mike? yes. we're looking at the toll bay plaza. up towards berkeley it's really not your major commute direction but it is closed for the next 30 minutes as they head towards the bay bridge. we'll see changes with the cones and the center did i individual moved by the cones and that will be around 5:00. no problems right now. you can see the lights across the span. san mateo bridge as well, all of the bridges moving light volume of traffic and a clear view. great start to this friday. it will get crowded. back to you. >> thank you very much. we have new details about the shooting at seattle pacific university. it was ibarra who shot four people. one person later died at the hospital. a security guard stepped in when ibarra stopped shooting to

reload. >> pepper spray and then got him to the ground where other people inside the facility were able to subdue him and they waited for police to arrive. >> but for the great response by the people at seattle pacific university, this incident might have been much more tragic. >> seattle pacific university is a small, private christian school. ibarra was not a student there and his motive is unclear. police in sunnyvale say the man their officers shot and killed is accused of murdering a woman that lived with them. officers tried to serve a search and arrest warrant for glenn griggs. the lady has not been found and police think he killed her. officers opened fire on griggs after they say he grabbed a gun and refused to put it down. there is the 18th homicide

of the year in san jose. officers found a body near piercy road. he was stabbed. police have not released a motive or name of the victim. more urgent calls for reforming college sexual assault policies. this time at stanford where an attacker was found guilty by the university but yet he will graduate on time. the man was suspended by the university for five quarters and given 40 hours of community service after a review board looked into the case. but francis says this is insufficient. >> i really want this to come out into the open so we can confront the administration and i want to know that no survivor at stanford is going to be treated the way that i was treated again. >> stanford university released

a statement which says, "the university cannot comment on a specific case and we regret any circumstance in which a student believes the process here at stanford has not met their expectations." it's 4:33. ryan chamberlain, who is charged with having bomb-making materials, will be back in court on a detention hearing. yesterday officers returned to his home to gather more evidence. they removed some items from the home. a bomb squad was there just in case. officers arrested chamberlain on monday following a three-day manhunt. lawyers expect the woman accused of attacking a 9-year-old girl with a hammer to enter a plea in court today. investigators say the woman walked on to a west oakland school last week, lured the girl into the bathroom and hit her repeatedly in the privates with a hammer. she also punched the girl all over the body.

this is a mother of another student and she faces several sexual assault charges. a news conference will be held today to talk about a recent trend called wilding. it's teenagers tearing through the streets and terrorizing anyone in their path. it's happening all across the country. police in san leandro have responded to three wilding attacks near the bayfair station. u.s. army captain mike viti is walking more than 4400 miles across the court to raise awareness about the sacrifices that troops and their families make. today he'll be stopping in san francisco to talk to the 49ers and head coach jim harbaugh. that's roughly 7100 kilometers and that represents the number of service members killed in the iraq and afghanistan wars.

a somber day in europe. this morning marks the 70th anniversary of the d-day invasion. president obama will honor the men and women who lost their lives on the beach in normandy. president hollande will be attending that lunch and vladimir putin. president obama spoke at the american cemetery saying that the american commitment to liberty is written in blood on the beaches of normandy. the bluffs over look omaha beach. june 6th, 1944, was the most violent day of fighting on that beach. nearly 10,000 of the men who are buried at that cemetery. they gathered on the beach this morning to watch the sunrise. members of the 29th infantry division stood with soldiers to mark the exact moment that

we have a gorgeous, gorgeous evening ahead. sun will set at 8:25 and get ready, though, temperatures are going to climb by 10 degrees tomorrow. we're talking triple digits by sunday. that's the peak of it, though. 71 for san francisco and 86 degrees in the south bay. it's a friday. i'm always happy to have mike inouye with us. >> unfortunately, on saturday i think we're going to be here but we'll use your forecast on the weekend. no major problems southbound 101 through san rafael. a crash at highway 12, much farther north. a car went off the road. no lanes are blocked. looking at the maze as you approach with the taillights on the right hanging around the berkeley curve. that's westbound 80. the separation, the split is where there's a report of a crash but no disturbance to the flow. we'll track that. meanwhile, at the top of the

screen we have a smooth dry. slowing at north 880 where you lose one lane past 23rd. the rest of the bay is moving smoothly. a nice drive at the bottom of the screen as well as the speed sensors are moving nicely. this is what we'd expect at 4:39. they are moving nicely and staying in their lanes. we're happy about that. back to you. i wonder if there are any football fans. they better brace themselves. caltrain will have to decide if they are going to raise the parking prices from 20 to $25. they are trying to decide if the big events like the 49ers to discourage people from filling the mountain view lot and riding light rail to avoid higher parking fees. but some customers we talk to say if the proposal passes, they will speck the train entirely and take a taxi instead. >> coming from sunnyvale to

welcome back, everyone. it's 4:44 right now. nice, clear look outside along the embarcadero of san francisco. great temperatures heading our way. it's 4:44. a silicon valley business will already be worth near $3 billion when it's introduced on wall street this morning. its first shares were priced at $43 yesterday. the company will start trading on the new york stock exchange at the opening bell this morning under the symbol anet. in business news, bank of america could end up shelling billions of dollars to the u.s. government for its mortgage practices. seema mody has the details. good morning, seema. >> good morning.

it's definitely a story we're watching today. bank of america is in talk to settle probes by the justice department and several u.s. states over its shoddy mortgage practices and could pay $12 billion. 5 million is expected to go to consumer relief in reducing homeowner principal balances. in other news, a check on the markets, futures are higher after stocks rallied on thursday on the back of the decision by the european central branch. the may jobs report is expected to show another solid month of hiring. the economy is forecasted to add $220,000 jobs and unemployment to tick up to 6.4%. nasdaq was up 44 in yesterday's trade. target is targeting millennials

knowing that it is friday is getting nice weather on a friday. >> christina? >> temperatures are mostly in the 50s. we've got a great looking week ahead, my friends. if you enjoyed yesterday, basically a repeat performance. as we get into saturday and sunday, the heat is on the heat is on. for today, 70s and 80s at the coast and around the bay. meanwhile, we are going to see the triple digits. places like antioch is the place to be right here, the beach. comfortable conditions for you. santa cruz, up to 85 degrees on sunday. now, the water is still cold. you're still about 55 degrees in the pacific ocean. offshore, santa cruz. but i can tell you, it's going to be nice and you can get in there and run back out and dry off. and what a great weekend to get the kids out there. a lot of kids are off for summer vacation at this point as well. i want to draw your attention to the fact that this heat is going

closing its doors, happy donuts will serve its last customer at 10:00 p.m. the donut shop became the popular hangout because it was the only place opened in palo alto 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. the store lost its contract with the landowner. they are hoping to return eventually. you can still get your happy donut fix. >> who would know that donut was a clutch with late night foods. hamburger, fries, and donuts, too. today is national donut day. >> when do we start to celebrate? >> how about right now? >> why not? psycho donuts is offering a special today. it looks like that right there. it's a red velvet donut covered with frosting on a stick.
