welcome back to the subway intermission report. getting set for overtime hockey in game one of the stanley cup final. how about the chicago team. they follow that up by taking on a team that has the second most hits in the boston bruins. is chicago giving and taking? >> they are. they faired very well in that department. the hawks in the first ten minutes were out hitting the boston bruins. that trend has been even. seabrook comes up with big contact. shaw on mcquaid in the fore-check. bolland is there to city set up a big hit by bickell.

what should we be alert to as we head into the fourth period? >> eddie: the long change. your defensive zone is the farthest way away from your bench so for the boston bruins your left defenseman and winger have to be absolutely sure when they make the change. for the chicago blackhawks, it's their right winger and defenseman. change before you're tired. make sure the puck is going away from your defensive zone before you come off the ice because that long pass could end up being the difference between a two on two and a two-on-one coming against your goaltender. >> mike: fifth overtime game for the blackhawks. they've won three. sixth overtime game for the bruins, they've won four. same units to begin as have begun the prior three.

more by krejci. he must wait, played back around. it is outletted. drop back over for oduya. rushed by seidenberg. bounced on to horton. horton sailed around. more changes in lines. grabbed and held by rask. what is the length of a shift in overtime compared in regulation play would you guess? >> eddie: i think it certainly is much shorter, doc, in the first overtime because of how far your defensive zone is from your bench. normally 30, 35 seconds, 40 seconds when you talk about regulation into overtime, but that long change of the first overtime you're probably looking to go up and down and off. you don't want an extended

overti overtime. considering what you saw, how surprised are you that we are heading into double overtime? >> really surprised. both teams exchanging opportunities. i'll stay here all night to watch overtime hockey like that. bang, bang at both ends of the ice. crawford comes up with a nice save. chances sliding through the slot. just missed by tyler sequin. pinching "d." ending up with opportunities at the other end. paille with a nice play to thornton. crawford comes up with a couple of big saves on the fourth line as the bruins try to get it done. sequin jumping in with a rebound chance. they just kept on coming. >> we weren't cutting videotape. every ten seconds, take this one, take this one. there were some great near miss sz for both clubs either way. if this keeps going, i don't see it lasting much longer. >> not the finest game of the postseason for both goaltenders. what did you see from them? >> i thought they were both

welcome back to chicago. we're getting set for double overtime hockey in game one between chicago and boston. in the pregame we talked so much about both these teams defenses. for chicago who's stood out. >> hjalmarsson, oduya. oduya picked up the goal. they got this game tied. a one on one he's been outstanding. defending done a good job. rozsival helping out there as he gets a nice blocked shot. lucic gets in. look at the diving play by oduya to get back. oduya and hjalmarsson. he moves the puck out.

the rush. there's nothing they should be afraid of especially with the way corey crawford seems totally at ease in the overtime. >> you know what's interesting for me, jaromir jagr got better as the overtime moved along. when everybody else starts to slow down a little bit. jagr looks as fast as he did 20 years ago. he did create scoring chances. to me moving forward i'll be watching him in the double overtime. >> if fatigue is not a factor for him, is it more of a factor for one of these two teams? >> i don't think so. they've bounced back and finished off their previous opponents in pretty good order. at the end of regulation chicago took advantage of that and went after them. they came out with plenty of legs in the overtime. they've had plenty of time to go here. >> if horton is out, that's one less guy for the boston bruins. it could be a fatigue issue. they're having to shorten that
