over by the weather center. we're looking over here by the traffic. flashing light through the bottom of your screen, that's westbound 580 as you're approachingfallen. we have construction extending towards the dublin interchange and you might find crews over towards the dublin interchange and the foothills. we're going to continue swinging that camera around. it's in a parking lot, that's just the security for the car sales shop there. we're going to double check on that. meanwhile the other flashing lights are the caltrans crew. i have it pointed over towards the bay bridge, the clouds eek through. you can't make it out. i can just see them over on the left. there's low clouds. be careful there with construction crews. back to you. >> mike the man walked -- a man walked into a center

and was shot. now they don't know who he is, but they do know the shooter senior still on the loose. the circumstances around that shooting very murky. this morning, a judge could decide whether to unseal grand jury transcripts in the man accused of killing a young girl. he's accused of kidnapping and murdering sierra lamar. she was last seen leaving her home in 2012. her body was never found. garcia torres was arrested after police established dna link. he's pleaded not guilty to the charges. we could hear from the bay area man believed to be the master mind behind two websites that advertised prostitution. the websites have been since shut down. eric omo was arrested last week. earlier this week rather, running a site, actually two out of his mountain view home. both allegedly allowed people to find escorts and review strip

clubs. lawyers think he may enter a plea in court today. jurors in l.a. are deliberating about whether the dodgers are responsible for the beating. bryan stow. he was left brain damage after a beating and will require around the clock care for the rest of his life. yesterday, his attorney put that cost at $37 million and requested twice as much for pain and suffering. the cost is lower at about 9 million. loss it claims the dodgers did not security at the stadium. investigators hope surveillance video will help them track down the man who attacked a clerk at a liquor store. the suspect was arguing with the clerk and throwing bottles of liquor at him. happened last week at a store near stephen's creek boulevard. the clerk fought back going after the suspect with a garden tool. the man ended upbeating the clerk to the ground later in this video. then a customer stepped in,

pulled the attacker off, but the man got away. he only suffered minor injuries. >> crazy video there. 4:43, not sure what caused a hanger to catch fire they were able to contain the fire and no planes were damaged. the flames broke out last night. firefighters say while they were battling flames some sort of flammable liquid caught fire. luckily no one was hurt. bridge officials will vote on whether to move forward with plans for suicide barrier on the golden gate bridge. so far, $76 million has been set aside to build a net under the bridge. the district would have to consider overturning the policy that keeps them from using toil money -- toll money to keep the barrier. officials in favor of the plan say the barrier would only be viz frbl a few advantage points

on either side of the bridge. it could be health care tick holiday weekend for drivers, a major artery will be closed. northbound lanes of interstate 280 will be closed from highway 101 to fourth street downtown. it's that same area where southbound lanes were closed last month. the enclosure will allow caltrans to replace a hinge so it'll be sound. this morning the group that manages o.co will make a decision to keep the a's there. even the authority gives the thumbs up for the new lease, the county board of supervisors and the oakland city council must also approve the proposal. it includes an outclause in case the a's are allowed to move to san jose. let's see what's moving in the weather department this morning, checking the forecast with christina loren. >> good morning everybody at home, it's a pleasant start to

the friday morning and we're going to see a pleasant finish as well only climbing in the 70s and 80s, no 90s. but they will be moving in quickly. the peninsula's at 77. 80 degrees in the east bay for today and kind of a cool day in san francisco. only going to hit about 66 degrees. then those triple digits move in quickly. i'll show you that in my next report, right now let's check on your drive, it's 4:36, it's early, but it's looking busy, mike. >> it is. >> that's almost, any time of a weekday morning, westbound where there's a lot of flashing lights going on. i swung that camera 180 and in fact that crew we saw at the bottom of the screen earlier, that was a tractor on a trailer, but it looked like a crew leaving. the headlights westbound and the other flashing lights, pointing you one lane over to the right as you approach the road. that is over on the eastbound side. we have the corridor with little construction. right around the area, it's

still slow from about airway over toward about hacienda then things it clear up as you head past the foothill where the construction zone completely clears. northbound 680 clear. that's where we're seeing the speeds just below 60 for the yellow zone le. now in the south bay, we don't have as much construction on our calendar at least. it's going to move at speed, still construction 880 around the creek and highway 17. the rest of your bay predictable as well. i want to the show you the live look at the golden gate bridge and we have like yesterday mist and visibility issues anywhere north of that bridge, on the north side of the bridge. so far, you see that light volume of traffic, two cars heading into the city, one truck and more cars now. they're following the lights. >> counting blue cars. >> exactly. well it's good morning for san jose basketball star player erin gordon. >> he became the fourth pick in

the nba draft last night. >> with the fourth pick in the 2014 nba draft, the orlando magic select aaron gordon. >> there's the friends and family and all of gordon's basketball coaches. from grammar school to high school, they were all at double d sports bar last night to watch their 6'9" superstar get drafted by the orlando magic. one coach called gordon the hardest working basketball player to come out of arch bishop high school. >> when off guy with the drive of aaron, that comes out as everything. he wants the ball more than the other guys. he's always communicating and doing the right thing. >> as impressive as it is, the gordon family has a lot to celebrate lately. his older brother is up for the draft wasn't picked, but he's now playing in europe and he's going to get a shot in the summer league. and their sister, she just graduated from harvard where she played ball for the ivy league school.

the heart is of silicon valley, startups are heading to oakland, in big numbers. ask.com was the first big company to move. they were expanding and space was cheaper in the east bay. the company's general manager says he's not surprised other people are following their lead. >> i think in terms of what's the perception of oakland, it's just not true. if you come and spend time here, it's a beautiful place to be. there's beautiful gardens and parks and there's families here. there are single people here. it's just not what people think it is. >> many of the new startups in oakland as many others are socially conscious and work to help break the bridge the digital divide. shares of gopro will start their full day of trading yesterday. here was the seen outside the company san mateo headquarters right after shares started trading. the company stock jumping 30% almost right away.

it's friday, june 27th, this is "today in the bay." from nbc bay area, this is "today in the bay." well good morning to you, happy friday, thank you for joining us, i'm scott mcgrew. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. investigators spending the night looking for a gunman in berkeley. police were called to the area in austin way just before 10:00 last night. the victim only identified as a 38-year-old man was taken to the hospital. no word on his condition this morning. and it's unclear, so far, what led up to that shooting. also new this morning, firefighters in san jose were called to davis intermediate school to put out an overnight fire. it's unclear what was on fire but crews reported seeing smoke coming out of the auditorium. no major damage. it is part of the oak grove school district and students are out for summer break. well this morning golden gate bridge o
