so case keenum started against kansas city two weeks ago. last week the bye. as you can see yards per pass and pass rating right up there in record-setting territory. but now the question is what can he do here? after building up that big lead, they led 21-3 at one point. >> cris: well, he has yet to throw an interception in either one of his games after this team had 11 in their first six, including five pick sixes. >> al: and can he get it to andre johnson, who had a monster first half. and there is johnson, and andre johnson on his eighth catch of the night takes the ball out to the 44 yard line where he's tackled by antoine bethea. that's eight catches, 215 yards and three touchdowns for andre johnson. >> cris: a couple things here. there's andre johnson inside working against bethea in the zone. and then it's robert mathis on the outside against ryan harris who's really been doing a nice

he knew what they were thinking. >> al: at the 42, 2:30 to go, third down 11. spread it out. >> cris: that usually means a blitz. in the national football league, this situation brings pressure. >> al: and that's why tate comes back in to help out. keenum rolling right, under pressure, hit as he throws, volleyball batted, incomplete. angerer again coming in. so two big plays in a row for the linebacker, number 51, an it's fourth down and 11 and they have to punt. >> cris: keenum as he's done has done a nice job avoiding the first guy. but because they did bring the blitz, they brought the pressure. angerer was there to catch him on the back side before he could get that one off. probably lucky that one wasn't a fumble. >> al: lechler to punt. they have two time-outs and this

had on the team in the second half? >> well, two major effects, bob. number one, gary kubiak is in addition to being the head coach is the play caller on offense. you could see that their rhythm was not the same in the second half, obviously had an impact that way. also intangibly. players go in the locker room at halftime, your coach is not there. nobody is sure of what his condition is. i have to think that had an effect on those houston texan players in the second half. they didn't quite play their game as they did in the first half, as you mentioned. >> plus talk about a dramatic change of atmosphere. here's a team that had been struggling and they're up against a very good team, 21-3. you've got case keenum coming out of nowhere seemingly to become an almost overnight star. that's the atmosphere. and then in the bat of an eye, the whole thing is turned inside out with concern about their coach. >> right. and you felt the energy. i mean in the studio, we could hear the crowd here in that first half. and then it almost goes dead silent at halftime.
