we have a look at the new video of these on going rescue efforts. we got word that south korea navy divers have entered the ship's main three safe vcaverns. there you can see it on one side and then the ship almost completely under water. four confirmed dead three mitting. many of them high school students on a field trip. some were rescued. some seen here hoisting passengers by helicopter. you can see that passengers were

forced to climb on top of the guardrails as that ship tipped over on its side. many trapped inside making it impossible to escape. many could have been in the food and entertainment area which was closer to the bottom of the vessel. the ship sank several miles offshore in water that was 54 degrees. you can see in these photographs, there are several tilt rotor aircraft deployed to the scene. we are talking about almost 300

of this under water several miles offshore. four people confirmed dead, almost 300 missing, some of those teens. coast guard which hoisted people by helicopter. others jumped into the water and were picked up by ships that responded to the distress call. the water was so cold 54 degrees farenheit enough to cause hypothermia. again, 291 passengers unaccou unaccounted for. this ferry was en route to an island where the students were participating in a field trip. the ship tilted to one side and rushing in so fast that it made

escape impossible. the south korean navy have yet to find anyone dead or alive. the u.s. navy is assisting in this rescue mission. they are deploying capt ining h to help find anyone who may still be alive. >> when you consider the temperatures of that water and how many people who are missing. you have to wonder how this is going to turn out? >> given the 54 degree water, you can only survive from 90 minutes to two hours. this is several miles offshore. >> tragic situation there. all right bob. thank you. >> closer to home.
