'12, '13, and '14 now. williams is the magic man and has been. martin st. louis has had some magic in overtime for the rangers. your thoughts about both teams going into this sudden death? >> the first thing coming from the coaches for sure, doc, is the long changes in this period. your defensive zone is the farthest way from your bench. rangers, left wingers and defensemen have to be sure. for the kings, right wingers. change before you're tired. those guys specifically have to hold until you can get fresh bodies on the ice and then get over and make the change. >> doc: o.t. is underway. the first play is muzzin's. back in deep.

st. louis plays. hagelin turns behind the net. st. louis and the blue paint but hagelin can't control the pass to him. kopitar sped it behind and voynov connects with muzzin and along the pass kicked to st. louis and the shot is deflected off kopitar. along to get it as pearson escapes one. pearson pushed it back in and tried to get after it. no icing on the play. mcdonagh turning with it there. mcdonagh glides and sends a pass directed by hagelin. the second time he played it back in. quick spiked it free. handed it over to martinez. it curls all the way to center where hagelin touched back and john moore lifted it back in. quick slows it again. this time it's doughty to take. has trevor lewis and carter out there with pearson who carries. knifed away from him. blasted one. >> pierre: the stress.

tucked right back into traffic off of lewis who deflects it off the back hand and stepan took over. girardi ahead. ladled back in by nash. moving in is doughty. oh, and a chance here as it bounces around. a shot. my goodness. played back further. mcdonagh tried to knife it through. it's blocked by quick. rifled off the glass and back out. racing for it is lewis. lewis got there by mcdonagh and puncheds away by girardi. girardi can protect it ther there.what do you think of this? do you like it? it is fun because it matters. it is important to the series. williams is able to finesse it back out. close calls are part of what makes this sport exhilarating, and there have been plenty of those.

mike richards is giving it to wes mccally. rick nash such a wise player in these situations. taking the inside. he skates into williams. williams puts it down but he sells it big time. once williams felt nash coming down there, he moved a little bit to his left. that was a great call by referee wes mccally who made the call on dominic moore for high-sticking jeff carter. then you saw the stick flailing from rick nash. you'll have four-on-four hockey for 37 seconds. becomes man on man. the defense has the forwards. >> doc: brassard and staal and it is carried back out. brown brings it on. has voynov moving. brown with a pirouette move and a shot to the corner by john moore. the power play begins for the
