation. we have seen investigators snapping cameras, taking pictures of the scene, canvassing the scene. we are now waiting for the santa clara county coroner to come out here to remove the man's body. now, no word on any suspects at this point. the victim's identity is not being released, way too early in this investigation. this all started about 1:20. we are about three hours into this investigation. from snell avenue all the way about a quarter of this block to

the chase bank over here, police have this whole entire area cordoned off. i talked to a police officer. i asked him how long he was going to be out here. at least four more hours. >> marla tallez, "today in the bay." a person of interest is in custody in connection with the triple stabbing that killed a 1-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman. >> 29-year-old reuben ramirez was detained in san francisco last night. he reportedly live in san jose at the home where the woman and baby boy were killed. a 3-year-old girl was stabbed and is in stable condition at the hospital. more than 50 law enforcement personnel searched a neighborhood on view month near allen rock for hours before ramirez was found. >> we had put out earlier that there was a person of interest, another family member by the

name of reuben ramirez, has been located in the city of san francisco, has been located by the martial service and the p.d. >> they say he has a mental illness and law officials have been called to the home. he is only a person of interest but they do not have any other suspects another gruesome crime scene. san jose police hoping clues found inside of a hotel room will lead them to a killer. a made discovered a woman's body at the holiday inn express on hon tere highway at 1:30. the wounds on her body are consistent with a homicide. the woman's name and age are not being released at this time. investigators not saying whether she checked in alone or how long she had been staying at the hotel. many of the guests there reportedly were from out of town and attending a convention in san jose.

>> a bay area youth pastor is out on bail. 45-year-old sam yum yoon was arrested during a prostitution sting in florida. he is a youth minister at the new community church in san leandro. he was in san leandro attending a conference. he responded to a post by an undercover sting that offered women for sex. 92 people were arrested. counselors will be at a school talking to students about the death of their 9-year-old classmate. her body was sadly found in the water near the family's vacation home in clear lake yesterday morning. she disappeared on mother's day and mikaela who has autism went to school at sunset elementary. parents received a letter about her death from the school when they picked up their kids yesterday afternoon. >> they explained that

unfortunately, bad things happen to good people. >> while school administrators will share the news of her death with the stew accidenudents at today. pleasanton police on the lookout for a pair of criminals that attacked a woman and tried to take her baby boy. the woman was walking whether she was approached by two men. one of the men pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse. the other grabbed her stroller and took off. while he was running, it tipped over. he then tried to pull the boy out but he couldn't and then both men ran away. the woman and her baby were not seriously hurt. >> palo alto police asking for your help to find a robber who stole money from a woman in the downtown area. the woman was walking down hamilton avenue monday night when the man grabbed her ponytail and pulled her into an alley demanding money. the woman complied. the man took off.

police are asking anyone who saw anything strange to please give them a call. >> the man accused of kidnapping and killing sierra lamar, is scheduled to be in court. he has yet to enter a plea of kidnapping and murder charges. this case has been delayed severed times most recently because of technical problems with photo discs and interview videos which prosecutors gave to the defense team. sierra lamar disappeared in march of last year. garcia torres was arrested two months later. so far, lamar's body has not been found it is 4:36. expect to see some changes at the breakers rate. they will be at city hall to talk about race security. security will be tight in the wake of the boston marathon bombings. runners without bib numbers will be removed from the course.

today's kickoff event starts at 1:00. we are following a developing story out of texas, a wild and scary scene down there. rescue workers now sifting through all that rubble searching for survivors after several tornadoes simply tore through parts of north texas last night. at least six people are now confirmed dead. more than 100 others hurt. some seriously. officials say there are still 14 people unaccounted for in the granbury area. this is not too far from ft. worth. as you can see, the tornadoes just simply leveled entire neighborhoods, destroying homes, cars, uprooting trees there. complete devastation. the tornadoes were part of a storm system that brought heavy rains and what they are saying, grapefruit size hail to that area as well. i grew up in the midwest seeing big hail like golf balls. i can't imagine the devastation. >> you see all they had to go through. close to home, we are going to see some change in our forecast

today. want to check in with meteorologist, christina loren. want to make sure you are aware of this this morning. a lot of people aren't expecting rain showers as we head throughout the day. that will be the case. you need to break that umbrella back out. probably going to see a slower than average drive to work. i did want to point out, we do have quite a bit of heavy rainfall coming down across the greater bay area. this just started over the past hour. highways are getting nice and slick. we have quite a bit to get through as we head through the day. temperatures are mostly mild. the bulk of the moisture is going to come through right in the heart of your morning drive. i want to make sure you are ready for that. let's check on that drive. good morning to you. good morning. we will look over to the bay bridge. one of the toll lanes is blocked. down on the lower left, there is a chp officer there. we did see a caltrans truck as well. that is overnight construction. no major issues.

welcome back. at the shark tank, there is something that could mean trouble. forward, raffi torres is in new york city for a meeting with the disciplinary committee after a hit during tuesday night's game against the kings. there you see it. he could face a lengthy suspension. it would relieve the sharks, minus one of their starters. the sharks says if there is no suspension, torres could make it back into l.a. in times for tonight's game. with or without torres, the sharks do take the ice tonight at the staples center. they are looking to even the series at one game a piece. gametime is at 7:00 p.m. a live look outside, let's not forget the roaracle arena. they are hoping some bay area will help them with the san antonio spurs.

we haven't had rain for a while. when we don't have rain, all the oil that tends to accumulate on the highways, it gets loosened up by the accumulating rainwater. we do have enough for puddles and ponding. it is coming in quickly. i want to make sure your ready for this, specially if you are taking the little one toss school. it is kind of nice and refreshing to get these showers. summer is looming at this point. doppler radar tells the story. if you are heading in the east bay direction or waking up with us, watch out for slick conditions along 680. that will be the case for the next 20 to 30 minutes. that's where the rain developed. it is all pressing south into the south bay. the san jose for the most part is still nice and dry. you can see just to the south along 101 to morgan hill, nice and dry, these showers are headed that way. we are going to keep you updated as we head throughout the morning hours. in addition to the rain, we have strong winds out there as well. fairfield, out of the

convoy in afghanistan has killed at least six people, including two children and two nato service members. at least 35 other people were injured. the extent of those injuries, not known at this hour. a suicide attacker detonated a car packed with explosives in kabul. the explosion was apparently so powerful, it rattled buildings on the other side of the city. a muslim militant group has claimed responsibility for this deadly attack. 4:48. >> a 7-year-old child was among those killed following a pair of car bombings in baghdad. the two explosions happening in separate parts of the city. a total of 12 people were killed, including a child and more than 30 people injured. new video just into our newsroom. police arresting the man accused of a mother's day parade, a shooting that injures 19 people, including children. late last night, u.s. marshalls

arrested 19-year-old aquin scott. he was set to appear in court on unrelated charges we are expected to learn more about what caused the devastating fertilizer plant in west texas. state fire officials and atf investigators will release the preliminary results of a probe into the explosion that killed 14 and injured more than 200 and completely demolished sections of the small town. so far, investigators have ruled out a natural cause such as lightning. they also say water used to fight the initial fire did not contribute to the cause of the explosion os some had originally speculated. a tough go down in southern california where firefighters are dealing with a very fast-moving wild fire this morning. they are calling this one the grand fire. it started yesterday afternoon in the los padres national forest. you can see this burning strong. more than 3,000 acres right now caught in flames.

huge plumes of smoke can be seen from miles away. a school and campground have been evacuated. several rhodoads closed. the fire, 10% contained. the cause still under investigation. a heart-stopping moment for a mother in philadelphia when her stroller rolled off the platform and on to the tracks. the stroller started to roll away and it toppled over and her 14-month-old little girl was tossed into the tracks. >> hard to believe. >> the mother jumped down. good samaritans helped her pull the little girl and the stroller to safety. look at all the people running over to help. it looks like the woman got distracted and forgot to put the wheel brakes on the stroller. >> thank god that wasn't an electrified track. my goodness. >> you are right.

welcome back, thursday morning. we take you down to texas where it has been devastation. the small town of cleburne where tornadoes have ripped through the area. you can see homes decimated. right now, the death toll reported at six people dead, 14 others still missing. this has just been those tornadoes cutting through there. they also had hail reportedly the size of grapefruits down there. we will keep you posted as more information comes into our newsroom on that devastation from texas. >> it is 4:54 right now. new crash tests showing some small suvs might not be as safe as advertised. the insurance institute for highway safety tested 13 small suvs by crashing them into

happening near blossom and snell road. >> marla tallez has the latest. what are they telling you? >> reporter: they tell me it is going to be some time, at least 3 1/2, 4 more hours until this scene is cleared. this all happened about 1:20 this morning at least. that is when the 911 call came in to san jose police dispatch. i am going to step out of the way to give you a look. eight or so patrol cars out here. a man was pronounced dead by san jose fire. the man appears to have been assaulted. we have just learned he was assaulted with some sort of a weapon. what weapon that is, they aren't saying at this point. this is very early in the investigation. investigators are out here with the homicide
