and they encountered this young woman out on the street. they arrived on scene at which point on the deputy weapon and the individual was declared dead on the scene. i'm told the county crime lab spent hours on the scene. at 3:00 this morning. it is standard in these situations to be paid on paid leave while a joint investigation is underway. >> we have a new video this

morning from the taliban. it shows bergdahl which is raising questions. >> the safe return of the one and only pow from the war in afghanistan by taliban soldiers and it shows this arrangement in returning the soldier at one point the two groups actually shake hands but this video is raising serious questions about his rescue. he is blinking in the light he is dressed in a whiteout fit there as he steps out of the car. a black hawk helicopter comes in and you can see hes led to that helicopter and gets a pat down. and then is whisked away.

before that, you see the men from the black hawk shake hands with them. he does not look healthy, he is not emaciated. and that is raising questions on capitol hill. >> there was not been a case made that he was suffering from a health standpoint to the degree in which a decision had to be made immediately. they raised white flags as you can see.

place is on fire. she was able to make an escape. this became fully involved and they ended up calling for a second alarm. they were afraid that if they didn't have the back up it might be difficult to keep this from spreading the fire did not spread. the other three had to be evacuated for obvious reasons but they were not damaged. and as i mentioned they had to turn off the utilities the gas, the water and off camera we

talked to a man that lived up front. he said i can only come in here during the day. no one was hurt seriously during this, no one was hurt. the woman who lives there may have left something on. whatever that thing was, they wouldn't say heated up in front of this fire. reporting live, bob burdell today in the bay. firefighters had that one as well. gunshots were reported at the fire. it turned out to be paint cans exploding. happening now. around 3:00.

drivers calling in sick again because of a contract this year. things should be better this morning compared to the last few days. >> we have more drivers than yesterday. we are expecting 600 drivers. even though traffic has been restored you expect delays. they will give us more detail. plan for a longer drive. your trains will have two cars per train and no cable cars this morning. they are honoring again their fares between downtown. along market street they travel on the ground. over here we are looking at the city on the freeways. the toll plaza lights are on. we haven't seen as much of a flow there.

tornados through iowa and kansas yesterday. meteorologists say it will take a few more hours to make sure that they were actually tornados. those were powerful storms that were moving through the midwest. softball sized hail this is video you see the house pummeled by huge holes. battles from that hail storm.

an update now to breaking news. we just heard from the brother of the 18-year-old woman shot to death overnight from police. the brother said his sister had a knife when she was shot. it happened after someone called 911. deputies not saying much about what led up to the disturbance but said the 18 year old was acting violently. good morning. >> good morning to you. well that deputy is saying that

he got scared during this confrontation and that is why he opened fire on this 18 year old young woman. her brother who is saying that he wants a lot of questions answers. he doesn't understand why this had to end in a deadly confr confrontati confrontation. he did say his sister had a knife. he says that she may have been off her medication and during times like this they call in an ambulance to help deal with her. sheriff's dep pis showed up and she had a knife. they responded to a housing conplex last nice a report of a woman and a family disturbance and she was armed. here is what the family will say. >> we want answers.

firefighters busy overnight with two fires. the first inside a garage in gross mont drive. the second fire 15 miles south of there not far from oak grove high school. that is where today in the bay joins us live. many people homeless because of that condo fire. >> because of the utilities, like the water, and gas have had to be shut down here. laura. so the people are having to rely on the good graces of the red cross. that is the result of a fire that starts around 1:00 this morning. a woman called 911 and got the fire department out here. they had to call for back up. calling for a second alarm and did not spread anywhere else. you have a good job of keeping it contained in that unit. there is a total of 11 people
