the coast guard is desperately trying to find a missing pilot. debris was spotted near brothers island, not far from the richmond/san rafael bridge, but so far no sign of the pilot. "today in the bay" christie smith live in richmond where she spoke to the coast guard a short time ago. what did they have to say? >> they tell me in the next 30 minutes or so, we should see a coast guard helicopter fly by out here over san pablo bay looking for that pilot and the cessna went down about three miles off shore. witnesses are telling us that it lost its wing and spiraled right into the water about h4:00 near the richmond, san rafael bridge after colliding with a single engine hawker fury plane. they were both at an air show and there earlier in half moon bay and we don't know what caused this crash, but when flying tandem it's hard to see each other due to the wing placement.

the cessna is high and the hawker fury is low. the hawker pilot was able to make it back to a small airport with his wife onboard. the cessna pilot, though, went down to the yacht harbor immediately tried to help. >> any time something like this happens in the marina, people jump to help. whatever's running, they grab and they go. and he was the nearest vessel. joe said he saw oil and fuel and debris on the top of the water. no contact with any large debris or couldn't see the airplane. >> now the pilots apparently knew each other and one of them was a photographer. the organizer of the show released a statement saying in part, "everyone associated with the pacific coast dream machines show is tearally saddened by this news." again, at this point they're just looking for that one pilot. the faa is investigating, along with the ntsb.

again, we're told that a helicopter is due out here also several boats from surrounding law enforcement agencies, as well. we should see them out here fairly soon. reporting live, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> now that the sun is up, we expect that. new details on a devastating set of tornadoes that ripped through our country's midsection. just some of the damage you see here left behind by the deadly twisters. the first of several expected storms, in fact, struck the midwest this morning. a tornado injured one person, caused significant damage to a home in northwest louisiana just after 3:00 this morning. now, yesterday, more than 30 tornadoes touched down in various states killing at least 16 people. the hardest hit state, as you can see, arkansas, the largest of those twisters was a mile wide. cut an 80 mile-long path through the state. the tornadoes didn't touch down

until nighttime. really the extent of the damage may not be known until later today. speaking from the philippines, president obama offered his condolences and said the government was there to help rebuild. >> we barely got down there and then slammed the basement doors and we could hear crackling. but lucky we made it through. >> arkansas definitely took the brunt of that damage. among the ruins, a $14 million brand-new school that was set to open this fall. 6:04. new this morning, the white house put economic sanctions on seven russian government officials and 17 companies with ties to vladimir putin. two of the officials are members of putin's inner circle. subject to an asset freeze and cannot travel to the u.s. in addition, the u.s. has imposed inport and export restrictions and will not ground exportlysin license. speaking from the philippines,

president obama says it's in response to the crisis in ukraine. next hour, go to washington, d.c., for a live report on these sanctions. happening now, an amber alert in effect for a 3-year-old girl who investigators say was abducted from fresno county. tonya was taken from the city of huron just before 8:00 last night. unclear if she knew the man who took her or where she was taken from. she was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers, blue jean shorts and white sandals. an unimaginable accusation against a san jose mother this morning. she's expected to face a judge this week on charges of killing of her baby boy. 23-year-old ashley newton is still in santa rita jail this morning being held without bail. investigators say she crashed her car in livermore saturday morning and then stabbed her 7-month-old boy to death. they also say she suffered from cuts that may have been self-inflicted. and may suffer from depression. investigators say newton has

confessed to the killing. she is expected to be in court tomorrow. this morning, the naacp is expected to announce it will not honor donald sterling with a lifetime achievement award. sterling is accused of making racially charged comments against african-americans. "today in the bay" chase cain joins us with new developments this morning in that controversy. good morning. >> good morning, scott. everyone is waiting to hear from the nba commissioner. what will he decide after their investigation into this. but we should also make it very clear at nbc news has not verified audio recordings but the belief of many people it was donald sterling talking to his then girlfriend. now in response last night at oracle arena the l.a. clippers went to center court and took off their jackets and revealed that their warm-up jerseys were turned inside out to hide the clippers' logo. a protest of what is going on. the team has tried to stay unified through all this.

the allegations and recordings first surfaced on friday but the team has not played so well on the court, that's what commentators say. they did not look so sharp last night and did lose to the warriors. meantime, a growing call for sterling to no longer own this nba franchise that he has owned for more than three decades. one of the last people calling for that is magic johnson who is named in the recordings and everyone from the naacp to president obama has joined in to speak out against these comments. >> i think it has affected us all and it's difficult to believe that in as crazy as it sounds that that is the mentality of, i wish i could say one person, that's the mentality of a lot of folks today and it is unfortunate. >> we believe that this a defining moment for the league and this is a defining moment for the commissioner and it's a defining moment for all the players in this league. >> that's from the players' association, but the nba, the league promised that they will move quickly in their investigation into these audio recordings but the league's

commissioner would not say what kind if the tapes are found to be legit. an attorney that represents the woman supposedly in those tapes. he says the tapes are real and 15 minutes of an hour-long conversation. again, the nba is doing their own investigation to find out if those tapes are legitimate. scott? >> all right, chase, thank you. now, there is a social media push for a protest at the clippers/warriors game for tomorrow night. this twitter account was just started at clippers blackout. it's calling for everyone to support the clippers' player silent protest against sterling by wearing all black at the game. stay with us for continuing coverage. go to nbcbayarea.com for more on the clippers controversy. what else is developing the heat across the bay area. wait until you see thursday in the forecast. let's take a peek outside, though, right now. nice, cool start to our morning and taking a live look outside at san jose. christina, what a turn around

for us this week. >> big changes coming to your forecast. happy monday to you. want to get you up and moving as mondays, as we all know, could be on the tough side sometimes. now, sunol right now showing you a mostly clear sky as far as the fog goes. we do have low clouds settling in and none of the low clouds actually touching the ground and making it fog. as we head throughout the day, a little bit of coastal low cloud cover and some fog right at the immediate coast, otherwise we're starting out clear. your temperatures are chilly out there this morning and they are going to remain on the mild side just for one more day. low clouds early, mostly clear later on this afternoon and full sunshine warming from 10:00 a.m. to noon and then that sun will set this evening at about 7:57. so, your temperatures today work like this. mid-70s in the south bay from the peninsula and 77 degrees in the north bay and 70 for the east bay and 75 in the tri-valley with major changes coming to your forecast. let me just give you a sneak peek at the next five days. but keep in mind, average high

for san jose is 72 degrees. we're well above average across the board. as we head into thursday, so balmy out there. mid-90s in san jose and translate to the triple digits. let's check your drive and say good morning to mike inouye. >> here we go. the bay bridge toll plaza has all your lanes backed up and looking at a smooth drive coming out from the maze, but slow down the east shore freeway. prepare to wait is what i'm saying. looking over towards the maze and a smooth drive on the approach other than the crowd that is growing for the freeways and the approach there. a sleeer drive out of ant yaioc. harbor drive hearing of a fire just off the roadway and don't know what is going on but chp got earlier reports of smoke.

welcome back now. yeah, welcome to the new workweek. temperatures are going to soar, not just yet. we'll wait until tomorrow for that to really kick in. but for this morning, a nice clear sun rise over san francisco. your temperatures are chilly to start, mostly in the upper 40s to low 50s. 80s and 90s by tomorrow and even warmer conditions mid-week. we'll tell you to your forecast in moments. all right, christina. we're looking over here, hazy skies right now and tri-valley. westbound 580 and elxrrx harra coming out of livermore. slowing there and where this is now moving to more slowing for the tri-valley headed down to

the south bay coming up. here are today's top stories. right now another round of severe weather wreaking havoc on the midwest and the south. a tornado hit northwest louisiana this morning. one person hurt. this comes after dozens of twisters tore through several states yesterday, killing 18 people and leveling an entire town. any minute now coast guard helicopters expected to join the search above the san pablo bay in the hopes of finding a pilot missing since yesterday afternoon. a small plane collided with another plane in mid-air. the other plane managed to land safely. an amber alert is in effect for a 3-year-old girl who was abducted from fresno county. she was reportedly taken from the city of huron just before 8:00 last night. now, it's unclear if she knows the man who took her and exactly where she was taken from. she was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers and blue jean shorts and white

sandals. the south bay stow away that hitched a ride to hawaii in the wheel well of a jet could be reunited with his father this week. his father released a statement saying "we were relieved to hear of the safety considering the circumstances of his trip. my son, like many immigrant children, is struggling adjusting to life in this country." reports say the 15-year-old poi was t was trying to reach his mother in somalia. aapparently he thought his mother was dead and only recently learned she was alive and in africa. san francisco fire chief now says the firefighter whose helmet cam recorded the moments rights after asiana flight crash at sfo. the fire department did not have enough evidence to punish battalion chief johnson. he turned his helmet camera on despite a general order against it. the department does not have a

specific policy forbidding it. it was johnson's video that shows a younger passenger survived the crash, only to be run over and killed by a responding fire truck. a san francisco ceo who admitted he beat his girlfriend has now lost his job. fired less than a week after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence and battery charges. by entering a plea, he avoided 45 felony charges and jailtime stemming from the video that allegedly showed him hitting and kicking the woman 117 times. he's seen here in file tape became a millionaire while still a teenager after selling his first company to yahoo!. he has since sold several other companies, as well. rocket company is suing the usair force. bloomberg reports spacex wants to compete with the lockheed martin and boeing. the country's two largest defense contractors. the two have a monopoly on

military satellite launches. the lawsuits which will be filed today seeks to reopen competition for 36 rockets that the air force agreed to buy last year. the contract is costing taxpayers millions of dollars for no reason. b.a.r.t. is getting rid of a controversial policy that allows employees to bank unused vacation and sick time. you build it up and cash it out. the policy got a lot of attention after a former manager continued to get a payout from her vacation time and other benefits two years after she stopped working for b.a.r.t. the new policy requires employees to cash out unused vacation time at the end of each year. lawyers for the world's largest smartphone makers will begin delivering closing arguments in san jose this week. apple has been trying to prove samsung ripped off designs and features of its products. samsung says apple copied some of its technology. this is the second go around for the two companies. two years ago, a federal jury found samsung was infringing on

apple patents. samsung has appealed that judgment. it's 6:58 right n18 right n. let's take a peek outside overlooking san francisco. beautiful. the sun is rising over the bay area and check in with christina. enjoy today if you don't like the warmer temperatures. the coolest ones for the week. >> yeah, we have some really hot weather moving in quickly. happy monday to you, scott, laura, everybody at home. thanks for waking up with us and good news in the weather department for this monday. and then those changes really kick in for tuesday, wednesday and thursday. so, the weather story of the day, little overcast here through san rafael and those low clouds are moving in and going to be a factor, at least between 7:00 and 9:00 and after that start to burn off between 10:00 and noon and good-looking day shaping up as a result. most of that cloud cover clinging to the coastline this morning and by lunchtime completely clear over the golden gate bridge and the entire bay area and then we're not expecting that fog to return as we head into tonight as off shore flow starts to kick in.

and for us that means we're not going to see that marine influence, that natural ac not expected after today. 73 degrees for the south bay today, 73 along the peninsula and san francisco today, a nice, sunny sky for you. 66 degrees. 75 degrees for the tri-valley and 70 out in oak town and 77 degrees in the north bay for today. so, let me just give you a sneak peek at this week. here it is at a glance. coast clears for today, warming trend begins and the heat cranks, it looks like wednesday and thursday are going to be the warmest and because of that off-shore flow, hot temperatures we do have elevated fire danger. at this point, no fire weather watch has been issued nor a red flag warning but we could see that happen as we head throughout the middle of the week. we'll watch that for you. as we head through the end of the week, not quite as warm. and onshore flow returns and your temperatures will start to drop off. a nice, comfortable weekend coming your way. seven-day forecast right there. but, guys, i can tell you, i knew this was going to come up eventually. no rain chances for the next 15 days and i know, i know that hasn't been the case all month

long so far. so, that's the only caveat. no more rain, but we are going to warm up and cool you back off. a little bit of a roller coaster ride in the weather partment. check your rides on the road. here's mike inouye. >> steady build to the commute. we're on the upclimb and northbound 101, north 87 and in julian we did have a crash but cleared quickly to the shoulder and no injuries reported at all. good flow of traffic throughout the south bay. we did see an early start and things did calm down and the build. over here west 580 not getting away from that. 84 westbound and also 84 in towards livermore and dublin change and these folks starting to slow south from pleasanton and that's for folks heading south into san jose and you'll get the congestion right here in the tri-valley and not so bad into san jose. lower drive for the castro valley wide as well as north 238

and moves smoothly until you get to a fender bender and sounds like everything is off to the shoulder and the distraction and the build as folks are shifting lanes. a nice flow around the rest of the bay. for the most part, the peninsula not really a problem and neither is the bay bridge toll plaza but the metering lights are on. you see the volume of traffic past the coliseum and see the slowing past the 238 and since we told you it was smooth as far as volume of traffic goes. little hazy skies, but nice flow of traffic into and out of san francisco. back to you. still ahead "today in the bay" team teal trying to put the kings on ice, but which star could the sharks be without for tonight's potential series clinching victory? nature at its most delicious. welcome back. happy monday. the sharks hoping they don't have to return to the tank for game seven against the l.a. kings. team teal had a chance really to wrap up the series saturday night, just could not get that job done. now the sharks may be without one of their most dependable players on defense. marc-edouard vlasic hit in the back of the head in the first period of game five. he did not practice yesterday before the team left for southern california. so, the sharks still lead the

series. it's 3-2. and they're finally looking to send the kings packing tonight. puck drops at 7:00. in the meantime, the warr r warriors headed down to los angeles for game five against the clippers. the series all tied up at 2-2. thanks in part to a 33-point performance from warriors star steph curry yesterday. he drained seven threes to lead golden state to an impressive victory. game five is tomorrow night. oakland could be responsible for $172 million, if it loses all three of its professional sports teams and it actually might. that is according to the "chronicle." we already know the warriors are heading for san francisco without pay. $61 million the city says the team owes them. the a's owe $5 million in back rent and although the a's disagree. if the a's and raiders find new homes, taxpayers would still

bell. some days really interesting on wall street. this is not one of those days. yeah, it's monday. there you go. there's the nyse over on the nasdaq, as well. equally uninteresting. today is monday, april 28th and this is "today in the bay." not for those people, though. >> no. good morning to you, thanks for joining us. i'm lorry garcia-cannon. >> i'm scott mcgrew. president obama announcing new sanctions against russia and "today's in the bay" tracie potts is live in washington, d.c., where the full list of sanctions will be released later today. tracie? >> hey, scott. actually, we just got it within the last hour after earlier today the president announced the sanctions were coming. we got word from the state department on what the details are. seven government officials in

russia who will be sanction eed individually and targeting 17 companies, high-tech companies freezing their assets and 13 of those companies for the most part will be denied exports into the united states. this is the latest effort by the u.s. to try to pressure president putin to get pro-russian militant to back out of ukraine. we've seen more violence there just today with seizing of another police headquarters in eastern ukraine. the mayor shot and in surgery this morning. seven observers being held and one was released for medical reasons but germany is also urging russia to try to use its influence to get these people released. now, critics say the sanctions need to be broader, not just against individuals, not just against a few companies, but against broader parts of the russian economy, like the four largest banks in russia.

president obama says they still got more sanctions in their pock pocket. scott? >> tracie, talking about high-tech sanctions. >> right, exactly. but the secretary of state, which is where this came from, and the u.s. government, the obama administration believes it's the easiest way to try to squeeze russia into changing course. basically what they said this morning, scott, is that russia has done nothing, absolutely nothing toward its obligation after the geneva meeting to end this violence. they think that russia is pushing these militants in these eastern cities and could use this considerable influence to do the opposite, but is not. that is why we're seeing the actions that some here in capitol hill say are still willfully inadequate. >> tracie potts in washington, thank you. the president is set to wrap up his week-long visit to asia,

but before he leaves he's praising an agreement with the philippines allowing more u.s. access to the country's basis. it will help promote regional security and improve armed forces training and shorten response times to humanitarian kriss. president obama insists it is not about u.s. dominance over the philippines. for israelis sirens pierce the air. all to remember the 6 million jews who did in the holocaust during world war ii. came to a stop on one of the most solemn days on the calendar. vote as early as wednesday to up the minimum wage. the senate is expected to vote on a democratic plan to gradually raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to 10.10 there. this would happen over the next

two years. republicans are expected to block it. most of the workers earning minimum wage are women, under the age of 25. two groups, two groups the democratic party hopes to gain support from come elections in november. time to check the forecast now, 6:34. a live look outside san jose and san francisco. look at the sun up over the bay area. going to be a nice morning. at least for a monday, right, christina? >> it is going to be pretty nice out there. our sun rises at 6:17 in the morning and it doesn't set until just before 8:00 p.m. so, our days are getting longer, although today will be a lovely spring-like finish. temperatures climbing up in the 40s and 50s and into the mid-70s. by tomorrow the mid-80s and then the 90s and even a couple triple digits on the way as we head through the midsection of the week. seize the day, if you have outdoor plans to take care of before it gets too hot, today is the day to do so. as temperatures will soar, that heat is on. as of tomorrow, take a look at

this big-time warming trend. today 73 degrees in san jose and tomorrow 87 degrees and up to 93 degrees as we head into thursday. warm conditions continue all the way across the boards and saturday into sunday, starting to drop those numbers a touch. we'll get a little bit of an onshore flow. but summertime readings will come on very strong and before some people might like it, if you're someone who works outdoors, stay tuned. we'll talk about the signs of heat exhaustion coming up because that warm across the bay area and a lot of people cough off guard guy that. let's check your drive and say good morning to mike inouye. >> some people will get commute exhaustion, but no cure for that. pausing as they make their way across the bay bridge. you have to. the metering lights are on and look at the map, we see the slowest drive coming off of westbound 580 from highway 24 through the maze and approaching the bay bridge you have your slower drive there. the east shore freeway looking pretty pleasant into richmond and berkeley and underneath the

university avenue overcrossing. the earlier crash has moved to the shoulder and that's where you have a slow down and heading down towards the san mateo bridge. a slower drive for south 680 off that dublin interchange and steady build and down towards sunol and the south bay your northbound route shows the slower drive and the earlier crash 87 at julian has cleared for the slowing and looking at the peninsula, as well, for a live shot, this is palo alto northbound and continuing up into san francisco, both the bay shore and 280 move very smoothly. we'll send it back to you. 6:36. still ahead the search zone expanded in the hunt for the missing malaysian airlines plane. we get a better idea of how long it could take to comb the ocean. taking a live look outside. look at that. the sun may beat you up this morning. it's going to be a lovely day. a warmer week and no rain in

korea are back in the water this morning continuing the search for more than 100 people still trapped inside the sunken ferry. so far the bodies of 188 people have been pulled from the water. search efforts over the weekend were called off due to bad weather and strong currents making it difficult for divers to maneuver inside the ship's small rooms. in australia, the country's prime minister said the underwater search for that missing plane will expand. he also says it could take up to eight months to thoroughly search the bottom of the indian ocean for the wreckage of malaysian airlines flight 370. today the bluefin-21 is on its 16th mission scanning the ocean floor for debris. so far it's turned up nothing. stronger sonar equipment is expected to arrive in the coming days. several climbers are back at mt. everest following this month's deadly avalanche. from germany, china and argentina. they all left after the disaster killed 16 sherpas ten days ago.

tough. but today is the nicest of the week, if you're looking for comfort. if you're looking for comfortable temperatures only mother nature could provide in the bay area. you have to use your ac and manufacturer that comfort later on this week as we dohave some major heat coming in quickly. now, temperatures this morning are starting out in the 40s and 50s and headed towards the 70s. thanks for waking up with us every singal day, especially on a monday. if you're racing out the front door right now, the good news is we don't have a lot of fwaug to tell you about. expecting some to develop and roll on shore as we head throughout the next couple hours, mostly clear sky inland and all that cloud cover will cling to the coastline and then become nice and sunny between 10:00 a.m. and lunchtime. by tonight, that offshore wind picks up and as a result our sky is completely clear and it stays clear after that point all the way through the next few days and as a result our temperatures are going to soar without that marine influence. 73 for the peninsula and 66 in san francisco and tri-valley is

the way to the toll plaza. watch it there. 6:48. developing story as we give you a live look over san pablo bay. the coast guard searching by air and sea for missing pilot who plunge under to the cold waters after a mid-air collision. debris was spotted near brothers island not far from the richmond/san rafael bridge. so far just no sign of that pilot. "today in the bay" christie smith joins us live where local boaters saw that crash and they raced out to help. good morning. >> good morning to you. that's right, they say, of course, this is something they would do when someone is in distress. now, a couple minutes ago we saw a coast guard helicopter fly by and went over the richmond-san rafael bridge and new video this morning of the coast guard cutting pike out looking for the pilot of the cessna that collided in mid-air. searching where the debris was found, that's by brothers island near the entrance to san pablo bay after witnesses say the

cessna's wing came off and spiraled down entothe water yesterday around 4:00 p.m. setting off a long coast guard search. now, it's unclear exactly what caused the cessna and the single engine hawker sea fury to collide. the wing placement makes it difficult to fly in tandem because it's hard to see the other one. they had come from a show in half moon bay and knew each other. the pilot and his wife in the hawker landed safely about 100 miles away after the collision, but when it happened at the point san pablo yacht harbor, the boaters tried desperately to help. >> any time something like this happens in the marinmarina, peo jump to help. whatever is running, they grab and they go. >> we've seen quite a bit of debris, aircraft debris in the water here. we have not seen any persons in the water and we have one person reported being onboard that plane that went down. >> now, a statement from the organizers of that show in half moon bay released a statement

saying in part "everyone associated with pacific coast dream machines show is tirably saddened by this news. we hope and play the missing plane and survivors are found." at this point they're just looking for the pilot of that cessna. we did see, again, a helicopter go by and the coast guard cutter pike is in the water and law enforcement from surrounding agencies may be putting boats in the water a little later, as well. reporting live near the richmond-san rafael bridge christie smith. >> thank you, christie. also happening now an amber alert in effect for a 3-year-old girl who was abducted from fresno county. taken from the city of huron just before 8:00 last night. it's unclear if she was familiar with the man who took her or where she was taken from. she was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers, blue jean shorts and white sandals. an unimaginable accusation against a san jose mother this morning. she is ecpected to face a judge this week on charges of killing

her baby boy. 23-year-old ashley newton is still in santa rita jail this morning being held without bail. investigators say she crashed her car in livermore saturday morning and then she stabbed her 7-month-old boy to death. they say she also suffered cuts that may have been self-inflicted and may suffer from depression. investigators say newton has confessed to the killing. she is expected to be in court tomorrow. all eyes will be on the nba commissioner today awaiting results of league's investigation into audio recordings reportedly of l.a. clippers owner donald sterling. sterling supposedly made racial comments against african-americans and already the naacp is expected to pull an award today the organization was going to give sterling. "today in the bay" chase cain joins us from the newsroom. we still don't know actually if it is specifically sterling in these tapes. at least nbc hasn't confirmed that. >> that's right, scott, still working to verify it was him in

these tapes. a lot of people believe it was donald sterling in a conversation with his then girlfriend where it turns out to be him, these comments that were made are just down right racist. now, in response last night the clippers were here in the bay area and the center court of oracle arena you see them taking off their jackets and revealing that their warm-up jerseys have been turned inside out to hide the clippers logo in protest of what is going on. the team has tried to stick together through this, but haven't been playing well. they did lose to the warriors last night and the past few days have certainly been rocky for the team after these recordings surfaced on friday. meantime, a growing call for sterling to not own this nba franchise any more. a franchise that he has owned for more than three decades. one of the people calling for that is magic johnson who is named in the recordings possibly by sterling. and everyone, plenty of people have been speaking out. everyone from the president of the players' association to the president of the united states.

silent protest against sterling by wearing black at the game. and the national basketball players association asked the nba to ban sterling from future playoff games this season. sterling complied. he was not at yesterday's game, but his wife sat courtside. she supported sterling, telling espn, "i don't condone those statements and i don't believe them. i'm not a racist, i've never been, never will be. the team is the most important thing to my family." now the players' association asking the nba to levee the maximum sentence possible against sterling and the group wants to play an active role in the investigation and know punishment to follow. former warriors owner and current sacramento kings owner also commented. he says those are shameful and reprehensible words and if they are authenticated, then i believe we should have zero tolerance. i have full faith that the

several incidents happened and a third happened near warm springs and brown road last week. police say someone shot a bb gun at passing cars and the first two incidents the drivers of the two cars were hurt when their driver's side windows were hit. a third victim was not injured. the case against a sonoma county supervisors accused of trying to break into a santa rosa home will go to the jury today. 33-year-old is charged with one misdemeanor count of peeking. he's accused of prowling and attempting to pry open a woman's window wearing only his underwear and socks. while police were on the way, he knocked that front door, identified himself as a neighbor and then ran away. the alleged incident happened in july. 6:57. the stow away from the south bay who hitched a ride to hawaii in the wheel well of a jet could be reunited with his father this week. his father released a statement yesterday saying, "we were relieved to hear of his safety, considering the circumstances of this trip.
