green bean coffee company. if you have never been to one of their stores it's understandable. while green beans roast their coffee here they have no retail outlets in the bay area. the locations tend to be a bit more exotic. >> about moving it to qatar. >> reporter: they started it 20 years ago with a single gourmet coffee shop in saudi arabia. soon the u.s. military was asking them to open caves on bases all over the middle east including post 9/11 afghanistan and iraq. >> our staff would go to work wearing kevlar and flat jackets. >> reporter: jason says green beans strives to give not just coffee but 15 minutes of home. still, they wanted to do even more which is how cup of joe for

a joe started. for $2 folks state side can send a cup along with a message to a random service member overseas. with over a million cups delivered in five years it h been wildly successful and unexpected. no one anticipated the volume of thank you notes that would come back from soldiers nor did they expect the friendships, the pen pals -- >> i signed up for the program a day before. >> reporter: and the one marriage -- >> my first cup of coffee from this one. >> reporter: that would result from it. whitney, a remember former peace corps volunteer sent steven serving in afghanistan a cup of coffee last year. >> exactly. >> reporter: jason is thrilled with the idea that his company has brought love to two people. he is genuinely moved, though, to think it has brought a moment of peace to so many more.

bringing a band of high clouds and scooping up low clouds that will come spilling in as we move towards tomorrow morning especially along the coast. overnight tonight low clouds forming. areas of mist and drizzle. throughout the afternoon partly cloudy conditions and temperatures tomorrow with the all day sea breeze running cooler than today. near 80 degrees in san jose. san francisco seeing the highs only in the mid 60s. to the north bay napa about 82 degrees. 71 in oakland. if you are looking for things to do around the east bay we have kite day up at kite hill in berkeley should see temperatures in the low 70s. bringing cooling changes ahead especially for places inland across the north bay. we are talking highs dropping mid to upper 70s. we will talk about the changes and another warmup coming up in just a few minutes. still to come a special

a unique football camp wrapped up today in the south bay with a big game. no helmets, no pads but a lot of heart on the field. there were even 49ers on hand to give advice to athletes, all of whom have down's syndrome. it was designed to give boys who don't make the high school team an experience. this began inspired by long time

manager of valley christian football team who also has down's syndrome. >> always been on the sidelines cheering the guys on. i wanted him to be on the field getting cheered on. i wanted our guys to learn that you don't shy away from people with differences. >> another cool aspect to all of this, each camp member is paired with a high school football player and coaches say the boys often stay in touch throughout the year. while california used to be the only state with something like this it has now spread to four states. south bay firefighters are fundraising for a cure. little boot right there. it is the annual fill the boot campaign to raise money for the musca low dist-- association.

brought up statements that the incident brought into light incivility in the stadium. >> the lead attorney for stow is not allowed to ask about lavish spending. he suggested mccort drained money from the team that could have gone to security. no contest, plea entered by a high profile tech ceo. the ceo of nextdoor. police say he changed lanes on 101 forcing another driver to swerve out of the way. that driver crashed into a barrier but polier kept going. he was immediately sentenced to 30 days in jail and a $239 fine. back here in california when metal thieves strike police don't have the resources to fight back but that may change. state lawmakers are working on legislation that will create a special task force aimed at catching these thieves.

well, a warning to watch out for snakes. al the hot, dry weather may have more of them slivering. a snake wrangler caught one by a pool in belmont. he says he is getting more and more calls for snake removal. with natural water spots drying up for snakes they are preying to water rich areas. on thursday a rattlesnake bit a 74-year-old man in his garage leaving him with a fang mark and swollen hand. >> i figured a spider must have bit me and then i heard a rattle. i have never seen a rattlesnake around the property. >> experts say keep a close eye on open spaces near garages and think twice before reaching into dark spaces. noted. a good head's up there. >> great video of a fantastic creature. >> you said you have seen them.

>> almost stepped on them one day. >> especially when it is warm and dry as rob has been telling us. >> especially in the hills. a lot of folks probably wanting to enjoy the nice weather. in belmont you can run into rattlesnakes. we have a sea breeze. san jose earlier. 76 right now. mostly clear skies. high clouds passing by. moving north to south take you to san francisco seeing more high clouds as opposed to coastal low clouds. by tomorrow morning we should see clouds pushing back to golden gate. cooling changes to arrive. wind speeds gusty. you notice san francisco and oakland wind speeds 20 to 30 miles per hour. getting into fairfield and livermore winds turning on shore. the ocean air conditioning wasn't there early in the day. it is kicking in in full force right now which means be will see a breezy finish to the evening with high clouds at

times. heading towards tomorrow morning we see coastal fog and drizzle, patchy low clouds inland across coastal hill tops. tomorrow highs in the 70s to low 80s. today we hit close to 90. morgan hill also near 90 today. that is a considerable drop off. the culprit for the breezy conditions. you are noticing high clouds. as we zoom in over the bay area you can see the band of high clouds pushing over the south bay. behind it that should bring in low clouds and fog as we head towards tomorrow morning especially west of the golden gate down towards pillar point and around towards santa cruz. towards 8:00 tomorrow morning looking at coastal drizzle. another band of high clouds pass by as we head towards the afternoon as we see cooling changes at least for the first half of the forecast. if you are up around lake county or yuba county a little further

inland a slight chance of instability showers for the afternoon as the cool air aloft comes in for the heating of the day. the rest of the bay area seeing clearing skies as we head through right around this time tomorrow. the pattern shift for the first half of the week will be a cooler one as a trough of low pressure anchors across the pacific northwest. that will keep the sea breeze going and will drop temperatures down mainly into the 60s and lower 80s and the high starts to build back towards the west coast. as we get towards wednesday and thursday this is the mid week warmup. storm track off to the north. no signs of rain for the bay area but we see temperatures climbing back to upper 80s inland most likely as early as wednesday after the short cool down. close to 80 in san jose tomorrow. temperatures around san francisco in the mid 60s. the five day forecast showing temperatures around san jose drop down as we head to monday and tuesday before rebounding

approaching thursday of the week ahead. for the north bay temperatures tomorrow in the near 80-degree range for santa rosa. napa will have a nice day. you have the father's day auto show. should see temperatures in the upper 70s around 3:00. oakland 71 for a high. got the kite festival there. another nice afternoon. plenty of wind to keep the kites moving around as we see temperatures in the low 70s. notice the trend here. highs near 90. tomorrow 82 in livermore. the trend for the north bay also cooling as we get into monday. look at livermore only 70s for a change for the start of the work week and temperatures climbing up closer to 90 for thursday. weather for everybody. good news for dad weather looks great and we see a taste of summer coming our way. >> good temperatures there. thanks so much. thousands of people have gathered at the field of dreams movie site in iowa to celebrate a big anniversary of the film.
