>> good morning to you, looking good, seeing sunshine? san francisco. usually we have to wait until 11:00, so this is indicative of what's a sunny day in san francisco and everywhere in the bay. you'll notice temperatures running cool, you may need a light jeacket this morning, but san francisco will be 70 degrees with the cool ocean wind, a lot of sun, and low to mid 80s, and if you're going to the beaches, a warning for you, expect dangerous swells because we have three tropical storms in the pacific and talking about an increase in humidity tomorrow. that's coming up with a check of the tropics as well. >> get out there, but watch for waves? >> definitely, never turn your back on the water. >> that's true. good advice, thank you, anthony. this morning, shots fired after a concert in the south

bay. one in the hospital this morning. police received multiple calls of multiple shots fired in mountain view. the concert finished at 11:00 when the shots rang out. they locked down the backstage area for hours. investigators confirmed one was shot multiple times and rushed to the local hospital for treatment. no word on extent of the injuries. we spoke with the concert goers minutes after the shooting. >> we're at the concert and herd, like, seven shots, six shots, and with the last one was 20 seconds later, and people started running everywhere. >> police are looking for witnesses who information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in the shooting asking anyone with pictures, video, or evidence to contact mountain view pd. all lanes are now back open on 880 near the coliseum after a crash that killed one person

overnight. the accident happened near 3:15 this morning. when crews arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the wrecked vehicle not breathing. three of the four lanes closed for nearly four hours until 5:00 this morning. details on what caused the accident. intense fire fights on opposite ends of the bay as crews battled two large smokey fires yesterday. not only sbensz, but dangerous, and all dur the evening commute. the first fire in a recycling yard, and then 45 minutes later, a fire raged at a well-known charity in santa clara. an organization that helps those in need find itself in need of thep this morning. a fast moving fire destroyed donations and supplies at hope services. the south bay lost three trucks in santa clara, and it started yesterday afternoon while workers collected donations. hope services provides help and

jobs to people with autism and down syndrome and disabilities. most workers were home for the weekend so no one was hurt and no structures burned, but the group lost three trucks use the to pick up donations at people's homes. >> they represented weeks' worth of work and people's generous contribution to hope services. >> we've been around for 62 years so we're resilient and positive. >> the trucks were ensured and will be replaced, but the donated goods are a loss. the organization hopes people will come by with more donation. the cause of the fire is under investigation. across the bay, clouds of black smoke darkened the skies. a fire alco metal recycling started on mayor island. they didn't know what was burning in the 50-foot high pile. the wind carried the smoke north, and people got a reverse 911 call telling them to shelter

in place. the county hazmat team took air and water samples. when results came back normal at 8:00, they lifted the shelter in place advisory. investigators may never know what toxins were carried into the air, but with metals and plastics burning, it's likely pollutes ended up in the bay and estuarie estuaries. >> a lot of the toxins can build up and cause reproductive harm, cause cancer, all kinds of health problems for the fish and the birds that eat the fish. >> in a statement, alco is grateful no one was hurt, and crews kept the fire contained to the yard and no structures were damaged. the latest updates on the fires, go to nbcbayarea.com and sign up for alerts on our website, that's nbcbayarea.com. now to the continuing

coverage of the major problem at levi stadium, what to do about the bad turf? call in the 18 -wheelers, get new turf before sunrise yesterday, and then they worked all day planting it. they say this turf will be safer and players will not lose their footing unlike the previous turf. this is all costing more money an more time for the 49ers. >> you know, as far as, you know, diving into this and peeling back the onion, i mean, what for? we are getting a new field in. it'll be in there for sunday. >> and this may be a temporary fix. the niners could install a third version of sod and sand next week. this turf problem does not just affect the 49ers, two local high schools are out of luck. they were supposed to play at levi stadium next week, but the games have been postponed. bay area power house was scheduled to play another

catholic high school on national tv at levi stadium, and the game's been postponed until october. we were on the campus in concord, and leaders say the 49ers told them about the changes just yesterday. the movie about the football opened in theaters last night, and same for santa clara, their game has been postponed. a middle school math teacher under arrest accused of having child porn. he's been at the middle school since 2002. he was arrested yesterday morning from his home not far from the school and held on $1 million bail. they are saying little what they found, but so far, they have not discovered local victims in connection with the arrest. now the latest on a sacramento scandal. video shows two chp officers forcing state senator to pull over yesterday morning.

they caught the san diego lawmaker driving the wrong way on a roadway. officers conducted a sobriety test at a nearby gas station. take a look. video there too. authorities arrested him after he failed that test. this marks the fourth arrest involving a state senator this year including leland yee of san francisco. angry and heart broken bay area family is taking the sfpd to court saying the police department is fabricating details about a deadly shooting. friends and family of alex rallied in the park. they also marched to the federal courthouse where his family filed a civil suit. in march, an officer shot and killed him who was armed with a taser. he was a security guard, and that's why he was carrying the stun gun. >> it is our belief that the claim he had pulled out his taser and pointed it at the police did not happen.

>> san francisco police say officers approached him only after getting reports of an armed man air boxing and pacing in the park. the civil suit claims excessive force and claims unspecified damages. was it a misunderstanding or something more sinister? police located the woman who put hospitals on high alert with a fake baby. the baby in the images is life like, but not real. on thursday, the mercy medical cementer issued photos to find the woman and her husband. twice this week, they brought life-like dolls to the hospital and asked for medical treatment. police caught up to the pair yesterday. they face misdemeanor, trespa trespassing charges. >> the assumption can be made she was there for the purposes of switching out a fake life-like baby with a real baby. >> she managed to get upstairs to the maternity ward, and the woman says she and her husband

reported finding dog hair on their food. >> we followed up on a complaint, and when we went there, there were dogs on the patio. >> reporter: the health department believes dog hair was on a plate, so health officials banned dogs from the lazy dog patio. dog lovers not happy with the decision, but they were forced to follow the law. >> it is not legal to bring a dog into a restaurant facility at this point. >> even on the patio? >> even on the patio. >> reporter: well, the law changed. well, at least it will in january. if a restaurant allows it, dogs can legally sit at its owner's feet and dine with the family outside. >> i think it's awesome. you come to dinner, bring the dog, hang outside, it's great. >> as long as you stay outside and keep them quiet under the table, it's fine. >> reporter: it's been great for restaurant owners for the dogs outside the restaurants, this can stay open. >> we violated the rule for a lot of years, glad we're in

compliance now and glad the law changed to accommodate us. >> a lot of people come in claiming they have service dogs, which is a problem now. we discourage that inside a restaurant, but we encourage it on the patio. >> reporter: nbc bay area news. now to a story seen only on nbc bay area. a south bay woman back from the dead and a fortuitous call that may have saved her life. jennifer of morgan hill has an irregular heart beat and was asleep when her heart stopped on august 12. a phone call from her mother woke her up, an accidental redial, and she realized something was wrong. her husband was nearby, performed cpr to restart her heart. >> i never, ever, in my wildest dreams thought this would happen to me, so going through this and still being here, i definitely will cherish each day and moment. >> she left the medical center in good spirits and now has a

and even a concert at levi stadium, plenty of firsts, but what about a wedding? it's about to happen. here's ian cole with the couple about to tie the knot. >> reporter: there's been parking problems outside levi stadium, turf problems inside, and some say scoring problems. now two of the 49ers' biggest fans hope to turn it around. >> born and raised a fan. >> reporter: sunday, the 49 ers play the seg second game of the preseason hours before they're in the stadium suite exchanging vows. >> we're going to be in patrick willis jerseys. >> reporter: they were having the rehearsal dinner at dave and buster's. sunday, the wedding will be at levi stadium. >> people are shock this this is herred idea. >> reporter: after a year and a half long engagement, they had not picked a venue.

>> i e-mailed said, hey, what about getting married in a suite. it was not done before. i wanted to do it even more. >> reporter: the families had mixed reactions. i called my mom, and she said, you're crazy, my dad says, yes, three weeks, i'm done. >> reporter: it's a small wedding, 20 people, so priority was begin to the biggest 49er fans. >> the uncle is the oh fish yent, a good friend is a photographer, everyone wears multiple hats. >> reporter: they are back to work monday, and the honeymoon is quick, a quick trip back to the seats to watch their favorite team. ian cole, nbc bay area news. >> for the love of sports and hopefully to the love that lasts a lifetime. >> good memories. if you're going to the game tomorrow, it's going to be warm. we had complaints last week where it was so hot. you know, tomorrow temperatures are going to be similar to last

week's game. let's start off now, though, and look outside. we got the clouds clearing out, and, in fact, early for this time of day. we have to wait until 10:00 usually, but already seeing clearing in the san francisco and north bay as well. temperatures will be warm, summer-like. 70 in san francisco today, 70s along the peninsula, and 80s inland, south bay to the trivalley. that's the warmest locations with temperatures topping 90 near 90 degrees. let's go to the microclimate zones, and san jose at 96, morgan hill at 84 degrees, and palo alto at 8 1, and san francisco in the 70s, and heys valley at 66. santa rosa 82 today, and oakland 77 and trivalley, again, without a doubt, the warmest location. we have a couple events happening. one in danville. in fact, music in the park

today, this evening, looking for something to do? family friendly event. 6:00 this evening through 8:00. you'll see the temperatures comfortable. once the sun does go down, but, again, 4:00, it's going to be toasty. grab the water, dress in loose-fitted clothing to make it feel more comfortable. the tropics. we have three tropical systems. this here, in particular, this is tropical storm lowell. now, you can see as it's moving nort -- not moving a lot, not very organized. i have the water vapor imagery turned on with this, and this tells the story of dry area in the bay area for us here at home. to note here throughout the next couple days, the outer bands, some of the outer bands you see here, those are showers and thunderstorms that are starting to form around the center of low pressure. what's going to happen over the next couple days, the coastline from southern california up to the bay area is looking at the threat for rip currents and increased humidity because of

that moisture that's going to come this way. by tomorrow afternoon, what you'll find, again, we'll have a few clouds across the coastline, but look what happens by 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, the humidity hits the coastal mountains, talking about the potential of powering clouds, beginning stages of thunderstorms, but i don't think we'll get thunderstorm activity, but it will feel sticky, especially if you're going to be headed to the chargers-49ers game tomorrow. tomorrow, kickoff, 77 degrees, and throughout the game, the warmest part of the day is going to come at the third quarter, so by 4:00, we're talking about temps in the mid-80s. keep it in mind i told you about the humidity being up there. we're talking about a heat index close to 90 degrees tomorrow in the stadium. definitely make sure you take plenty of breaks, get out of the heat, into the shade, and, of course, drink water. over the next couple of days, it's not getting boater.

kind. today in the bay's garvin thomas has the story. >> reporter: when the owners bought this home five years ago, it was not the square footage or the quality of neighborhood schools that sold them on it. it was, of all things, the garage. it was perfect. not for parking cars, mind you. but for practicing their craft. brothers are the founders and coaches of team m. a 10-year-old demonstration team. >> elite athletes. you get together, you have the finest quality. >> reporter: the brothers began practicing their art as young boys in vietnam at the insistence of their late father, not loving it at the time, but growing to. >> i don't know when, it just one day, oh, this is my life. >> reporter: over the past

decade, they have grown team m into a power house placing dozens of members on u.s. national teams, even medaling at international competitions. they do it all from the garage in winter and backyard in summer, and all to their competitors' amazement. >> the reaction is always surprising. sometimes they give you that, i'm surprised, and sometimes it's looking at you, like, wow, how do you possibly, physically do it? >> reporter: still, it's not just the facility that makes team m stand out, but the mission as well. team m. is a nonprofit. none of the coaches are paid, none of the athletes charged tuition. the brothers who all have day jobs in high-tech say it's their way to give back to the sport they love and the man who started them in it. >> after he passed away, we really committed to continue to go on with the sport, and

welcome back, 7:43 the time now, waking up to nice conditions here on this saturday. in fact, we are usual lly cloud in here at this time, but we are clearing out already. in the south bay, you get a good perspective. the dark clouds clearing out and the foothills clearing out. san francisco bay clearing out and the north bay. temperatures are seasonal, and close to average, 70 in san francisco, and warmest spot is the trivalley. the microclimate zones, and san jose at 84, and palo alto at 81

degrees, san francisco, a good mix of upper 60s, low 70s from heys valley, and the moreno district, cooler, and 86, though, in walnut creek, and livermore up to 89, and meanwhile pleasanton, 85, and temperatures close to 90 in many locations. the tropical moisture is headed our way, and, in fact, starting tor tomorrow, the increased humidity is felt. it's sticky out there because of the call storm. the orange on the map is dry air. you see the blues down in the south, and, in fact, that's some of the thunderstorm bands forming around the center of low pressure you see there, and that activity, the -- associated moisture with it is actually going to continue to move up in southern california and eventually right here in the bay area as we head through the day tomorrow. not only is if going to kick up the surf, but it's going to

increase our humidity. tomorrow afternoon, 2:00, you'll notice on the key, not too moist, but look what happens by the afternoon, and, in fact, by 6:00 or 7:00, that humidity starts to kick up there, especially in the east bay hill, down into the south bay, and san jose in the mid-80s tomorrow feeling a little more hot and more sticky. you know, here in the bay area, we don't get humidity, so tomorrow's going to be one of those days where you want to limit time outdoors, and if you can, find a cool place like the beach if you're headed to the beaches, again, keep it in mind, the tropical storm to the south, kicking up the waves, and there's an increase the threat of rip currents and potential for dangerous swells because of the activity in the pacific, which you'll notice. comfortable conditions in santa cruz, mid-70s today and tomorrow. beautiful conditions at the beaches, but, again, remember that threat does exist, so keep an eye on the little ones if you headed out there. next couple days, continues to
