choices. the president is scheduled to deliver his remarks at the fairmont hotel in san jose hotel just before 9:00. he will leave town from moffatt field. he heads to an exclusive estate for a meeting with china's brand new president. this is his plane after it landed. he is in indian wells after the two-day summit with president obama. they will be talking about the economy, the growing concern over north korea and american's concern over chinese cyberhacking this morning's speech by the president will focus on obama care. a lot of people wondering what exactly is obama care. we can tell you it is a controversial health care plan that went into effect january 1st. you cannot be denied coverage based on pre-existing medical conditions. you are mandated to buy insurance and subsidies will be

17-month-old baby boy in the south bay will enter his plea in court. san jose police arrested 38-year-old ala haan dro benetiz, the boyfriend of the babysitter looking after the baby at that time. not only will he be sentenced but former county supervisor, george shirakawa jr. will be rained on a brand new charge, specifically felony impersonation. they have d.n.a. evidence linking him to bogus fliers mailed out in 2010 meant to discredit a city council candidate. he is being punished today for using campaign funds to fuel a gambling addiction. he took the plea in exchange for leniency. his punishment will likely be supervised probation over in the east bay, extra pall patrols will be on hand at

diablo middle school. a student found a threatening hand-written message in one of the girl's bathrooms. it sparked an investigation that involved taking writing samples from the student. they don't believe the threat is credible. they are not taking any chance employees at a local doughnut shop are getting death threats over their plan to give out doughnuts filled with trois gra moose. california has banned the sale of the goose livers. the shop is getting around the ban because they are giving away the doughnuts for free. the threats are coming from animal rights activists that say the making of trois gra is anima animal cruelty.

bridge. they are ready to move that and track it. back to you. >> i know you are all pumped up for this one. as we mentioned earlier today, it is national doughnut day. standing ovation all the way around. the other good news is local doughnut shops are using today to help a very good cause. krispy kreme, psycho doughnuts and dunkin doughnuts giving out free doughnuts to encourage donations to the salvation army. national doughnut day is part of the salvation army history. during world war i, the salvation army sent volunteers over to france where they made doughnuts for soldiers fighting out on the front line. starting in 1938, the group officially launched national doughnut day, which is, of course, today, june 7th. i can't wait to get my hands on some of those. in honor of the history of national doughnut day, the salvation ormmy will deliver donuts to several bay area first responders, police officers, firefighters, sheriff deputies

new software next week. courtney reagan is live with what they are expected to show off and a look at futures. good morning. futures are mixed right now. we are still waiting for the big economic report of the day, the may jobs numbers. the data is being very closely watched amid concerns of the economy and talk that the federal reserve may soon start scaling back at stimulus programs. better the economy gets the higher chance that could occur. economists expect another month of job gains roughly in line with 165,000 added in april with the unemployment rate seen holding steady at 3.5%. the dow posted its biggest comeback reversing a decline. apple is expected to show off new software for the iphone and ipad at the company's annual developer's conference. the new irs will be launched

56, oakland. 52. kind of a nice start in santa rosa where you will hit the mid-90s today. santa rosa, down to a mile and three dw three-quarters of visibility. for us, it is going to be a hot one. oh, i don't think we are going to see partly cloudy conditions move all the way into concord. expecting a mostly clear start from fairfield down south to livermore where it will be the hottest as we completely cut off that coolant. 99 in fairfield. 74, san francisco. 81, fremont. this is not it. we are going to be even warmer tomorrow as we have a warmer start. temperatures tomorrow morning will be in the 70s in some cities. this is where we are expecting to end up at the coast, 74, saturday, bayside, 86, 99 degrees inland. then, temperatures tumble as we get into your sunday. an area of low pressure races into the area. that's going to drop your temperatures by 20 degrees between saturday and sunday and bring in some coastal drizzle. that cooling will continue on

"the washington post" uncovering a secret program called prism. it allows the fbi and national security to tap directly into the computers of companies like apple, google, yahoo! youtube, and facebook, all for the purpose of tracking down spies and terrorists. now, the post says the government is monitoring things like e-mails, instant messages, videos, photos, and social network profile details. this information is really disturbing considering we have laws in this country as well as the fourth amendment that should

protect our privacy. >> we have reached out to all of these companies for some kind of re, a. every one of them denies giving the government direct access to their services. the director of national intelligence is declassifying documents to calm the recent war over the government surveillance program in addition to reports of spying on internet activity earlier this week. it was revealed the nsa is receiving daily reports from verizon wireless about who customers call and for how long those calls last. the obama administration says the surveillance prevented specific attacks. >> it doesn't bother me one bit for the national security administration to have my phone number. what they are trying to do is find out what terrorist groups we know about and individuals and who the hell they are calling. nsa director, james clapper, is planning to declassify some documents he is not happy about the disclosure. he says america's security will

suffer. not to be confused with belgium's prince felipe, prince philip in london, who turns 92 this monday, spent thursday night in the private london clinic where he is expected to stay for two weeks. new video showing a helicopter crash in the hills near los angeles. look at this closely. you can see it just crash in just a moment there. you can hear the oh, my gosh. four people managed to escape major injuries after this helicopter made a hard landing in the hills near l.a. the crash happened yesterday afternoon in griffith park off of interstate 5. it is unclear what caused the chopper to go down. officials say mechanical problems may be to blame. all four people on board were able to walk away. faa records show the helicopter was built in 2006 and oenwned ba company based in colorado. four very lucky people. 4:51. a big day for one bay area
