just in, new video after an explosion and fire at an oklahoma factory. firefighters have backed off this morning letting the fire burn itself out. the latest details neck. >> san jose remove as crosswalk from a busy street in front of a middle school. outraged parents demanding action. >> the plans to close the golden gate bridge for an entire weekend. >> right now we'll take you live to the other picturesque bridge. digital video does that. yes. it's modern times. there we go. we straighten it out, all in focus. that is your bay bridge, ladies and gentlemen, on this thursday, september 19th, this is "today in the bay."

northbound, you saw the light traffic flow. it's 60 there. same for 680 into sunol. it's south 680, reports of a crash there around bernard avenue. things are moving to the shoulder. we're getting more details from the police and chp. sounds like a big rig is involved. there is more of a chance of lanes being blocked. i'll bring you the updates. >> thank you, mike. we have breaking news where firefighters are on the scene of a factory explosion outside of oklahoma city. officials say the two explosions happened at the danlinfa silt, a chemical plant near the town of thomas outside of oklahoma city. this is actually live pictures of the sight. officials have evacuated the surrounding areas, they don't know what caused the fire or the explosions that happened. more than eight hours ago.

this thing has gotten time to burn itself out. crews say it's still too dangerous to go close so they are letting it burn out. no injuries have been reported. >> closer to home parents in a south bay neighborhood upset this morning after the city remove as crosswalk from in front of a middle school. months ago san jose decided to remove the crosswalk even though it ran up to burnett middle school. this is a dangerous intersection that's had a list of accidents back in may, 12-year-old danl funk was hit by a truck after school. he was thrown about 145 feet, he still has a limp and some scars from that accident. daniel was in a crosswalk when he was hit. now that crosswalk is simply gone. the city narrowed the lanes and the street and put in a bike lane to try to slow traffic but the issue here remains. the lack of that crosswalk. daniel's father and other neighbors they are urging the

city to put the crosswalk back in. >> you can't leave this kind of chaos going and just every morning roll the dice and hope everything comes up aces. >> san jose city council man says he will try to push the department of transportation to put that crosswalk back in. >> investigators are expected to return to an upscale neighborhood in san ramon where a man was arrested after shooting at sheriff deputy who is had come to his foreclosed home. two deputies and a property manager went to the home in the north canyon estates in san ramon to evict a man yesterday. deputies say the man locked himself inside and fire add gun through the door. the property manager was hit in the leg. some neighbors were evacuated. >> you imagine this could happen but foreclosure happen everywhere. you have to deal with it. you can't do stupid things like this. >> authorities used tear gas to force the man out of his home.

he is now in jail. >> the city of los gatos cracking down on gun shops. the town council approving new regulations restricting where gun stores operate. the rules state gun dealers must get an annual permit, and stores must be at least 250 feet away from youth oriented businesses, schools, churches, parks and government buildings. these rules are the result of public outcry that started in december when templar sported opened up. it does not comply with the new rules but a space across the street does. templar has four years to either change locations or stop selling guns. >> a teen injured in a crash that killed two of his friends is expected to finally leave the hospital. 15-year-old joseph has been recovering at valley medical center for more than a month following the august 10th crash.

the teen was in a car with four other friends when the driver lost control, slammed into a tree. joseph was pinned under the car with serious leg injuries. he is able to use a wheelchair and hopes to walk soon. helping joseph in his recovery, usc heaven eweight champion cane velasquez. >> if you are heading out to watch the a's quest for the division title pack patience to go along with all of that pennant fever. starting tonight like at the airport fans have bags searched and pockets emptied before walking through a metal detector this part after new league-wide mandate that will be in effect at all major league baseball games. the a's, they are saying jump in, rumming fans allow a lot of time, extra time there, to enter that park before the first pitch. >> it's not over. a long way from over.

the america's cup today is it going to get above 20 knots? it doesn't look like that. it look likes we're going to see 15 to 20-mile-per-hour winds for the better part of the early afternoon so it looks a little more favorable to get the races in as we go through the afternoon. out at the ballpark, a's game after 7:00, we'll see 70s around first pitch time. 60s as the game goes on. earlier in the day oakland should see a high of close to 80. 78 in san francisco. mid 80s in san jose. 90ness land and this the warmest day over the next few days because look how the temperatures drop, and more than dropping temperatures, dropping raindrops. north of san francisco, friday night into early saturday, big change in temperatures. much cooler start to the weekend as fall begins officially on sunday. mike. >> you know what, we're looking toward the bay bridge, little flashing lights approaching treasure island. and you lose one lane and the

off ramp. no big surprise in traffic. just slows in the area. people expect this from san francisco into oakland. the upper deck smooth into the city. the east shore and the maze all smooth at the limit. we have slowing in both directions southbound, was slowing now starting to clear up heading through downtown and north up to about fifth and broadway. they may be moving because we see this starting on the northbound side. the rest of 880, as well as 580 westbound, moving nicely. reports of that crash i told you about, sounds like there may be a second crash starting to form, a big rig involved and maybe four other vehicles. we're still getting details as they have just arrived on the scene. we see slowing through pleasanton. the northbound, southbound 101, not a lot to speak of.

past the bridge and all the way into san francisco, via the kbg bridge. >> right now a live look at the golden gate bridge. we can tell you the golden gate bridge authority voting on whether to close the bridge for a weekend next year to install a movable median barrier. if approved it would be the first time in the history of the golden gate bridge that it's been shut down for more than just a few hours. since 1971, 36 people have died in crashes on the bridge, 16 of those were head-on collisions that could have been prevented bay median. the district has lowered the speed limit and hiked speeding fines. >> the california public utilities commission is expec d expected -- among proposed regulations strict insurance policies, background checks for drivers, a driver training program and zero tolerance for

4:44. emergency workers in ottawa are working as we speak to try to move a partly derailed commuter train that collided with a double-decker bus. that collision killed six people, injured 30 others. still not clear what caused the bus to smash through the crossing barrier during yesterday's morning rush. it was the second major rail

incident in canada in less than three months. in july a train carrying oil derailed and exploded in a small town near quebec, killing 47 people. this morning the nation's capitol hearings on last year's deadly benghazi attack picking up. today the house oversight and government reform committee reviewing the attack on the u.s. consulate and asking what it is calling unanswered questions. among those testifying admiral mike mullen t vice chairman of the benghazi accountability review board, the chairman of that board former ambassador thomas pickering will be testifying. bay area native and u.s. ambassador christopher stevens and three other americans all died in that attack. >> the washington navy yard is open for business again this morning, most workers will be allowed to return for work today even as questions remain about how a shooter was able to get in and whether gun control laws would have made a difference. the building where contractor aaron alexis shot and killed a

to cut mortgage related jobs on top of the 3,000 announced last month. the move comes as refinancing slowed as rates have risen and new home sales failed to offsthaet decline. they will try to find other positions for as many people as possible. a look at markets, futures are higher after stocks rallied on wednesday following the fed's surprise decision not to cut back on its bond buying which has helped keep interest rates low. the dow hitting all time highs, the nasdaq at a 13-year high. we good data on unemployment, existing home sales and manufacturing and in terms of the specific moves on the down, 147-point gain, the nasdaq adding 38. the news you can expect extra cash next year. a new survey finds employers plan to dole out raises average

francisco. not much wind right now. we'll see a hint of a sea breeze later on. with the clear skies like sleeping without a blanket our temperatures for the morning are chilly. 40s and 50s, but a warm afternoon ahead. mostly clear skies. then later tonight we'll see clouds approaching on the north bay shore and then spreading across bay into friday. but we have bigger changes up stream. a system that looks like something you would expect in late october coming towards the bay area during the day tomorrow. this cold front will drop far enough south that especially for areas in the north bay late tomorrow night into the start of the weekend we will see a chance of some showers moving into the bay area. this is 4:00 tomorrow. giving you a sneak preview, we'll see the best chances of rain north bay, this is saturday morning, then for midday saturday perhaps a few showers into the south bay. you see the projection.

perhaps just enough to wet the ground around the south bay where you may see more substantial rain on friday night into early saturday morning. don't worry about rain today. you can take the up iss eis. dress in layers, mid 80s, 90s south of downtown so toasty around morgan hill and the tri-valley should see temperatures close to the low 90s, then much cooler as you approach the weekend. the wind should behave enough for the two america's cup races. upper 80s around the north bay and then turning a lot cooler, by thursday afternoon, you can see we've got temperatures in the 90s, friday 10 degrees cooler and another 10 degrees cooler for the start of the weekend. plan on dusting off the umbrellas. we'll stay cool into the beginning of next week.

300 teens broke into brian holloway's vacation home and had a party. holloway found out via twitter. the teens caused $20,000 in damage. he is posting pictures on line hoping to identify some of the teens. the offensive lineman played for the l.a. raiders in the late 1980s. >> he didn't even get an invite. a new member of the golden state warriors shooting for the stars when it comes to the upcoming season. seth curry said he wants the warriors to win 50 games but new warrior andre said he is shooting for bigger and better. last station he helped the nuggets win a franchise best 57 ball games. the warriors, they fire up training camp in a week and a half. a lot of young guys. got a new guy in the mix. could be good. i'm shooting for 60.
