passing rodeo coming down through sausalito, we had rock down on the roadway. one of the cars ended up hit by the rock. everything is okay now. a crash involving a big rig, all over on the slow lane. just fast lane gets by. unrelated to the construction that kicked off on sunday westbound. slowing only one lane. back to you. >> new this morning, the murder trial for olympic sprinter, os star pistorius, has been postponed until next month. hours ago, pistorius appearing in a south african courtroom for a pre-trial hearing. prosecutors asking the judge to postpone the trial until august 19th to give them more time to investigate. coincidentally, that date would have been his girlfriend, reeva steenkamp's 30th birthday. he is being charged with

murdering her on valentine's day. he claims he mistook her for an intruder and was acting in self-defense. one person is dead and another in the hospital in a shooting that ended in a crash in oakland. police found a car crashed into a pole on ghormley avenue. one of the victims had died by the time officers arrived. the second victim was rushed to a hospital and at last check is in stable condition. police have not released information on possible suspects san jose police have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of two teenagers last weekend. the suspects are teens themselves. one of them is 19-year-old matthew clifford of san jose. a 17-year-old was also arrested. his name has not been released. the san jose police covert response and metro units tracked down the suspects on saturday. the teenagers are suspected of shooting and killing 15-year-old

christian komlang and joshua kular two sundays ago. police do not believe the double shooting was gang related. clifford has been booked into the santa clara jail. the second suspect is at juvenile hall. assembly woman, nora compost, who lives in san jose, thinks police should ask the chp for help. she says, putting more officers on the ground could prevent another wave of violence. the acting police chief says he is not sold on the idea. there are no immediate plans to reach out to other law enforcement agencies for assistance. police are looking for your help trying to track down the man that attacked and groped a woman on a popular peninsula jogging trail. she was jogging along the palo alto bayland as nature preserve at 11:00 on sunday morning. a man started to follow her and

suddenly, he jumped on her back and then groped her. the woman did fight back. that suspect eventually took off when a couple of bicyclists approached. the woman, we are happy to report, was not hurt. police think that man followed another woman about 45 minutes earlier but did not attack her. they are right now looking for anybody who may have seen the man in that area. 4:35. the first witness will take the stand in the trial of two men accused of gang raping a high school girl four years ago. prior to testimony, opening statements will be made in the case of 22-year-old jose montano and 20-year-old marcelles peter, taking part in a dual trial. they have separate juries. testimony will be given once so the victim doesn't have to relive her nightmare more than once. opening statements were made in peters case yesterday. his attorney argued that his dna was likely mixed into the

evidence pool because of windy weather. >> a major mistake in the classroom could cost a bay area high school teacher his job. police say he accidentally showed his class a naked picture of himself. after 16 years working in that district, richard steiner at san leandro high school now facing serious charges this morning. steiner came under scrutiny back in april when he reportedly told staff he accidentally showed his class a naked picture of himself during a file sharing demo. school officials then called police and during a search of his school computer, investigators found child pornography and over 200 pornographic stories. steiner remains on unpaid administrative leave. some parents of the school very upset they were not notified. even though the class, the school has taken the lead in notifying the authorities, there

should be some notification to the parents. >> posting a statement on their website saying they are deeply concerned. steiner's attorneys say, no one should jump to conclusions or form opinion as to whether rick styner has committed a crime. there is not sufficient evidence to convict mr. styner of any crime. he is expected to answer to the child pornographic charge sometime in court. a new sickness linked to the frozen berries sold at costco. about 30 californians got sick with hepatitis a after eating the berries sold under the name of townsend farms anti-oxidant blend. a woman from contra costa county has already been affected. we are learning a man from alameda county also got sick from the berries. both have been treated from the hospital and have since been released. a southern california woman is

already taking legal action. linda brackenridge is suing costco and the makers of the berries. she is still in the hospital and isolated from other patients. she is expected to recover. >> it was the last thing i could have imagined was making me sick. they asked me if i had recently been in a third world country or if i ever used needles. >> if you have the berries, throw them out. >> santa clara county holding a special election for someone to take over for george shirakawa jr. they need 50% of the vote. he was forced to leave the board of supervisors after pleading guilty to abusing public funds. he is now expected to be sentenced this friday. it is also election day in

welcome back, a live look at the bay bridge. what you have seen is not what this artist intended. you remember the big light displays. hundreds of those lights are broken. some of the lights are stuck on. some are simply just completely turned off. so it is basically the lights that malfunctioned. this is what it is supposed to look like. hundreds of the 25,000 lights last month began to malfunction. they hoped to have the time to fix them in the next few days. >> have to work out some kinks ford is recalling almost

morning. this is what we are working with. you see where the white shading is at the immediate coast along the peninsula up in marin county. watch out for fog. that's where it is going to start to move in first. it will start to push past the bay over the bay bridge as we head throughout 7:00 to 9:00. it is going to nudge the area of low pressure out of here. we have a major warmup. we are going to add 20 degrees in some instances between today and saturday, which will be the warmest. when we talk about hot weather, dry, warm, downsloping winds, we have extended periods. we are going to watch for fire weather. not just saturday, sunday. every single day next week, all the way into father's day weekend, we have warm, dry weather. for the next couple of days, it is going to be nice. 80, livermore, 79 degrees in san jose. by thursday, back to the upper 80s. on friday, the real heat kicks

in. 98 degrees, friday, inland, dry north winds to couple with that heat, making for some very dangerous conditions in terms of fire. we are going to be watching that for you. make sure you are on your best behavior as well. clear that defensible space around your home. when it comes to mowing your lawn, a spark could be generated if you touch that metal to a rock. it is a good idea to not mow the lawn as we get into the weekend. the next couple of days, cool, marine air pumping in. back to you guys for now. happening now at 4:50, firefighters working through the night making more progress on the massive wild fire burning north of los angeles. the powerhouse fire is still threatening about 275 homes. cooler temps and lighter winds overnight have helped the firefighters. the 32,000 acre fire has destroyed at least six homes and damaged nine others. it is 60% contained. full containment is expected next week. a follow-up right now this

morning, prosecutors dropping the charges against 1 of 5 people accused of killing a man in his montasirono home. he was treated at a south bay hospital during the time ravi kumra was killed. new details about the snapped tree blocking lombard street yesterday. san francisco's department of public works says while the exact cause of the 35-foot-tree falling has not yet been determined, it was rotting inside for a very long time. the city says it is not examining any other in the area. we are happy to report despite that car getting crushed, no human was hurt. >> just old age. >> i know the feeling. >> 4:51. 49ers coach, jim harbaugh, pays a visit to his favorite tv show where he was caught on camera next.
