this is on the right side of the toll plaza. the rest of the lanes are clear. no problems by chp. i'll keep tracking it as we start to watch the backup start to happen. eastbound 24, a slowdown off highway 13 off the caldecott. typical as the traffic starts to bump up. westbound we see a crash also reported around gateway. it's a single car spinout into the center divide. >> thanks a lot, mike. brand new details about the sudden death of "some pran knows" star james gandolfini, best known for his role as mob boss tony soprano. italian media are reporting that he died in a bathroom. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. our nbc reporters in italy telling us he was staying at the hotel boscolo in rome when he suffered a heart attack. also by law, he will need an

expedition authorization for his remains to be sent back here to the united states. he was scheduled to appear at a film festival as a guest of honor and deliver a speech on saturday. gandolfini was 51 years old. also new this morning, a taliban spokesperson has offered to release a u.s. soldier held captive since 20 09d in exchange for five of their senior operatives being held at guantanamo bay. u.s. army sergeant bo berg doll disappeared in eastern afghanistan in 2009. in a telephone conversation with the associated press t spokesperson said he believed berg doll was in good position. he also said the taliban wants to build bridges of confidence. the u.s. is scrambling to build talks after angry complaints from afghan president hamid karzai. new details about a shooting in san jose leaving a teenager now clinging to life. san jose police telling us that boy is, in fact, still alive but

in grave condition. he was shot after 6:00 last night on virginia avenue near the rancho dell pueblo golf course. police haven't identified a suspect 507s. they say motive remains unclear. we are in contact with police and will of course be bringing you any new information if this situation changes. 4:34. dozens of women and women arrested in santa clara county's biggest gang bust in history will be back in court. the alleged members of the nuestra familia gang could enter pleas. 34 men and women made their first court appearance face ag variety of charges including robbery, drug sales and murder. a bar fight of sorts is brewing in the quiet upscale city of sarah toga. >> it's a bar. it's a freaking bar. i don't care what kind, you understand? >> okay. >> you can see tempers flaring out of the future mesa bar. the owner says he's planning to

serve small plates but also applied for a liquor license at that restaurant. the restaurant will be open until 2:00 in the morning and has the green light from the city, but some neighbors are worried it will be a full-blown bar. one man says the restaurant's parking lot is just 50 feet away from his children's bedroom windows. >> what do you think? what is the range of behavior that people can exhibit when they are intoxicated with alcohol? can it be lewd behavior? you betcha. >> not everybody agrees. fellow restaurant owners say that the downtown area is, quote, dead and the meza bar will bring new life. the owner once owned the now closed kit cat strip club. the owner currently out of town but says he will be planning the meet with neighbors to answer any of their concerns when he returns in august. >> it is a big day for facebook. we're hours away from the social

media giant unveiling a new product in menlo park. rumors already swirling as many expect facebook to announce video for instagram. service would be similar to vine which is opened by twitter and would allow user to create and share short video clips. our cameras will be there for the big announcement. we'll bring it to you as soon as we can on nbc bay area news at 11:00 this morning. we go from facebook to google. later today about 100 protesters expected to gather outside the company headquarters in mountain view. the protesters arguing the security contractor that google users does not give officers enough hours to make a living in the bay area. most work only part time and do not qualify for benefits for sick days. during today's rally the protesters will deliver a letter to google signed by more than 3,300 activists, labor leaders and elected officials. this morning the oakland

place department will introduce the five district commanders. earlier this year the police department began implementing its neighborhood policing plan. part of that plan was to put captains and lieutenants in charge of five police districts that together make up the entire city of oakland. today those leaders will discuss crime reduction and prevention plans tailored for their individuals areas. trouble is looming for b.a.r.t. as a potential strike goes on and riders could be caught right in the middle of this. the contract for b.a.r.t.'s union employees expires in ten days. union leaders, b.a.r.t.'s state mediators are negotiating a new contract. this morning employees will be handing out flyers to b.a.r.t. passengers detailing safety issues being left out of the negotiations. all the conflict -- all this conflict has riders concerned their mode of transportation could be cut off. >> i don't really know how people would deal -- i think it would cause a lot of stress, a lot of money issues for people. >> i couldn't commute from

4:44. mark zuckerberg getting top marks when it comes to business etiquette. he met south korea's president greeting her with a handshake and a slight bow. south korean television compares zuckerberg's previous meetings with bill gates and larry page. the news says of the three, zuckerberg was the most respectful. in april gates was criticized after he shook the south korean's president's hand with one hand in his pocket. he also had his jacket unbuttoned. page reportedly shook the president's hand the correct way with both hands but didn't bow the way sikher berg did. really the polite thing is not even offer your hand to a woman until she offers it to you. >> i do know i feel better now that i bow to you, lgc. the markets trying to rebound this morning after a

still publishing articles, accused of sex crimes against children overseas when he fled to mexico. the fbi says he has at least ten victims between the ages of 9 and 17. one month ago today we remember the devastating ef5 tornado touching down in moore, oklahoma, destroying so much of that town. this morning the people of moore still there. you can see cleaning up and dealing with a brand new issue called tornado cough. here is the deal. after a tornado, mold, drywall, fiberglass, all these things are thrown up into the air. that triggers an allergic reaction. doctors say it's the same issue many first responders had to deal with after the 9/11 attacks at the world trade center. tornado cough can be deadly if somebody breathes in the particles over a long period of time. listen to this story. an amazing catch from the daughter of legendary baseball figure. christina torre is the daughter of former yankee manager joe torre.

she says she was sitting at a cafe in new york when somebody screamed that a baby was dangling from a fire escape. when the boy fell, hitting his head on a restaurant awning before amazingly falling right into her arms. >> luckily he just landed in my arms. i feel quite lucky that i was just in the right spot and was able to catch him and he's alive. >> the good lord puts you in a position where you're there, and a child's life is in the balance, in your hands literally. it feels good to me and i know it did to her. >> police say the parents were asleep when the toddler wandered to that window. they've been charged with child endangerment. the window now has guards on it thanks to the family's pastor. right place, right time, right catch. >> right person to be there. it's in her genes, her dna, joe torre's daughter, right there, good hands. lucky the baby is okay. 4:51.
