from nbc bay area, this is "today in the bay." good friday morning, it is 4:30 right now, i'm kris sanchez. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. lots to get to, let's check the forecast and meteorologist rob mayeda, how are we looking? >> looking great, foggy in parts of the bay area. san francisco over towards the peninsula. that's the view inside at&t park. sea breeze right now, and later on today on nbc bay area get to the giants and phillies coming up at 7:15. mid-60s around game time there at at&t park. temperatures today, mid-80s around san jose, upper 60s closer to san francisco around the north bay mid-80s.

san rafael, 90 degree temperatures. temperatures in the low 70s, take your pick, you have two sporting events coming up this evening. >> two in one, boets sides of the bay, it might be crowded. easy drive right now. we have the cash lanes on both sides of the fast track lanes showing cars stacking up. typically that means one of the cash lane is not yet open, give if it a few maps. we'll look at the approach, looks nice, but northwest 780 there is a crash actually down on the jauch ramp. the freeway itself reports all lanes clear. watch that commute and northbound 242, words all lanes reopened after an earlier major injury crash north 242. counter-commute in the area. the person involved, we're concerned about them as well.

>> sounds good, thank you, mike. san jose police hope to learn more today about the woman shot and killed by officers after police say she was thre threating police officers. you can see in the video she repeatedly points what looks like a gun toward the officer. why they tell her to drop the weapon her hands up. that weapon turned out to be a power drill, painted black. police released this picture of the drill yesterday afternoon. neighbors say the whole neighborhood was blocked off. >> i heard it, and i came from the lucky's area, and there was a ambulance sitting in luckies. as soon as the gunshot happened, the ambulance came down blossom hill because the street was blocked off. >> police were initially called because the woman was threatening her family with an uzi. officers tried to tell her to

give herself up but they had to shoot. the investigation is ongoing, no one else was hurt. and now to the latest developments in missouri. in 90 minutes, police will release the name of the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old may call brown in ferguson sp k sparking days of violent protest. ferguson was calm overnight, though not quiet. >> hands up. >> don't shoot. >> protesters walked and rode down the street with their hands up in the air symbolically showing police that they are unarmed. it is reportedly one of the last things michael brown did before he was shot. security is now being handled by ferguson and captain of the highway patrol. instead of lining the streets in riot gear, highway patrol officers marched along with the protesters. >> you can stay out here all night, the only thing i ask is that we pull back a little bit.

>> there is a different feel. there's not as much tension. i feel a great positive force that's in the air. there's a lot of hope here. >> in new york city, hundreds of people walked and ran through the streets near time square in solidarity with the folks in ferguson. overnight, ten people were arrested for various charges including inciting a riot. yesterday at franklin gala plaza. another protest is scheduled for tonight. eric holder did speak with the family of michael brown yesterday and promised a full independent civil right's investigation. police are urging fremont residents to lock up and be prepared after three home invasions in just two weeks. the most recent happened around this time tuesday morning at a home in monticello terrace in a high end community. the latest case, twos men busted into the home, held a couple at

gunpoint. the gunman took off with valuables and financial information. last week police arrested jamala morris. a few days later, a grandmother was tied up inside her home while two suspected ransacked the home. >> it is scary. it's not typical for us. fremont typically sees less than five home invasions in a year. in the last two weeks, we've had three. >> neighbors think the suspects got in through is a hole cut in the fence. police are still looking for people responsible for two of the home invasions. ♪ a fitting way so say good-bye, sir paul mccartney rocked candlestick park the same way he did with the beatles 48 years ago. 50,000 fans, including myself, can you see me in there?

we witnessed the last public event ever at the stick, and sir paul did not disappoint. >> he rocked his hips a couple times. he was like shaking it and everything, so candid. had us all singing. hey jude, it was fabulous. i'm so happy. >> that's how everyone was leaving there. that place lit up. the show was amazing there, getting there was another story. the show actually started late because so many fans were stuck in traffic. some until 10:30 at night just to get into the show and the show ended just after 11:00. it took hours and hours just to get through traffic and try to find parking in the outskirts of candlestick. >> then hours to get back as well. >> which means i slept 45 minutes. >> get laura some coffee. >> they performed their last concert ever at the stick. it was one of many memorable events, including many giants

games, giants of course that's who it was built for in 1960. it was the birthplace of the dynasty as well. in the koorner of an end zone, dwight clark leaped in the air to snag that joe montana pass. the touchdown was less than a minute left to their first ever super bowl. >> just classic. in 1987, it turned into an outdoor church for pope john paul ii where he had a giant mass. >> october 17th, 1989, the stick swayed and cracked, but did not crumble. everyone remembers the earthquake right before the world series between the giants and the a's. >> just three years ago, a national audience tuned in to monday night football to watch the lights go out twice. two power outages delayed the start of the 49ers-steelers game. a blown transformer was the culprit then. the next big event, is the demolition or implosion

scheduled for some point next year. we've posted a slide show of the historic events of candlestick on our website, nbcbayarea.com. as we say good-bye to candlestick, we are also saying hello to levi stadium. the yard rynes freshly painted as the 49ers welcome fans to watch the team gear up for the first ever home game. >> and on sunday, the 49ers will host the denver broncos. and after complaints from frustrated fans trying to get to the stadium for the first event a couple weeks ago, the team is ready to roll out a new and improved traffic plan just in time for kick off. >> here's hoping. bob redell is at the stadium with more on how fans can get around, sirnlly not the same -- certainly don't want the same reputation as candlestick. >> reporter: good morning kris and laura, the last time fans had a hard time getting to their parking spots and after the earthquake soccer game here at levi stadium, some people had an hour long wait to get on vta.

all involved, the team, vta, the city, and the police, they have met since and they have made some tweaks that they hope will make life easier for fans. traffic wise, city will be opening more lanes on the stadium and engineers tweeted the traffic signals. police will be manning the intersections, more port only signs to direct fans and more parking lots available. including the massive great america lot which was not open the last time around. one thing the team would like fans to do, follow the customized directions to your parking spots. many people ignored those last time around. now the vta wants to avoid the hour long wait. at sunday the transit agency will add an extra express bus line, instead of five, they'll have six. extra trains, and buses running in parallel with the train routes to the stadium. when the 49ers take on the broncos on sunday here at levi stadium at 1:00, this will be a

sold out crowd of 70,000 people. many more than the 48,000. the question is will these tweaks be enough to accommodate those extra 28,000 fans? we'll know in 48 hours. reporting live in santa clara, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> don't run out of food is like they did at the soccer game, it was hard to get a brougaut. how about the game day forecast? >> that should be shaping up nicely. temperatures around santa clara around the afternoon and the 80s for the weekend, that'll be similar to the weather we see around here today. after the low clouds break up, which are bringing us drizzle around san francisco this morning, valley stmps climbing quickly, 80s to low 90s in the forecast today, including around san jose and santa clara. mid-80s today. upper 60s around pacifica, near 70 in san francisco, and low 90s around the tri-valley today and mid-80s up around the north bay where we're again this morning

now to our continuing coverage of the death of robin williams. williams wife says the actor was in the early stages of parkenson's disease at the time

of his death. susan snyder says williams was not ready to share his diagnosis with the public. william's sobriety was in tact despite suffering in the past with alcohol addiction. she did not say when or if he experienced symptoms. local experts say the news of william's diagnosis could raise awareness of the disease. dr. bill langston is the founder of parkenson's institute in sunnyvil sunnyville. he knew rims through charity -- robin williams through charity events. a change of mood will often change up before the more recognizable symptoms like a tremor. >> one of things it can cause is depression. and clearly robin had a long history of depression. >> the williams family hopes his death will help others to find the strength. drugs can drastically improve a

patient's quality of life. one of the world's most well known celebrities suffering from parkenson's is of course michael j. fox. he's been a huge advocate for research and continued with the career despite obvious symptoms. yesterday fox tweeted stunned to learn robin had pd, his support for our foundation predated his diagnosis, a true friend, i wish him peace. fox was 30 and already a television and movie star when he was diagnosed in 1991. he did not go public with the news until seven years later. he then became an activist raising fun to fight parkenson's, one million americans live with parkenson's and 60,000 more people are diagnosed every year. our coverage of course continues online at nbcbayarea.com. there you can read the full statement that was released by william's wife and get more information on parkenson's disease. we have a couple of important recalls to tell you about this morning. the first is a smoke detector.

political tensions appear to be ea easying. the dow rising 61 points to 16,713, nasdaq up 18 to 4453. supermarket chain supervalue is investigating a possible data breach which could have affected more than 1,000 stores. the breach may have taken place in late june or early july, possibly through mallware hackers -- malware hackers. coke buys a stake in monster beverage. monster is the dominant controller controlling 42% of the energy drink market. coke is looking for more revenue after having a decline in sales. earlier this year, it bought a single in keirig green mountain, back to you.

>> thank you so much. let's check the forecast now with meteorologist rob mayeda, i'm happy, it's friday. >> it's nice. >> little sleepy. >> we've made it to friday. temperatures in san jose close to 61 degrees. not much in the way of san jose. san francisco a different story as you look inside at&t park. there you have the low clouds over san francisco and some misty skies, some of those low clouds will get sunshine around midday. then later on this evening, we'll see the low clouds coming back in for the giant's game. 7:15, game you can catch here on northbound bay area, first pitch temperatures close to 65 degrees. parts of the north bay into almost the tri-valley, but not quite. low cloud cover across the bay for the morning, then towards the afternoon, we'll see garagically clearing skies, and very typical summer pattern that we have with the morning low clouds retreating back to the coast through the afternoon. and afternoon temperatures over the next couple of days, you may notice climbing up a few extrab degrees. yesterday upper 80s to near 90. next two days, could see the

inland temperatures around the tri-valley making a run at the low 90s. today near 85 degrees in san jose, san francisco, upper 60s, close to 70 for the afternoon. 78 degrees, raiders game coming up this evening. heading towards 7:00 and for the north bay again, temperatures in the mid-80s. pleasant ton, low 90s today, and as we check out out your weekend forecast. that looks like you'll see the numbers in the low 90s for the weekend. south bay temperatures in the mid-80s, which of course we've got the other big event coming up on sunday with the 49ers hosting the denver broncos. that game early afternoon sunday. the weather should be just picture perfect mostly sunny skies. temperatures there in the mid-80s as we head through the first game kickoff there at the new levi stadium this weekend. back to you, kris. >> thank you very much, rob. utah woman is in critical condition after drinking what she thought was sweet tea at a barbecue restaurant. 67-year-old jan harding poured
