construction zone right around the b.a.r.t. extension. looking at the south bay maps as well. 880 northbound had an overnight crash, a sig alert and full closure. all lanes now open north 880 as bascom. a little slowing past the scene. there may be crews still on the shoulder. very light traffic. the rest of the south bay, construction north 280 and 85. time is running out. late last night b.a.r.t.'s unions issued a 72-hour notice saying they are ready to walk off the job just before monday's morning. >> what do we want? >> contract. >> what do we want? >> now. >> union members taking to the streets of oakland telling the world they want a contract. both sides are still very far apart on three key issues here, pensions, health care contributions and pay. tom hoff, the lead negotiator for b.a.r.t. management he says he knows for many he is enemy number one. >> you have to pick on somebody

when you can't talk about the issues, right? >> the two sides return to the negotiating table this morning. it should be around 9:00, at the very same time b.a.r.t. board meeting is set to take place. another meeting between san francisco mayor ed lee and the state's labor secretary. the two will sit down at 10:00 at san francisco city hall. the only item on the agenda, to talk about how san francisco is preparing for the looming b.a.r.t. strike. we're expecting the hear details later today. for the record, there is one person who can stop the workers from striking. governor jerry brown can issue a 60-day cooling off period. neither side asked the governor's office to intervene. back in 1971 mayor gray davis did step up. there are other options. you can try casual car pools. there are 20 locations from fairfield to san francisco. many more will probably pop up

your car. if a strike does happen, nbc bay area is here for you. on monday morning "today in the bay" will start dove raj at 4:00 a.m. it will continue throughout the day on air and online at nbcbayarea.com. it's 4:35 right now. gim roy police along with federal agents raiding an internet cafe that they say is a front for an illegal online gambling operation. that storefront is named liberty pcs, in a strip mall near hecker pass highway and saint theresa boulevard. we twlr as agents and police loaded dozens of boxes into computer trucks. gilroy police say they've been investigating liberty pcs since early spring when undercover agents found gambling was going on inside the bilgd. police say people would buy internet cards and play vegas style games from poker to slot machines, then customers would have the option to cash out or

get credit. >> they didn't really disclose exactly what they were going to be doing to the city. sure enough, this attracts a large criminal element. >> according to gilroy's xhoout community development director, the business was shut down for one day in february and reopened the next day. oakland place are investigating an overnight crash that killed a motorcyclist near the harbor bridge. officers received the call just before midnight. witnesses tell our photographer on scene just moments after the crash an suv came speeding down the street slamming into one of the cars that stopped to help the motorcyclist. the speeding car flipped, rolled a few times and landed on its roof on top of the motorcyclist killing him. people inside the speeding car tried to run away but police arrived and arrested them. >> when i arrived on the scene the vehicle had actually come to a stop on top of the motorcyclist. there was first aid administered

to the motorcyclist, but he was pretty up declared deceased on scene. >> police are investigating whether racing and side shows were involved. the man convicted of killing three co-workers at a santa clara startup will be sentenced later today. gene g wah wu will be in court in san jose following his conviction for killing three co-workers back in 2008. you may remember wu walked tint santa clara startup and killed three of the company's executives after he was fired earlier that morning. the 52-year-old now facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. we've learned the former united airlines baggage handler accused of stealing from the luggage of dozens of travelers will be going to jail. george reyes pleaded no contest and was sentenced to six months in jail immediately. police caught reyes after

receiving complaints from 50 passengers about items missing from their luggage. it's friday and we expect a bit of a warmup today. let's get a check of the forecast with meteorologist christina loren. >> good morning, janelle. hey, jon. we have a five to ten degree warm up depending on where you live t. microclimates making an impact later today. right now uniform temperatures across the bay area. mostly in the 50s. one spot in the upper 40s. that's in wine country where they are harvesting those grapes. temperatures will be warm up to use your ac in some of the warmest cities because we'll lose some of the marine influence we've been enjoying for the past couple days. if you live around the inner bay and through san jose, temperatures staying below average. 79 in san jose, 88 in livermore, 64 in san francisco, so much happening this weekend. the fremont festival, weave got the santa clara county fair. you'll have forecasts for both coming up along with the seven

national guard. the 129th rescue wing based out of moffett field normally has six helicopters. two of them are out of commission according to published reports in this morning's mountain view voice. a spokesperson for the 129th says the department of defense ordered work furloughs which are preventing the repairs on one of the helicopters. the other chopper needs to be replaced. how is this for a little irony. a tech blogger says his google glass was ban friday the event hosted by the company who sold him the glass in the first place. russell holly for peek.com says he was at the google event when a google representative told him to take the glasses off.

down. the dow rising 128 points to 15,628, the nasdaq adding 49 to 3,675. the energizer stopped going and going at sam's club. walmart's sam's club stopped selling them in favor of energizer. they still offer energizer as well as schick raisers and playtex products. energizer also lost business at family dollar which also shifted to duracell. cleanup continues in jacksonville, florida, after a tornado sweeps right through the city. it touched down yesterday afternoon just creating a big-time mess. wind speeds up to 125 miles per hour knocking down trees and damaging some of the homes there. we can tell you at least one person was hurt.

is in town. friday 80s, 83 on saturday, sunday sunday 86 degrees. want to get out there while you k. fair weather for this year's fair. when it comes to these warmer temperatures, 89 on the way to fairfield, 80 in santa ter reese sarks 86 in gilroy. plenty of 70s around the bay. next couple days looks liking this, temperatures are actually going to drop off. this is the warmest day in the next seven days. we'll drop off and wednesday into thursday, i left your temperatures in the 80s for now. might have to take them down through the next couple days. we're watching a system that could bring showers especially to the north bay as we head through the sect half of thursday. we'll keep watching that for you, let you know if things are changing. today a summer-like day, right back to a cooler than average pattern in the bay area for the rest of the week sglend thanks, christina. the united states issuing

new warnings to its embassies and consulates throughout the muslim world. the state department is telling them to close on sunday due to an unspecified threat. it is possible some of the diplomatic affiliates will stay closed for more than one day. the state department says it is closing the facilities out of an abundance of caution. the state department issued a major warning last year about potential violence connected to the anniversary of the september 11th attacks. you'll represent last september 11 the u.s. consulate in libya was attacked and four americans were killed. prosecutors in chile deciding not to file any charges in the 2010 chilean mine collapse. a prosecutor says the three-year investigation did not produce enough evidence to charge the owners of that mine. the 33 men who were trapped under ground for more than two months in the terrifying situation not too happy about this decision. attorneys for 31 of those

miners, they say they're planning to review all the information that led to this decision and then they will present their own arguments. boeing's vice president of airplane development won't say whether the next version of the 787 jets will continue to use the same battery. in a speech this morning, he said the company had yet to decide which battery would be used. last year they stood by the integrity of the dream ichber decide the fact that planes were grounded for overheating batteries. flights resumed in april after they redesigned the battery system. dermatologists are saying a growing list of kinds are getting acne before they hit their teens. early onset puberty may be the reason. dermatologists recommend parents with children with pimples should take the over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide product along with a gentle cleanser.
