lu in honolulu. >> it is still on the way and still a category three, laura. that is the bad news. the good news is it's looking like it's tracking to the north. it will side swipe and not make a direct hit as iselle is making landfall in hilo right about now. that is downgraded to a tropical storm. a couple hours ago they made the numt it slowed down a bit. that's not as good of news as you might think. it sounds good, but it's a difference of 5 miles an hour. they are experiencing hurricane gusts. very fast wind that is cutting through the island. we know there about 15,000 people who don't have power. as far as the real deal, it's still kind of the middle of the

night here in highway high. it's after 1:00 a.m. and we are expecting first light to be able to assess what's happening. in honolulu it has been hit or mess miss with the storm. most of it hasn't hit here yet. >> get cover for yourself, jennifer. here's a live look at hilo. the big island is bearing the brunt of the storm right now. rain and wind coming down. more on where iselle is headed next. >> the storm has weakened considerably and sustained winds down to 60 miles an hour. the gusts right there close to where the storm is. 37 miles per hour in hilo and we are seeing the outer understand bands sweeping across the area on the big island near volcanoes national park. that's where the landfall is as

they progress slowly in. some of the storm effects will be the rain on the windward side of the islands. that could see a foot of rain as the water comes crashing down. flash flooding and the main concern on hawaii. kind of staying south and not impacting oahu or kauai. the storm knows it to move on and away and quickly later on today. well south of maui and oahu. julio struck into a category three hurricane. again, the path of the storm continues to go north of the islands. perhaps tropical storm force winds on the northern island and rough surf, but julio looks like it will dojt hawaiian islands.

hitting land, hurricane iselle was downgraded to a tropical storm, but still bringing 70 mile an hour winds and likely up to a foot of rain. showing that storm surge sweeping through the streets and ahead of the storm right now in the same area, three storm chasers are reportedly trapped on the eastern tip of the island. all possible routes out blocked by downed trees. >> as we mentioned earlier, christina and mike are visiting hawaii. he went to a local store to pick up food and water and there reports of price gauging, it wasn't the case where he was. >> from hawaii news now, what's the highest price you have seen for water. this case was $30. 4:55. it always pays to be prepared. we will continue to track the
