you are going to see a lot of activity. lanes are closed this time on the right side. the clowslower lanes are closed southbound. two lanes headed down through the area. things get a little congested. they will move those crews over the next 45 minutes. we are looking at the rest of the southbound and northbound routes. no big concerns. we'll track it. stend back to y send it back to you. >> we will hear from the woman that was gang raped after her homecoming dance. the unnamed woman will reportedly take the stand during the trial of two of the men accused of attacking her. the trial will start today. 22-year-old jose montano and 21-year-old marcellus peters were accused of the attack on the grounds of richmond high school in 2009. they will sit together in the courtroom to hear much of the

same testimony. four other men were accused. two have reached plea deals and are already serving long prison sentences. coming up at 5:00, christie smith will be live in the east bay to explain why the rare dual trial is taking place police sending more officers out to a middle school after somebody sent a threatening note on campus. there will be increased presence at pleasanton middle school. the threat was written on a wall in the girl's bathroom. parents have been notified of the patrols and administrators are investigating that threat. >> they will hold a news conference to talk about the violence plaguing that city. hours ago, another shooting. three people were shot near the intersection of 13th and webster, a few blocks from the b.a.r.t. station. they believe all of the victims

will survive. they have not made any arrests. the shooting is the latest in a violent weekend in oakland. on sunday afternoon, one person was killed and two others injured after a shooting near international boulevard and 90th avenue. a new approach to fighting crime paid off after an emergency meeting this weekend focusing on an outbreak of violence. officers had the timing and the number of their patrols. police say saturday night, they came across a car full of alleged gang members in a rival gang's territory. police say they found a stolen gun in that car and arrested a total of four people. the department's efforts are a good start. the city needs to do more. >> we need to do something that is real and long term. we know how to do it. the police department knows better than any how to deal with gang violence and gang crimes. they need the resources and they need the people. we have some of the best officers you could ever have to other agencies. >> just last week, san jose saw a total of five homicides over a

seven-day span. police say they are now doing everything they can to help fight gang violence. >> bay area health officials are issuing a warning after a local woman contracted hepatitis a from frozen berries sold at costco. here they are. costco has pulled the townsend farms organic, anti-oxidant, blend, frozen berry mix from their shelves. if you have them, you should throw them away. costco has issued a warning about the berries last week. so far, 30 people in five states, including california, have ended up sick. >> we are most concerned that people that have this brand of frozen berries in their freezer don't eat it and throw it away. if they have eating it particularly in the past 14 days, we are asking people to contact their health care provider to find out if they can get a shot to protect themselves from hepatitis a. >> a 62-year-old woman from east contra costa county was

hospitalized after eating the berries. she has since recovered. hepatitis a start two to six weeks after exposure. symptoms include fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, jaundice and fatigue. four employees at a bay area art center are returning to work following an internal investigation surrounding alleged sexual abuse. walnut creek police arrested jason pedrozia. police arrested him for sexual contact with teenage girls. he has pleaded not guilty. the contra costa times says an internal review found the employees placed on leave did, in fact, behave appropriately. crews are still battling the fast-moving brush fire that's burned more than 22,000 acres. this is the so-called powerhouse fire burning 60 miles north of

los angeles in the palmdale area. thousands of firefighters are working to gain the upper hand on these flames, including 20 from santa clara county. they estimate 2800 people and 700 homes are under evacuation orders. they are expected to be out of their homes until late today or tomorrow. the fire is about 20% contained. we could find out as early as today the u.s. supreme court's decision on prop 8, california's ban on same-sex marriage. today, the courts will start handing down decisions on every case it has heard over the last nine months. decisions will be issued every monday this month and the supreme court usually leaves the most controversial rulings like prop 8 until the end of the month. nbc news will have a reporter and camera inside the court when the ruling is released. we will break in with a special report when an announcement is made. of course, you can always get the latest information on our website, nbc bay area.com. it is 4:37. if you have plans to take the

getting into that time of year where fire weather is a big concern, specially across the state of california. you want to be on the best of fire safety. a lot of people will be kamping. a lot of kids get off school this week. you want to make sure that fire is completely out before you leave it. more great tips on how to beat the heat. back to you, jon and marla. new video in of a deadly 6.2 magnitude earthquake in taiwan. here, you can see surveillance video from the island showing people trying to run for cover as the earthquake hit yesterday morning. according to local media reports, at least three people were killed. the quake damage streets and infrastructure sparked rock falls and landslides that blocked roads. more than 100 people have died in the fire at a poultry plant in china. a chinese media official expects that number to grow. workers were trapped inside the large concrete processing plant when the flames broke out. investigators say the fire appears to have started in the farm's electrical system. the fire department in the

northeast province says the blasts were caused by a pneumonia leak. a san francisco teen possibly swept over a waterfall in yosemite. the 19-year-old was swimming in the river when he suddenly disappeared over the inge of ede nevada falls. that was moving very quickly when it disappeared saturday. he was in the park with members of his church group. at this point, there is no word on exactly how long the search will go on. a central valley railway is shut down after a cargo train jumped the tracks and crashed this weekend. the train was traveling through a small town 15 miles south of modesto. investigators say 15 train cars derailed yesterday afternoon. one witness said the train appeared to be going unusually fast. it was not carrying anything hazardous. the track will be shut down at least until tomorrow for this
