i eventually -- i don't think you can tell. i eventually had to go to the doctor. i hate to do that. >> i know you do. >> i went to the doctor. i got a big ole painful shot in my buttocks. and another shot. that was like an antibiotic. then i got a huge thing of benadryl. i have to be on stuff for ten -- it's a big, big deal. >> you know why? it was hot to the touch. that usually means infection. you were woozy because of the benadryl. you're like -- >> yeah. i'm saying it again as well today. that i'm not responsible for anything i say or do today because i'm under medication. heavy medication. okay? >> we got a lot of comments. some people dispute it was even a bee. they said if it's -- >> i know a bee when i see a bee. >> don robson says you're wrong. >> was don robson there when i took it out of my boot and looked at it? >> she's on our facebook page and she knows. she said it wasn't a bee sting. she said if it stung multiple times it was a yellow jacket or wasp. >> it didn't sting multiple

times. it stung me once. >> honey bees sting once and then they die. yellow jackets and wasps can sting multiple times. and i think she's right. here are some of the home remedies for stings that people recommended on our facebook page. we don't know if they work. so but people say they do. baking soda and water they say work. >> baking soda is good for everything. >> yeah. >> meat tenderizer. that doesn't mean a-1 steak sauce. lavender oil. which sounds nice. banana peels, sliced onion. teabags. tug tobacco. >> sliced onion was a big one. rubbing it on the thing. chewing tobacco after you've chewed it. >> yep. and then my favorite, hemorrhoid ointment. so i could have shared bambino's preparation h. >> well said. but we have to point out that since we are part of nbc news we don't know if any of those things actually work. we didn't have time to test drive all of them this morning. >> thank you for caring. i appreciate it. what are we going to do about madonna? she's been banned from a whole chain of movie theaters. >> okay. she went to go see a very

serious film called "12 years a slave." while in there according to one of the patrons she was texting. i guess she was texting while the movie was on. if you guys have ever sat next to anyone who's texting a big warm light comes over. you can see it. it's distracting. so the person asked her to please stop texting. and she wasn't happy. >> she allegedly said right back to her, "it's for business, enslaver." >> she called the person an enslaver. in the "12 years a slave" movie. >> the ceo of the theater chain heard what happened and announced on twitter he has banned her for life from the chain's facilities. until she apologizes to movie fans. >> i do think it's distracting when you're in a theater or in broadway shows sometimes. people think they're being quiet because they're quietly texting. but that glow. >> yeah. the light is offensive. especially when you're really into a film. and you're so trying to watch for all kinds of reasons. you want to follow the plot. sometimes you miss one thing in a plot line and -- >> and it's over.

"cosmopolitan" magazine. covered this topic. joyce chang is its executive editor. and she's here along with psychologist dale atkins to reveal what hating actually does for us or to us, ladies? i don't know. >> hello. >> can hating do something good for us? >> well, it's kind of a double-edged sword. you know, on the one hand it can make you -- it can give you a temporary little boost of your ego. and sometimes when you pile on it allows you to form a little community, whether it's on facebook or twitter. >> yeah. but it's so mean. how can that be good in any way? >> it's not good for you. i'll tell you that much. it's not only not good for the person you're sending all this negative information about, but it's not good for you. it's not good for your brain. it's not good for your altitude.

you have a tendency to look at the world through a different lens actually when you are consumed with this negativity. so let's say you're having this little negative party. then you go out and you look at things and people differently. >> what about this? i've been in the manicure place. everyone's lined up. someone says oh, my god, did you see that interview with so and so? everyone says oh, my god. it doesn't seem like there's any harm in it. it seems like you're expressing your opinion about something happening. maybe you don't like the person. or you thought oh, my god, i can't believe she went out with no clothes on. it was terrible. what's so bad about something like that? >> well, actually, sometimes it's just a conversation starter. and it gives you a point of bonding and connection. >> right. >> from there if you can take it and move into a more positive direction, whether it's that topic or something else, it's just an icebreaker. it's when it consumes you rather than using it as a springboard into something else. >> when you're consumed enough to start your own website that says ihatemileycyrus.com or something, i mean, that really says a lot about you, doesn't it? >> it says more about you and

what is not happening in your own life. >> is it a jealousy issue? >> often it's a jealousy issue. that often is underscored by not feeling comfortable with your own life and needing to elevate yourself by putting someone else down. >> isn't there a difference between doing that to somebody you see on tv or someone who seems holier than thou and talking about a girlfriend? those seem to me to be two different categories. >> those are totally two different categories. when you weigh on on a tv show, and you're like what's going on with that character, what's going on with that plot line or you see a reality show where something is happening, it's completely different than when you talk about a real person who -- you know, that's where you cross the line into bullying sometimes. >> reality shows are real people. well, they're supposed to be. >> playing a certain kind of role and a certain kind of part. >> you're in a conversation and your friends are like oh, our friend is such a blah, blah, blah and you're sitting there. what should you do? >> i'm so glad you asked this question. because you have a choice and it's all about choices. and you can either continue and have this spiral go down or you

can back up and you can say, you know, i'm just not comfortable with this. if you're not willing to do that you can just change the topic. >> that's what i do. i change it. >> and you can go somewhere else. because each of us have the power when we're in a group of people to change the topic. it's all about opinion. it's all about who's got their dog in the race at that moment. >> it is hard, though, to say in a group, you guys, i'm just not comfortable. your whole group would be like, what's up with her? you know what i mean? and sometimes you -- >> but maybe it would also convict the people that, you're right, she's our friend. we shouldn't be talking about her like that. >> haters is such a part of our vernacular now. >> i hate the word "hate." >> it's actually easy to throw into conversation, just be like you guys, do we really have to be such haters? and it just makes it light and it turns it around and you take back sort of the potency of what a hater really is. >> i think what joyce is saying is so important. we have this what we call the helper's high. where your brain really changes when you are trying to be kind to people and talk kindly. there's also a hater's low. and you can feel the energy change. >> you sure can. >> you can just say, wait a minute.

busy in the garden? >> it's a great time to plant because it's cool nights, warm days, and it rains a lot. in the summer you don't want to plant because way too hot. now is the perfect time to put plants in the ground. >> what should we be planting? >> also a good time to go to your nursery. because they're going to be cleaning out inventory and getting rid of stuff. so huge sales on plants. >> that's a good idea. >> i got a whole bunch of arbor vitae the other day. >> on what? >> it was a huge sale. love them, love them. >> we're going to educate you. in a lot of climates not a lot of flowers right now. this is a nandina. first of all, it's a fun thing to say. nandina. but see how you have great color with all the different leaves? and it still flowers in the spring. so you get flowers and color with the leaves. and these leaves stay on all year round. >> oh, they do? okay. >> next, the chamilia. this is a great one because it's going to flower in the winter. all these plants are great for different climates. >> this flowers in the winter? >> red flowers? >> pink. >> pink camilia. not many things flower in the winter. >> you can feel the buds here. they're all about to pop. >> i get that sad thing. that would be a good thing to
