bob redell is live at o.co coliseum. ba bartolo colon and melky cabrera could face even more suspensions? >> reporter: this entire scandal, good morning to you, marla, which broke last night could lead to the suspensions of at least 20 major league baseball players. in two days an informant for major league baseball is expected to link a's pitcher bartolo colon, melky cabrera and yankees star alex rodriguez to performance-enhancing drugs. anthony bosch, founder of the now closed biogenesis. he has agreed to give these names in exchange for them dropping a lawsuit against bosch. colon was suspended for elevated

levels of testosterone. so was melky cabrera, who was back at at&t park last night in a game for the giants, first time playing since last year's suspension. he said last night he was unaware of this report and if he was suspended again, it would be a harsh punishment because he he already served his sentence. bosch is expected to name yankees superstar alex rodriguez, who before has admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs and ryan braun who plays for the milwaukee brewers, which will play the oakland a's this morning starting around 11:00. and for the athletics, bartolo colon. crews working very hard just pulled an suv out of the water at berkeley aquatic park. this ended up there, following an overnight chase.

officers started following a black range rover on the bay bridge at 10:30 last night. through berkeley ended up at the aquatic park. they drove the suv right directly into the water, unable to get out of the vehicle and then swim his way back to shore on his own. he was able to do that. the officers then immediately took him into custody. no word yet on any charges that he will be facing. but the chp tells us it believes he might have been -- actually had a run-in with the san francisco police before this chase started. >> 5:03. investigators in fremont are still trying to figure out what caused a horrific crash that killed a 3-year-old boy. the boy's father and mother are both in the hospital this morning. his mother is clinging to life. fremont police say the car he was in was speeding down the parkway yesterday afternoon when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree. the 3-year-old boy was thrown from the car and died at the

scene. the milpitas family was reportedly headed to a water park. >> oakland police are searching for a man they say is responsible for a dangerous crime spree all across the city. police believe this man, 26-year-old jamar cleveland, is connected to two shootings, three carjackings and at least two possible kidnappings in the span of an hour and 15 minutes. this all started around 10:45 yesterday morning. police say cleveland shot a woman, then carjacked another person to get away, then police say he he carjacked two more people before shooting another person. both of the victims, good news, they are expected to survive. if you happen to see this man, you're asked to please call the oakland police department. >> third grade teacher in union city accused of molesting students in his classroom will face a judge today. 47-year-old michael howie is expected to answer to 40 charges of child molestation on the campus of alvarado elementary

school. accusing him of isolating female students, giving them long hugs, rubbing their bellies and kissing them on the mouth. nine victims from alvarado called their teacher's actions disgusting and uncomfortable. a former richmond elementary school aide has admitted in court to molesting his students. 58-year-old jeffrey jones, pleading guilty to molesting nine girls at richmond college prep. according to prosecutors, all the victims were between sp 7 and 10 years old and the crimes happened between the 2010 and 2011 school year. most of the victims claimed jones touched them over their clothing, but others say he reached under their shirts and their pants. jones' plea agreement calls for five years in prison and lifetime registration as a sex offender. san jose man facing felony charges for smashing his car through a walmart store is

expected to enter a plea in court today. he crashed his car in east san jose back in march. witnesses say he got out of the car and began attacking customers with a metal club. he was eventually tackled by several people and held until police arrived. zayed is also accused of driving a car into a san jose gas station late last year. causing some unforeseen headaches for soon-to-be graduates. security will be tight in san ho jose, trouble for 400 students of bernal intermediate school. they're supposed to graduate tomorrow afternoon. because the president is in town, the roads to that area will be shut down. the school principal is now encouraging students to take light rail. the president's visit is also expected to cause trouble for downtown businesses. president obama is scheduled to leave town friday morning. 5:06. susan g. komen's upcoming three-day walk in san francisco

will be its last in the city by the bay. christie smith is live in san francisco with why the breast cancer charity is canceling the event all together. christie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. we're at their offices in san francisco on o'farrell street. the organization is saying this is a really difficult decision but their three-day walk brought a lot of attention to breast cancer, but their participation levels are difficult to sustain. in fact, they've been dropping off. what that means is that san francisco will be one of seven cities where the signature walk is canceled next year in 2014. participation at komen races have been down since its founder tried to stop sending funds to planned parenthood. in the past, the susan g. komen thr three-day walk in the bay area has attracted thousands of people, trying to end breast cancer and fund research. it's one of their biggest

fund-raising tools, in fact. the walk held in 14 cities canceled in seven. now next year, this is what this is about -- this year's walk still happening. the cities canceled are san francisco, washington, d.c., phoenix, boston, chicago, cleveland and tampa bay, because those are the cities, apparently, not meeting the big fund-raising goals. this won't affect the well-known race for the cure in california. if you're still interested, this will still be going on, the three-day walk, in san diego. reporting live in san francisco, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> thank you very much. it is 5:08 right now. let's check in with meteorologist christina loren as temperatures continue to rise. >> oh, yeah. we'll get one more nice day, though. good morning to you. temperatures start rising as of tomorrow. then they really start climbing as we head through friday into saturday. today, not too bad. this is the reason why. we're getting plenty of low clouds overhead this morning. now low clouds yesterday forced

welcome back in. it is 5:13. pilots are back in the cockpit of the 787. that doesn't mean they're happy about it. scott mcgrew, the pilots union facing concerns even after they say the battery problems are fixed. >> pilots say boeing didn't give them a way of watching those batteries, monitoring them, something wereo go wrong again. ana and other airlines stopped flying the boeing 787 dreamliner

after a number of short circuits caused small fires. the japanese pilots union tells "the new york times" this morning pilots think boeing should have added more battery monitoring equipment to the plane's cockpit so the pilots could keep an eye on that new situation. the federal government says certain models of jeep may catch fire if hit from behind. national highway traffic safety administration says many versions of the jeep grand cherokee and this, the jeep liberty, should be recalled. chrysler has said no. in a statement, chrysler says the cars meet or exceed all safety standards. let's get a check of the markets this morning. cnbc's courtney regan is live at their world headquarters. >> markets are flat after the dow snapped its streak of tuesday gains of 20 straight weeks. fed policy, we'll get data on private sector job growth.

we'll soon find out what's next for a city college of san francisco. california's largest community college was given a sanction last year after numerous violation violations in the institution's operations. today, an accreditation board will discuss whether the school has made enough changes to keep its doors open. the commission will meet for three days and we can expect it will keep a tight led on that process. the commission's reports will likely be released early next month. two dead birds found in san mateo have tested positive for west nile virus. they are the first cases of west nile found in that county this year. according to the california department of public health, 20 cases have been found statewide, including one human case in sacramento. west nile virus is transmitted by mosquito bites. people are advised to drain any standing water to keep mosquitos from breeding. a follow-up for you this morning. remember that san jose woman best known for planting part of a finger in her bowl of chili? >> impo be to forget. >> yeah.

she will soon be back behind bars. san jose mercury news reports she will serve two years in prison for lying to police after her son accidentally shot himself in the ankle. her son is a convicted felon and is not supposed to have a gun. she became infamous, spending four years in prison after she lied about finding that severed finger in a bowl of wendy's chili in 2005. hepatitis a connected to the frozen berries sold at costco. 22-year-old woman from santa clara county was hospitalized townsend farms organ ic frozen blend. they pulled those berries off their shelves last week. pg&e substation in south san jose. in this video released, watch closely. sparks of light from the bullets that hit the substation near

designer items have been confisca confiscated by police. nicky's european fashion was busted in a sting, making several undercover purchases from the shop in that investigation. after confirming the purchase items were, in fact, fake, police returned to that store to seize products. it's yet to be determined whether or not the store owner will be prosecuted. >> a new report out on how much time we're spending in traffic each day. congestion increased 25% between april this year and april of last. it makes san jose the seventh most congested city in america and the 28th in the entire world. commuters spent 31 hours in traffic last year. in san francisco, congestion increased 22%, making it the third most congested city in america and the tenth most congested in the world. most congested hour of commute

reporting live outside o.co here in oakland, bob redell for "today in the bay." an officer shooting and killing an armed man. around 7:00 last night, police got a call of a loud verbal and physical argument on a boat in the vallejo marina. a man pointed a gun at the officer who responded to that call. fearing for his safety, the officer shot the man. he was pronounced dead. no one else was hurt. trying to find the men responsible for three brazen armed robberies. bank robberies, that is. we'll show you the surveillance individu video featuring one of those men at the cathay bank in millbrae monday. this trio is likely also connected to another robbery in san francisco monday. the same three are believed responsible for a third robbery at a wells fargo bank on irving

street in san francisco. that happened april 19th. police say in all three robberies, the men jumped behind the teller's counter and took the money. withins in two of those robberies say the suspects ended up taking off in a lighter color, older model sedan similar to a ford taurus. police released a sketch of a man who groped a woman on a popular jogging trail. take a look at this sketch. police are looking for an hispanic or biracial man in his 20s wearing clear stud earrings. he may also have tattoos on his arms. he was following a woman on the trail in the baylands nature preserve when he jumped on her back and groped her. she fought him off. two bicyclists scared him away p police have stepped up patrols on that trail. hiring private security because it says it doesn't trust san jose police to keep its kids safe. administrators at cherrywood elementary in northeast san jose

say they will bring in two security officers for peace of mind. they called police monday afternoon after a strange man was caught peeping into a classroom window and police told them officers were too busy answering a higher priority call. a janitor at the school then drove that man off but the man was later found in the girls bathroom. when school officials called the police, they were told officers would be sent out, but police just didn't show up. san jose police say they actually called the school and were told they were no longer needed but the school district counters that fact. they say that police called back after everything was over. >> thought that we could not get support when we needed it. it was very troubling. i'm superintendent. i'm responsible for almost 8,000 kids. their priority is my number one every day. >> we can tell you that man in question did go back to that school yesterday. this time the police did show up and they arrested him in a nearby neighborhood. surprising news from the

susan g. komen foundation. this year's three-day cancer walk will be the last held in the bay area and in several other major cities. organizers are canceling the event next year, blaming low turnout in recent events. company is expected to -- it released this information. they are expected to add another 7,400 jobs and bring $2.1 billion more for local businesses. cupertino would also receive more than $4 million more a year in taxes. there is a flaw in this plan. even.jáñ campus two won't be bi enough to hold all of apple's employees. if they hire 7,400 workers by the time campus two opens for business it will have more than 23,000 local workers. if you do the math, campus two only holds about 14,000 emplo e employees and the infinite loop holds 3,000. the company will need to find space for 6,000 other employees. when the times pose this had problem to apple, the company declined to comment. >> marla, a serious blow to
