we begin with breaking news in pennsylvania. it is happening at franklin regional high school. we know there were at least 20 victims at this point. they range in age from 15 to 60 and they are at the hospital. one person in custody 20 people taken to the hospital after stabbings at a high school near pittsburgh. we will bring you more information as it comes in the newsroom. major nrs section shut down. police investigating a deadly hit and run crash. the driver still on the run at this hour. stayed chase is live at the scene. you are hearing it will be at least another 45 minutes before the roads open. they are trying to wrap things up here at the scene.

the difficult thing is that they do not have a description of the vehicle or the driver. we want to show you investigators off to the right. be careful not to show you anything too sensitive. this is a rather dark stresh of the expressway. it was dark when we were told that a black male was crossing the capitol expressway and hit by a vehicle and killed. they expect that will take a little while longer. our unit is processing the scene and they will be looking for evidence that would help them

bug it is in ssl software it makes it harder to steal your data. they found the bug while doing tests on its own products. one tweeted out that he was able to get a password using that heart bleed bug. the problem has been there for two years. it was pretty confident. the number of systems out there it could be huge. >> nearly 70% of the systems say they have fixed the flaw. here is the problem. the easy solution would be to change your password on websites. it wouldn't be any good if the individual sites won't fix that problem. >> san jose on your left. san francisco fogged in on your

now i want to show you san francisco. quite a different picture here this morning. mostly cloudy conditions. this will keep temperatures way down today. you can see that. 81 in the south bay. peninsula 80 degrees for today. the bay area is going to be pretty warm today. but not like yesterday. 81 degrees not bad. 73 in the east bay and 85 still staying on the warm side. you are used to it if you live out there. nice cool down as we head throughout the end of the week. 77 degrees by friday. 74 degrees and we have shower activity as the big ridge of high pressure continues to weaken and break down. cut off low riding on the jet stream. it carries the storm system from the united states. it is going to have nothing to

steer it in land or what i think is going to happen the showers are going to approach the coast line. mostly looking like areas to the north of the golden gate bridge. >> we are looking over here toward the bay area. we'll have a lighter volume of traffic. south bay has a few districts off on vacation this week. typical build 85 and 87 as well. we are looking over here to that closure. deadly crash happened before 2:00 am. over toward monteray road. that is clear but if you can't keep it straight stay clear of the area as that volume builds. we should see that reopen in a few. we are looking over here.

lanes police took down their yellow tape. getting ready to reopen the eastbounds lanes because investigators have finished their work at the scene. we were told an adult man in his 30s was crossing the expressway here. the man was hit by a vehicle and killed there at the scene. the vehicle about not stop and that driver kept going that has made for a rather challenging investigation for police. >> our unit is processing the scene. they will be looking for any evidence that would help them with the hit and run case. >> and of course san jose police would like to know if this one was in the area today and may have seen the vehicle who may

have hit the person who was crossing the road. it is a rather dark stretch of cop tall. not a lot of lights around. do not stop at the scene of the accident. back out here on the expressway. the eastbound lane are getting ready to reopen. police are getting ready to get in their cars and let the traffic flow. police are at home and getting ready to head out. that is the latest live in san jose. >> also new this morning a massive recall announced overnight. the cars worldwide are being recalled. >> yeah, that is right. six million worldwide. the good news is that there is no report ares of injuries.

the crash is related to the recalls. there have been reports to two separate fires related to the defective starter. toyota said it would reform quality control and in this recall there are five different recalls. two of them sold to cars in the united states. one is the cable to the driver side airbag can become damaged. a warning light could come on if damaged. this affects 27 toyota models. that is the local tie here. at the former plant at the same time. this affects cars built between 2004 and 2013. but it is important to keep in

the canopy, they got in the watt ster and started the boat and motored on over to the stranded sailboat. >> now many are questioning the caufman family for trying to sail around the world with two very young children. >> officials say the family will not have to pay for their rescue. >> 6:56 a palo alto woman has died after a fall. she was hiking with her husband and daughter in the devil's ridge area earlier this month when they fell 75 feet. high winds prevented her from being air lifted to the hospital. rescue personnel carried her to the neariest hospital. >> this morning nurses from san francisco general hospital will rally for more staffing. the nurses say the hospital is

dangerously under staffed and say conditions are unsafe for patients. you will remember just last year a patient's body was found in a stairwell weeks after she disappeared. lynn spaulding's family sued the hospital for failing to take care of her. the hospital has been ordered to improve security issues. >> controversial plan to clean up a lake may include part of the south bay water way. tonight a meeting will be held to plan to split it up. one alternative on the left divides the lake. the other on the right shows a large open park space divided by a creek. the meeting with be held at 6:30
