another grim and all too familiar scene. a random and horrific knife attack at a high school full of students in pennsylvania. a 16-year-old boy described as having a blank expression stabbed and slashed 21 people. he's now facing two dozen charges. authorities say he'll be prosecuted as an adult, but so far police have shed little light on a motive. nbc's richard lui joins us live in murray easur measure murrysv pennsylvania. >> reporter: we had a press briefing about 20 feet from where i'm standing right now. we one thing, one of those injured in the hospital right now getting a second medical procedure, a surgery at 1:00 a.m., about six hours ago. and also we learned that he had multiple stab wounds. so there is concern about what is being called an extremely critical condition injured individual. there is ten total teams now in the hospital, four of which are

>> reporter: now, she attended one of the vigils. there were six last night. the one she went to was right across the street from here at calvary lutheran church. she described one of the heroes and that was officer buzz. and he was a security guard that tackled the suspect. this after just three to five minutes that they have learned about what had happened. that vigil lasted about an hour and a half again. so the school, we have learned, will reopen, they think on monday. it will be handed over from police to the school districts, frances, today. >> certainly a tough start for the students and faculty there at that school. richard lui, thank you for being with us. in florida, police are searching for the driver of an suv that crashed into another vehicle, sending it slamming through a day-care center near orlando. one little girl died from her injuries. 11 children and an adult were hospitalized. authorities say several of them are in serious condition. the driver took off from the scene and nearly two hours later police found the suv nearby with no one inside. the man who they believe was
