5:01 am
pg&e workers on the scene. he says yes, it will be loud, very loud. but the good news for people who want to sleep in around where we are here at old county and commercial, is that this work won't be getting started for a little while now. it keeps getting pushed back. the area we're talking about they are going to vent a pipe. you can see it there sticking out of the ground. this is a natural gas pipe. that they need to vent so they can do some work in redwood city. first they said 3:00 a.m., then 4:45. the latest word i got from the workers here on scene is now it will be 7:00 a.m. before the work actually starts. one guess we were told that it could sound like a jet engine when this venting gets going. i'm told they can regulate the sound a little bit. could go on for 30 minutes, maybe closer to an hour. they are not sure. one of the issues, though, was the timing and why it gets pushed back is they tell me there are three natural gas lines that feed from this between redwood city and san
5:02 am
francisco so they need to be very, very careful about what they do. so again, it will be very noisy when they get out here and actually get that work going but now they say it won't be until at least 7:00 this morning. reporting live in san carlos, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> thanks for the update. >> this sunday will mark two years since sierra lamar -- he is still in jail awaiting the start of his preliminary trial. in the meantime, the lamar family continues to look for closure every saturday volunteers comb parts of morgan hill looking for lamar's body. the family itself has hired a

5:04 am
i told them that at this time we should wait. but they were really you know, marlene, she got emotional. >> her mom. >> yes. she wanted somebody to call. i took the case under those pretenses and then it went from there. >> you say from there, now you are trying to find her body. we're at the bus stop. you have driven this route and the routes around the home, numerous times trying to get in the head of antolin garcia torres what he was doing march 16 of two years ago. have you gotten closer, where you think might have happened to her, where she might be? >> i have some ideas i would like to keep you know, because of the investigation i don't want to interfere with it. but i spent five years in the jail my first part of my career i talked to different individuals in there for different reasons. i have an idea of how they think. and you're right, i would drive these roads hundreds of time where she lived down the street d he go right, did he go left.
5:05 am
i know where the phone was, where the clothes were. what lake. it's always about fishing and those type of things. it would lead me to locations which led me to some people that were friends of his. i had conversations and relationships with them. and i would pass that information on to the search teams. i had long conversations with mark, tried to come up with ideas how to find her. >> you think she will be found? >> i do. i think she's close. i just have a feeling that there's one person who knows and -- >> he's in jail right now and doesn't have much motive to speak. >> i think that in many cases you know, being in law enforcement and i've been up to different prisons, people, they find god, they realize you know, that it was a wrong and maybe if he gets an opportunity to be in jail and never get out he may be honest with us. >> mark garcia, private investigator, thank you very much for being up with us. reporting live in morgan hill,

5:31 am
the good news is that initially they said this might start at 2, 3, now they are telling us it's 7:00 a.m. start time so. at the very least it's not in the middle of the night. the reason for the delays they tell me there's a lot of prep work, a number of lines connect here so they want to be very careful dealing with this natural gas. that noise expected to start around 7:00 this morning. i asked if anyone's service might be disrupted. they don't think so, they might smell a little of the natural gas in the air and of course the loud noise. that would be it. reporting live, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> sounds like a good thing it's later. thanks so much. >> this sunday marks two years since morgan hill teen sierra lamar disappeared without a trace. investigators think she was kidnapped and killed but her body has never been found. friends and family released balloons to honor the missing teen. two months after antolin garcia torres of morgan hill was
