the weekend. >> today is going to be nice but tomorrow is the day we're watching for the showers. it's cool this morning as well. temperatures in the 40s and 50s. gilroy at 43 degree, 49 in napa, 50 in concord. we don't have any airport delays to report this morning. it's cool and crisp in san francisco. if you're traveling to the pacific northwest, showers making their way to seattle. those could force a few delays there. temperatures today, though, very comfortable. 82 in san jose and one of our warmer spots, livermore 87. now, a huge shift in temperatures tomorrow, much cooler and rain comes back into the forecast. ? we have a full weekend of baseball to pack in there. we'll be keeping an eye on that. >> a national story unfolding right now in the bay area. late last night the man suspected of killing a dodgers

fan was released from a san francisco jail. now, the sheriff's department said it didn't have enough evidence to keep michael montgomery in jail and the district attorney says it is possible that montgomery acted in self-defense. the victim in this case is 24-year-old jonathan denver. he was stabbed just a few blocks away from at&t ballpark. he was wearing a giants hat at the time and his group and montgome montgomery's group may have exchanged words about the team rivalry. montgome montgomery's mother says her son was hit with a chair and was just trying to defend himself. >> mountain view police will be out in force this weekend at two-day rave at the shoreline amphitheater. they will be in uniform and in

speed nor alcohol played a role, police say. >> another deadly crash, this one at a busy intersection. an out of control driver slammed into a minivan, killing a teen-age boy and critically injuring his boy and sister. a driver slammed into the minivan he was riding in. six others were hurt, including his mom and sister, who are currently listed in critical condition. people in a delivery van nearby were also struck but were in the eariously injured. witnesses say it sounded like an explosion. >> any time anybody loses their life, it just doesn't get any worse than that. >> police say the driver of the suv is a 58-year-old woman. she is in the hospital right now. she will be booked on charges of involuntary manslaughter when she is released from a hospital.

regarding a man's body near middlefield road. police say the body was dragged from where it was hit to where they found it. they neoted the victim was 60 years old. >> yesterday was graduation day for 40 san jose police department recruits. now, will they stay in san jose or look for jobs elsewhere? 40 men and women received their badges during a special ceremony. they will complete 16 weeks training before solo patrol. but the president of the police union say some of the graduates are already trying to get jobs at other bay area police departments. >> it is true. we have officers graduating today that are already in the background process with our agenci agencies. >> the important thing is convincing them to stay here and that's what we're going to be

on where you live of course. let's check in with meteorologist anthony slaughter with a look at your afternoon forecast. >> today temperatures will be warm but tomorrow is the day we want to key on, especially for the chance of rain moving back into the picture. that will come to the coast and north bay, even as early as 24 hours from now. plenty of blue skies, bay side and inland. very warm and a little above average for our inland areas. look at this impressive system spinning across the gulf of alaska. a lot of the rain will stay focused upon oregon and washington and northern california. but for us, we're going to get the back end of this front and it's going to break apart as it moves up into portions of california. for us it really just means a few rain drops. we're not talking about a big

rain event like we had last week where we had closed to an inch in some parts of bathe bay area. this for us will be a nonevent. we're not expecting a whole lot of rain. places that do see the rain will be in the north bay. keep your eyes on the key and correlated numbers down here. look what's going to happen as we move toward the next 24 hours as we put this into motion. sunday and monday, lots of rain. portions of oregon and washington expecting six to seven of inches of rain. this is what i want you to focus on. we move into the north bay and you'll notice a lot of that not going to make it into portions of california. we're only expecting trace amounts, about 1/10 inches of rein. morgan hill not expecting to see a whole lot in terms of rainfall. again, this is just going to be the north bay's focus.

places like oakland, if you're headed down toward the raider's game, redskins for tomorrow looks like we're talking increasing cloudiness. we can start to see a little drizzle move into places like oakland. today not expecting a whole lot of rain if you're heading down for the game, giants and padres. temperatures back in the 70s at at&t park. start time at 1:05. 80 in fremont, 82 in livermore. here comes the rain tomorrow afternoon and evening, especially for the north bay. once we get into monday, that's a better chance of showers moving back into the picture. wednesdays are thursday, friday, we just have to get there and keep the ponchos handy if you're headed to a game. >> thousands of bicyclists cruise around the bay area on a daily basis but none quite like

welcome back on this saturday morning. plenty of good visibility outside. not something you can usually see at this hour. you can see the bay bridge. behind it, clear sky. no reports of delays at sfo right now. plenty of sunshine all day long from the morning hours into the afternoon hours. temperatures today will be warm back into the 70s to the count and close to the 90 degree mark. places like livermore and gilroy expected to be very warm but not right now.

it's 44 in napa and 44 in gilroy, a good sign that fall is indeed here. we'll continue to see more mornings like this as we head into the next few month. one this evening we have not been seeing a whole lot of is that green stuff. that rain is moving through portions of oregon and washington this morning. they're expected to see upwards of 6 to 7 inches of rain. that's the same system that's going to impact us by tomorrow. now today it will be a dry day and very warm but the front will eventually slide this way and eventually offer a few showers. it's not going to be as much as up in parts of washington and oregon but we could see the potential of a few rain drops, maybe a trace, maybe a couple hundredths of an inch. but it's not going to be a huge system like we saw last weekend where we picked upwards of about an inch of rain. and i think that's where it's going to be concentrated, from san francisco points northward. and places like fairfield could
