she attacked a student who was bullying her daughter. the incident happened back on friday at olivet elementary school. christie smith joins us live in santa rosa. christie, deputies say this happened on campus. >> good morning, they do. they say it happened at the noontime hour on friday. bullying is something that has been in the news and something schools have been trying to deal with, but rarely does it take this type of twist. a mom is accused of coming here to this charter school in santa rosa and confronting the student that she believed was her daughter's bully and then grabbing that student by the throat. now, sonoma county sheriff deputies say they took this report friday afternoon at olivet elementary school where staff told them that a student was assaulted by a parent. investigators say around lunchtime that 30-year-old came to the school without checking in at the office, which is something oftentimes parent are asked to do first. she say then she went it her son

russian president vulat mere putin is ordering trips in regions near ukraine to return to their home bases. russian officials insisted no build up towards the border saying the troops in the region were involved in regular training. this move appears to indicate putin's intention to de-escalate the crisis in ukraine. he also says he will support round table talks in the country. south korea's president wants to disband the country's coast guard after it failed in

its rescue efforts during last month's ferry disaster. lawmakers should transfer the coast guard's responsibilities to the national police agency and a new government body she plans to form. the ferry capsized about a month ago. more than 300 people are presumed dead. 286 bodies have been recovered, but 18 others are still missing. officials say the thousands of fish who washed up dead on a southern california shore probably died from lack of oxygen. the l.a. county sheriff's department found the fish on saturday in marina del ray after getting numerous calls from concerned residence. the dead fish include anchovies and rays and whiildlife experts say the fish may have suffocated because there are so many fish in the water. >> everything is dying and it's happening right in front of our eyes. >> now, officials are worried about the stench left behind. something similar did happen in

close attention to the forecast in the bay area as we have a lot of ceremonies coming up this next weekend throughout the bay area. taking a live look outside from san francisco, little cloudy start to our day, christina is going to look at that forecast for us. >> good morning, san jose state graduating this weekend. congrats to all the grads out there. taking a live look. here's san francisco, mostly cloudy conditions to kick off the day. temperatures are mild, though, as a result of that blanket of clouds overhead. mostly in the 50s. good morning san francisco, you're at 57 degrees and here's a live look at san jose. same cloudy sky. now, we started out clear and you're going to notice those clouds increasing throughout the day today. intervals of clouds and sun as the storm system moved through. that would bring about the windy conditions, as well, at the immediate coastline. that means the cool, ocean air will be transported inland as a result. now, we do have an unstable environment out there. air mass overhead pretty unstable as a result we could

get some thunderstorms as of this evening and better chance for tomorrow. for today, we're calling it a mix of sun and clouds in the south bay and 71 degrees there and 62 in san francisco and comfortable conditions in oakland today. 66 for you and, hey, hard to beat 74 degrees in the north bay. as you know, we're getting ready to kick off the unofficial start of summertime on monday, memorial day and temperatures will warm up as we get closer and closer to that date. you'll already notice here pretty strong wind out there this morning. this could impact your drive. speaking of which, let's check on that right now. here's our own mike inouye. >> wind advisories hold on because you might get a gust or two. over here 580 westbound you see the camera shaking a bit. farther east and the altamont pass, we have a smooth drive but building up here just before the off ramp and we look at the map and unusual slowing, but not for west 580, that's a pretty typical drive and 20 minutes

south from it dublin interchange and all the way down towards highway 84 in sunol and speeds come back up out of the orange zone and back up in towards 50 miles per hour for that entire stretch. that's an extra slow coming out of the tri-valley and coming into the south bay. a light volume right now from 680 on northbound 101 all the way up towards 880 as christina and laura were talking about, we'll start to see a little bit of an ease or change-up in the patterns as we approach the summer vacations for a lot of the areas here. we're looking over towards the east shore freeway and laura gets a little chuckle. westbound 80 and down towards the berkeley curve and a smooth drive and give you a look at the bay bridge toll plaza and a lot slower right now coming off that berkeley curve and i don't find a reason for that on our reports, i'll track it and back to you. >> the parent are saying, go get
