she was supposed to come on a few days ago and canceled it. she's rescheduled. as the days are going on there's more and more fallout. we talked about how -- well, smithfield foods are the latest -- >> they're the ham folks. >> they're the ham folks. >> the biggest in the world, i think. >> they said they're dropping her. they said smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind. it's important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned so they've severed ties with her. >> still waiting on word from qvc. here's the thing though. i'm concerned about the direction this thing is going. the facts are not yet in. this lawsuit that's taking place is not -- was just in the discovery process when -- and this stuff allegedly has happened. so i'm just a little worried that we are condemning a person -- i don't know the facts. i don't think anybody knows the facts yet. put yourself -- i've been in that position where i've been accused of something horrendous that ended up wasn't true at

all. and it takes a long time to get your reputation back. i feel for her -- it may all be true. but the point is we don't know yet. >> we don't know. >> and i don't think we should judge somebody until we have the facts. she's innocent until proven guilty. >> yeah, i think you're right about that. i think the weird thing is that what she talked about she said happened 23 years ago. but as these things are -- >> can pile up. >> yeah. sometimes like it is almost like you shake the trees and someone else says, oh, this happened, then there is an interview that was on some "new york times" website. >> i know that doesn't look great. >> so things happen. i think, as you watch it, i think she needs to do damage control pronto to see if this thing can stop. they've done polls, i think "access hollywood" did one and 77% of the people said they love her and are sticking by her. look, she said some things that were not great and this is what her kids said this morning on cnn. they said that their mother is not a racist and they claim the case is really extortion and character assassination. here's the quote.

i said yes. she goes i just want you to know when you were accused of that, i went out and i bought five of your dresses because i knew it wasn't true. so the facts will come out. and i'm hoping that she will ultimately -- i hope the paula deen that we know from being here will be exonerated. if the other paula deen proves to be that person, that racist person, then yes, you've got to pull the stuff. we don't know yet. >> you don't. i think there were some questions in judgment beyond the race issue. and i think we remember when people -- there was rumblings that she had diabetes and she came out on this show, talked about the diabetes and on the very same day endorsed a product for diabetes. and that didn't sit well with people. so i think there were other things, not just this, but i think there were other things brewing that made people stutter step. >> made you uncomfortable but it certainly wasn't illegal. you know what i'm saying? i think what's going to happen is tomorrow matt is going to do his typical, amazing, insightful, fair interview with

>> first and only time you'll see me in an apron. first trick is for your hair because we all have summer hair that needs help. this is marielle. her hair is a little fine. okay? so here's the trick. this is the mistake that people make. you take a round brush. if you want to get a little height, just go to the root and tease it a little bit and let it sit because it will fall and put the hair drier on it. when you put the hair dryer on, the trick is to move it. don't go like this because it will burn the hair. and a lot of people make that mistake. marielle is so brave. now if you have thicker hair, the same thing we know like this. you just have the nozzle on the top where the nozzle is and blow it down. >> what's the trick? >> where the nozzle is. it has to be above. a lot of people do it straight on. >> what's the specific point? >> nobody would have known that. the specific point. >> i understand. i was a little dazed -- >> see what happens when you wear a smock. you can't think.

>> why is there oil? >> sunflower oil. a lot of us have this in the house. rub this in your hands and it contains an ultraviolet filter that helps protect color and highlights. put it in right before you go out in the sun. if you're going to the beach, don't put on the root because it will make it oily. it will help keep your color. >> it's pretty. shiny. only sunflower. . >> not all of us can be a natural blond. >> does crisco work? >> crisco would probably fry it. i'll try it this weekend. okay. trick with emollient or anything you put in your hair, people overdo it. if it is clumpy in your hand, it will be clumpy in your hair. it is time to ditch that product. it is the amount you use. always use about a dime. the point of this one is to not overuse product and to emulsify. oh, no, no. this is a general point when you use any emollient product, gel, for your hair. >> for your hair. >> you hub it together, yeah, so

you rub it in your hands -- >> depends on how much -- i have tons of hair and it soaks up in one second. so i need to put lots and lots. >> it sure does. >> if you have fine hair, a quarter or a dime as your sort of -- i need to use a quarter product. this is chapstick obviously for your lips but i waited to get this manicure for two weeks to show. you can use this around your nails and it works. >> before your manicure? >> no. after your manicure. if you have cuticles that get dry. also if your feet are a little -- you need a little moisturizing, it works anywhere there's sort of roughness. you actually taught me this. i actually looked into this to see why it works. so it's acidic. so you just -- a lot of people use lemon before their manicure. you said you use it after -- >> no, it was before. >> oh, you did. >> before. >> i thought you said after. but it actually works after, too. >> this is going well. >> when you put it on after, it takes the oil away. yes, from around. you just have to be careful you don't dry too much. but then it'll keep it -- the polish to the nail plate better. >> before she put the polish on, she put the lemon on and it

>> that's right. >> to really build it, exactly. >> i had another full-time job for over a year while starting that concept. >> were you married? did you have children at the time or anything like that? >> not with the first one but with the second i had a full-time job, i was pregnant with my first child and i worked nights and weekends for years to get it off the ground. no excuses. >> someone said to me take 10% of your time and 10% of your income and put it toward your passion so the rest of it you're still working to make a living. >> it adds up. it's cumulative. >> you might even want to put 20% to your passion. or realize that if you lose the money because maybe the first business you start may not be successful, are you prepared to take that risk. a lot of people need to think about the risks involved as well. >> there are a lot of jewelry companies out there. we were saying -- >> could have been a detriment -- well, think of something else to do. >> you know what, no matter what idea you have, there are going to be people around you that tell you all the reasons why it won't work. the naysayers are everywhere. the important thing is to listen to them, find the kernel of truth in it and use it to evolve your idea and make it
