we're back with "today's buzz" when we catch you up on everything hollywood you may have missed over the weekend because it was so gorgeous. >> from the michael jackson performance to george clooney, chris witherspoon from thegrio.com has all the scoop. the michael jackson hologram, that was interesting and hard to -- i don't know. i thought it was a little creepy. >> it was a feat.

it was amazing to watch. his hologram came out and performed -- 16 dancers behind him, performed "slave to the rhythm." it was amazing and people in the audience were crying, emotional. and there was a little bit of buzz behind the hologram, the company that owns the hologram, hologram usa said there were a bunch of lawsuits flying around that they didn't want it to take place, but it won, the show went on. it was amazing. >> it went over well. >> people were on their feet the whole time. >> just reminds you of what an unbelievable talent he was. nobody like him. >> and it seemed so authentic. >> dances were great. >> robin thicke, we hear he wants his girl back and decided to declare it. sort of at the bill board music awards. >> the song "get her back." people were buzzing saying that this song was actually a way too get paula patton so listen to him, to hear his plea, take him back. we sought comment from robin thicke and they said they have no official statement.

brings people from diverse backgrounds together. >> passionate fans. >> yes. so it is still a very relationship rich story. >> you do something when you write your books, you send bits and pieces out to people you trust and know. i read you deleted a chunk of your manuscript after slaving over it. >> every minute behind that screen feels like saving over it. it still worked, but i love what i do. i love writing about relationships. when you get lost in the story like i did with this one, and the turbulent friendship and all the turbulence and the relationships in this book, time can -- just a piece of it. i never do backup saves. i need to do that. yeah. >> some of your fans want to ask you a question. shannon asks, was there a moment that led you to quit your legal career and turn to focus on writing? >> there is an a-ha moment in the book.

to get the easy breezy beachy feel at home is amy goodman, contributing editor at "coastal living" magazine, which i love. i love that magazine. >> so peaceful. >> you can do that and make your whole house feel like the beach. >> that's the idea. the first of our do it yourself ideas is things you can do any home to transform and give you that great beachy feel. >> okay. >> so we're going to start off with this great coat rack. when you first enter a home, it sets a mood. we took the oar, sanded it and primed it. you can paint it in a green or sea blue. we found fabulous little drawer pulls, you can use hooks you find at your local hardware store. the trick here is just to make the drill hole a little bit smaller than the actual screw and then you can manually put these right in. d rings in the back to hang it up and instant impression. we're always wondering what do we do with all the shells we

have collected from all our travels, from the beach. here we have beautiful decorative mirror. first tip, if you get these shells yourself, sometimes they have a slightly oceany fragrance. treat it in one part bleach with one part water, soak it and this will eliminate any residual odor from that. we put some baby oil on it to pretreat it. and then you're ready to go out and work with a hot glue gun, putting down the big shells first and then the medium and small to fill in the gaps. >> okay. this is cute. >> that is cute. >> you take a standard lamp you have at home and give it a nautical twist that is very unique and fabulous. start from the top of the lamp, you put the hot glue gun all the way around and then just put the first ring around. you work your way down and, like, about two inches of sections of hot glue. we'll show you, you don't have to glue the entire thing, a little section of glue here and about -- like two inches or so, when it decides to come out and you can secure your rope. >> i can never do it, sorry.

through and with your paintbrushes put on a color of your choice, these are fabric paints. and just put that all over your fan shaped shell. you want a nice wide shell with deep grooves that will make a nice stencil impression. you can roll it on to the pillow because if you just press it down simply, you only get a few lines. for anybody at home, do practice on a paper or remnant cloth before you get started. >> this way? >> you can roll it on for that beautiful shell look. it is a great start. >> you need more than i was putting there. >> with did them in rows, by color. >> thank you, amy. >> tomorrow, actress charlize theron is with us. >> and amy brenneman sits down with us. and a performance by dierks
