this crash is between 880 and the off-ramp. a motorcycle driver called to report someone had driven him off the road. that's not polite behavior. minor slowing, but the slowing you see only down to just below the speed limit. northbound we have slowing for 880 past the coliseum. there are construction crews in the area. i'll turn the cameras over and see what i can see you in the next report. new details this morning on morgan hills' very first homicide of the year. police arresting 60-year-old michael shepherd. officers say shepherd lives in a morgan hill mobile home park located on monterey road which is right near where the body was found. saturday morning the body of a 40-year-old woman was discovered by a passerby. shepherd expected to make his first court appearance on wednesday. opening statements will begin today for alleged serial killer joseph naso.

he's representing himself in the murder trial. the 79-year-old self-employed modeling photographer stands accused of killing four women. their bodies were found between 1977 and 1994 in yuba, marin and contra costa counties. the trial is expected to last until mid november. "today in the bay's" marla tellez will update us in our next half hour. a south bay man charged with molesting two young girls along with an 8-year-old girl with the mental capacity of a kindergarten. joaquin bailey arrested and charged last year with three felly counts of lewd acts on a child and one count of sexual assault on an incapable person. bailey worked at a group home and as a teacher's aide. bailey remain ms. the santa clara county jail without bail. 4:33. pacifica police released a sketch of a man they say tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.

police say the man approached the girl near the pacifica pier. when she refusioned, he tried to physically force her. she fought back, punching him, then running away. if you know who this is, call pacifica police. a pair of bills aimed at making california limousines safer this week. a senate committee considering a bill introduced by state senator ellen corbett that would require two doors and two emergency window exits in the passenger section of all limousines by 2015. tomorrow a separate bill being introduced by jerry hill would require all limousines to carry fire extinguishers, both in response to two recent limo fires. ten women in wall net creek narrowly escaping a five. last month five women tragically died in lame mow fire on the san mateo bridge. this morning a concord woman is fighting for her life after

drinking antifreeze and jumping into a 15-foot storm drain. the 26-year-old apparently drink antifreeze, then called a mother and aunt. when the women arrived an argument started. that's when the mother called 911, fearing for her daughter's safety. when deputies arrived, she lifted this 40-pound metal grate and jumped into the storm drain. more than an hour later, firefighters repelled down to the drain and pulled her to safety. >> she is in icu and they have her hooked up to a breathing tube. we're waiting to hear back. >> it's unclear how much antifreeze she drank. family and friends say she does suffer from a mental condition. the los gatos town council add holding a public hearing tonight. a new ordinance would require all firearms dealers to get a

permit before selling firearms. it was drafted after public outrage over sem particular sports that sells firearms in los gatos. templar's owner says he followed proper permit procedure. many council members are upset that there was no public meeting before templar opened up. the night's meeting startsds at 7:00 at town council chambers. apple is releasing details about what the federal government wanted to know about the cupertino's customers. between december 1st and may 31 zlt oov this year, the government issued between 4,000 and 5,000 requests for customer data. the government must get a court order if it wants customer content. the requests covered both criminal investigations and national security matters, most commonly from place investigating robberies or searching for missing children. you may remember on friday facebook issued similar numbers

crash reported on chp activity report. all issues on the shoulder. no problem as far as the flow of traffic heading towards the san mateo bridge. a look farther south. fremont moves nicely. the truck scales on your right, the auto mall parkway sign in fremont, a smooth drive toward mission boulevard. in this area there's other stuff going on. i'm going to hand it off to you. >> it's a major lengthy road closure starts today. warren avenue between cato road and mission falls court will be closed for a whole year as crews work on the b.a.r.t. extension to san jose. bta says the change will reduce congestion for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers in the area. expect more traffic through the tom lantos tunnels. caltrans will implement one-way traffic control in the area through thursday night to stripe the pavement. closures will run from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. every day.

welcome back everyone. a good monday morning to you. that will help you start your workweek, right? >> that's right. the lights there flickering. >> glistening on a monday morning. that's a live look from the south bay. 4:43. a solar-powered airplane that took off from the bay area has almost completed its cross country journey. we have video of the solar impulse landing at dulles airport near washington, d.c. last night. the one-man aircraft began the trek at moffett field relying only on solar energy absorbed on those panels on its massive wings. the plane and its crew will spend a couple of weeks in washington, d.c. before taking off for the final leg of its journey to new york city.

>> monday is not the easiest day of the week, let's face it, especially at 4:45 in the morning, about to be 4:46. that means you're one minute later as we head throughout the day today, temperatures will be comfortable. want to point out, trying to get to the airport, no fog to slow you down. no delays out of sfo or san jose or oakland for that matter. wheel let you know as things change. after all, people now into their summer break. and it's back-to-business, back-to-work monday. as we head throughout the day today, 52 to start. san francisco at 54 degrees. in the south bay temperatures are nice and comfortable to start. 57, for instance, in sunnyvale. here is what we're looking at. area of low pressure will sit and spin in the pacific northwest and it's going to bring quite a bit of rainfall to places like seattle down south through oregon. for us, we'll see the cooling impacts with the strong onshore flow. not so much today, but tomorrow

just moments ago he spoke to a group of about 2,000 students describing them as, quote, the generation of peace. he also told them there was a time when a gathering like this was simply unimaginable. later today president obama meeting with russia's president vladimir putin to discuss topics ranging from syria to arms control. summit host, british prime minister david cameron expects negotiations to start soon for a european north american free trade agreement. he says a pact to slash taxes on exports would boost employment and growth on both sides of the atlantic. cameron met with russia's president yesterday to talk about syria. a series of weekend classes between police and protesters in turkeys. turkish police continue to guard the square this morning. over the weekend police kicked out the protesters of the park,

ending an 18-day peaceful protest. it sparked unrest in a number of turkish cities leading the a series of demonstrations. protesters claim the prime minister is becoming increasingly authoritarian. firefighters trying to get an upper hand on a fire east of maripo mariposa. the carsten fire burned about 1,000 acres there. so far there's zero containment. there are evacuation orders in effect. so far, happy to report, no reports of injuries or so far no word of any buildings being destroyed or damaged. crews in colorado have the largest wildfire in state history now 65% contained. that is a big improvement. crews hopingtion to have the 22-square mile black forest fire under control by thursday. it's already destroyed nearly 500 homes out there. fire officials now saying some
