morning. a two-alarm fire. one of the challenges they had right away, there were two, is that they didn't get the right address, they got one down the street and the second is there was a large security gate in front of the home. they say that the mom inside the home, there were a number of people, the mom inside had just gotten home about 11:00 from work. she says her husband was downstairs sleeping, there was also the child in the home and a grandfather. she smelled smoke, it was late, she had gotten up to get something to eat and she was able to escape. unfortunately, the others in the house did not. so they had grandfather, a father, and a child transported to the hospital. i'm told that the grandfather is still in critical condition. firefighters say they don't know exactly how this started but they think that it may have started downstairs in the garage area. i spoke with firefighters earlier about what made this so difficult from the start.

4:50 am
at least for the next five to six hours. what that means is the breezy conditions will continue. now that wind is moving offshore as the area of low pressure moves further off to the east. so we're seeing wind speeds coming straight out of the east. at about 5 to 10 miles per hour. those will increase to about 15 miles per hour later on today. so not as blustery but still enough to keep the red flag going. 80 in santa teresa, 80 in gilroy and 79 degrees, temperatures are looking good. 89 degrees on saturday. that's your beach day. if you wanted to get out there and have warm fun in the sun look at the numbers. 73 at the coast, 79 degrees bayside and 89 degrees, comfortable day even inland not too hot there. then we've got more rain on the way late sunday into monday. a few showers possible. 40% for the north bay. 20% in the south bay.
