centralized location. just to begin with, the federal government knows this stuff is here. it doesn't matter what public privacy policies, what's the enforcement for that? you know? nobody's going to jail if they violate a privacy of this system. you can avoid this system -- you can't avoid this system. there's no way. >> the cameras are scheduled to be up and running by june of next year. 4:34. oakland police are hoping for women who may have witnessed a murder nearly two years ago will come forward. the police department released the photos of the women overnight. pictures were found on the phone of a 32-year-old derian stone of fremont. stone was shot and killed in 2011 at a halloween party. the women may have witnessed the shooting but took off before police got to the scene. we know who will represent district 2 on the santa clara

county board of supervisors. the election office reporting cindy chavez has unofficially won that race, taking 55% of the vote. she defeats manager theresa alvarado. chavez's win is a big-time win for organized labor. >> chavez's victory is important, not only for her, for liberal democrats and most of all organized labor, that has really taken its hit in the last couple of years. so, it really opens up an opportunity now to move the county and perhaps the city next year back in a direction that labor has done so well over the past decades. >> chavez, of course, replacing the disgraced supervisor who resigned in march, later pleading guilty to felony charges, including perjury. he's scheduled to be sentenced friday. 4:34. the man accused of kill two women at san francisco. jewelry mart will be back in

court. expected to be formally arrai arraigned on a dozen fellfully counts, including two counts of murder and several counts of attempted murder. he walked into the jewelry store july 12th, opening fire, kill two women, critically injuring the store owner. investigators are believe white was upset about the value of vulry vul jewelry he previously purchased. a group of thieves attacked a security guard before making off with thousands dollars worth of jeans from a department store. three women spotted stuffing jeans inside their bags inside of a kohl's in the san antonio shopping center at 4:30 sunday afternoon. a security guard says one of the women pepper sprayed him right in the face when he tried to stop them from leaving the store. they took off in a white four-door vehicle with nearly $2,000 worth of designer jeans. another robbery involving pepper spray, this one at a

verizon store in pleasanton. a man walked into a store on johnson drive near hopyard road 11:30 yesterday. they say the suspect grabbed several cell phones and apple ipads on display there. when the employees tried to stop him, the suspect threatened them with pepper spray. he was able to get away and he ran away. keeping hope alive, a candlelight vigil held for 21-month-old daphne webb, the toddler vanished exactly three weeks ago. her father says he left the little girl inside his car with his elderly mother who has dementia while he ran inside a store. when he came out, daphne was gone. last seen wearing orange pajamas with pink socks. the vigil organized by the klaas kids foundation. held near the sequoia community church. a transient in jail, arrested for stealing a little

one south bay police department using it to catch crooks. the morgan hill police department posted this picture of 22-year-old colby worsham on he its facebook page sunday. he was wanted for burglary, larceny, fraudulent use of credit cards. facebook followers responded sharing the photo more than 150 times. and 48 hours later, worsham turned himself in. morgan hill police say it's the first time someone has turned himself in because of social media pressure. >> family members, friends that may have known him, probably encouraged him to turn himself in based off of a facebook comment. >> morgan hill police say this encourages them to place more photos and video on their facebook page. hoping more followers will help in future cases. capitol hill, president obama making stops today, sitting down with democrats in both the house and the senate. this morning, the president meeting with the house democratic caucus to talk about job growth and tax reform. after that, he'll meet with the senate democratic caucus to

lunchtime. in san francisco, keep that in mind. 64 san mateo at noon. 58 oakland. you need to keep the sweater or jacket with the sea breeze making it feel cooler until noon to 1:00 p.m. when we'll start to see the fog clear around the inner bay. that means temperatures will be just about perfect to finish in oakland. 72 degrees headed your way. 82 livermore. 82 degrees down in gilroy where you can still smell the garlic out there. air quality for cast today has changed. it improved. notice that smoke likely at the coast. once that fog starts to clear, it's mixed in with fog now. people have been reporting headaches, allergies, we don't flow for sure whether or not the smoke is triggering that. if you noticed a change, good idea to limit outdoor activity as much as possible throughout the day. we'll keep that going for tomorrow. by friday, high pressure moves in. that's going to switch our overall flow and some of the smoke will get out of here.

temperatures are going to warm up as a result. we'll see that improvement especially sunday. that's if you suffer from respiratory issues or asthma, safe to get outside. it's 4:50. disturbing revelations about the horrific train crash in spain. investigators are say driver was talking on the phone with an official of the railway company when the train jumped the tracks killing 79. he was reading a document at the time as well. the black boxes recovered show the train was speeding down the tracks at 95 miles per hour when it derailed, going around a curve. the speed limit in the area is 50 miles per hour. the driver was freed from police custody sunday, pending trial on charges of negligent homicide. we could know the fate of several big baseball stars.

the drug investigation. the suspensions they could come as early as friday. top of the list, three-time mvp alex rodriguez, standing to receive the longest and harshest punishment. also part of the story, sources say oakland all-star bartolo colon and former giants outfielder melky cabrera will not be suspended because they served punishment last season. last week, outfielder and former mvp ryan braun accepted a season-ending 65-game suspension. some of the topmakers of energy drinks in america testifying on capitol hill today. executives from monster beverages and red bull america will answer questions at a senate hearing this afternoon. at issue, how the companies market the drinks to kids. a senate commerce, science, transportation committee will hear from the american academy of pediatrics.
