it's a first down after the 37 yard gain. the ball is at the 35 yard line. campbell running around, throws, the pass is incomplete, intended for jeremy hill. so cris, you asked me before what the odds were in my mind of arizona getting to the super bowl, i threw out a number. so what would be the odds in your mind of cincinnati getting to the super bowl, not winning, getting to the super bowl. >> cris: getting to the super bowl i would say about 20-1. >> al: according to george hill, who knows people all around the country. >> cris: he knows people. >> al: he knows people who know people, 37-1 to get there. >> cris: roeally? >> al: excuse me, 14-1 to get there. 37-1 to win the super bowl. pretty good guess. second and ten. and that pass is caught by kevin

bride. it would end the longest current drought trying to win a playoff game for the first time since 1990. so i said the cardinals were 16 1/2-1, they're actually 28-1 to make it to the super bowl, 60-1 to make it. >> cris: really? >> al: again, george hill knows people who knows people. >> cris: if george says it's so then i'm going with it. >> al: third and nine now from the 34 yard line. and campbell is going to take a time-out. here is a good little quiz for you. andy dalton, bengals quarterback, his first three years in the league and there's a guy on the right, we'll ask you to figure out who this is. look at this, first three years,
8:03 pm
same number starts the other guy started every game his first three years, wins very close, tds very close, passer rating almost the same, so who do you think the other guy would be. >> cris: well, because i was in the same meeting you were in i know. >> al: i know. i didn't mean who you thought, i mean you out there. those of you out of state, who do you think? >> cris: okay. >> al: we'll give you the answer in a minute. there will be a door prize as well. third down and nine with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter. bengals five wide and the pass is a little under thrown but coming back to make the catch at 24 even though the cardinals say no is colin lockette, official comes in to say yes.
8:04 pm
>> cris: boy, jason campbell got his arm hit, just as that ball was thrown and that ball is on the ground. that ball is an incomplete pass. >> al: they don't get it off so we'll have a little challenge here. >> referee: arizona is challenging the ruling on the field that the pass wu incomplete. >> al: and they'll win it. >> cris: this will be interesting. i bet you this challenge takes not very long at all because now new york is going to take a look at it. dean blandino is going to see the back end of this ball. >> al: right. >> cris: he is going to say, just tell him let's go back and play football. >> al: there's no reason this shouldn't be overturned in about four seconds. >> cris: let's clock it under the hood. >> al: in the meantime to keep you entertained and informed,
8:05 pm
which is our job they tell us, the other guy would be -- and look at the post season by the way, yep, mr. peyton manning. first three years in indianapolis, got them to the playoffs twice, 0- 2. andy has gotten them there three times, 0-3. but the numbers are remarkably similar. >> cris: people get frustrated ba they haven't won a playoff game, but they haven't been to any playoff games. as my friend terry bradshaw used to say, he's just a young-en. >> referee: after reviewing the play, ball hit the ground it's an incomplete pass. ball will be placed at the 34 yard line. it is fourth down. arizona has used their final and second challenge. they're out of challenges. >> cris: i think marvin was over there. he wasn't frustrated at the call.
8:06 pm
he's frustrated his offense didn't get up there fast enough to get the play off. >> al: missed it by about a second. >> cris: uh-huh. >> al: so a 52 yard field goal attempt is forthcoming by one quinn sharp. mike nugent is their kicker. would be a major upset if sharp wound up with the job. it would be 51 yards officially and the kick is good, just inside that left up right. >> cris: boy, that feels good. talking about the weight of the world as a backup kicker. you only get a couple of opportunities. and that was a bomb. he hit that a long way. >> al: 19-13, 5:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.

powell will run it back, not very far, slips and falls at the 16. >> michele: i'm with andrew whitworth who is a big fan of andy dalton. he said what makes him special is his character. physically what are his gifts that are paying off right now. >> really a couple things for him. he is really a patient quarterback. he understands the game. his knowledge is unbelievable. even as a rookie, he was good at being able to put us in the right situation. that's one of his greatest talents. the patience he has and his stubbornness. all the people around the country who tells him he's not good, he still remains the same. we talked about the offense last night. we wanted the game where it didn't all work out perfect. and tonight it didn't. they brought a lot of pressure and really came on with blitzes and got us off kilter and we came back from our own end zone and drove all the way down the field and scored some points.
8:09 pm
that's a good thing. that's what you want to do, bounce back. >> michele: you're a leader on this team, the question about the playoffs. you've got therein three-straight times. haven't been able to win. it's been a long drought for the bengals. how does that change this year? >> playing better and finding a way to win and working harder. you see it every year in the playoffs. not necessarily the team that was the highest rated or had the best stats, it's the team that makes the huge plays, just has some kind of special will to win. that's what it will take for us, a special will to win. we have a long way to get there but we have the right guys to do it. >> michele: you need a healthy geno atkins. how is he coming along back from injury? >> he has special things. his power and his strength and speed is really special. from the day he was a rook kirks i could tell he was going to be special. we need him back. we need him full strength. he sets the tone for our defense. and it will be important for us to stay healthy.
8:10 pm
we've seen the last couple years, one guy you can lose can make a big deal. >> michele: andrew, thank you. >> thank you all so much. >> al: thank you, michele. the swing pass taken by parmalee. >> cris: one thing about andrew whitworth that i really admire, he is a leader and all that sort of stuff, but last year they really needed him to move to guard and it probably hurt his chances to go back to the pro bowl because he had been there as a tackle, but he knew it was in the best interest of the team. he went and played right guard, let anthony collins come in and play left tackle. that's what leadership really is. making sacrifices for the betterment of the team and he showed that last year. >> al: third and eight, thomas on the run and skips one incomplete to make it fourth down. >> cris: this is to that point
8:11 pm
in the game it gets to be a little dangerous to play quarterback because defensive coordinators always want to dial up a few blitzes and take a few shots and what difference does it make. quarterbacks are usually undersiege at this point. >> al: zastudil punts. collins collects it at the 41 and down he goes at the 43 yard line. >> cris: we talked about what a big hitter deone bucannon is a little bit tonight. coming up and making a good tackle on the outside. here he is coming off the edge on a blitz. that's the kind of player he's going to be. he'll be down in that box. he'll be playing a lot of linebacker in the nickel situations. you'll really see him this year lined up all over the place. then when tyronn matthew comes back, it will be a very dynamic

group in the secondary. >> al: now that hays is pointing out to me, he was a high school letterman in golf. >> cris: deone? >> al: yeah. >> cris: how about that? >> al: we are deep in the well at the moment. jeremy hill takes the ball out to the 47 yard line. matthew is the great-looking safety. here is working out before the game. still has the brace on the left knee. was hoping to play tonight but getting ready to hopefully play on opening day is t.j. johnson is the injured cincinnati bengal. >> cris: that young man, of course, well chronicled. had to sit out a year at lsu. drafted in the third round. to watch what he can do, it's a
8:13 pm
new breed of safety. yeah, they can play back and play the middle of the field. yeah, they can come down and make big tackles, but he essentially was their slot corner. he would come down and play man-to-man coverage against wide receivers in the slot and that was you just don't see many like him. you know, it's pretty special player. hope he comes back real soon. >> al: the injured player, t.j. johnson, first year player out of south carolina, drafted in the seventh round last year. so the bengals with three injuries of significance here in the fourth quarter. >> cris: right here. t.j. johnson. and i think deone bucannon right there on the back of his knee. you just see it.
8:14 pm
it's a hustle play by bucannon. t.j. johnson in so way able to protect himself in this situation. >> al: unfortunately for the third time in this fourth quarter, marvin lewis has watched a cart come out to take one of his guys back to the locker room. >> cris: always a fine line, isn't it, al, you want to get your team ready but you're trying to get to opening day as healthy as you possibly can. it's the reason you won't see any of the starters playing in that fourth preseason game. >> al: go ask jeff fisher about that today, huh? >> cris: sick for sam bradford. >> al: rams' coach losing bradford for the season. >> cris: it was interesting talking to carson palmer about bruce arians. he said it was a culture shock around here when bruce arians came in. you know, ken whisenhunt, we all had great relationships with him. but with bruce, he's a grinder. it's his way or the highway and guys didn't really want to hear

it in the beginning. by the time they started buying in, what they win 7 of the last 9, something like that, went on a great roll at the end of the season, beat seattle in seattle and he is not afraid. he said there's a big difference between criticism and coaching. i coach. they took it as criticism. >> al: get a full back. second and four. fighting his way for a first down is jeremy hill. cincinnati, one thing about their schedule when you look at it. is they have to get off to a good start and have a good first half of the season. they'll open up at baltimore. the bye week comes early. the key thing on their schedule, five of the last seven games are on the road. so a lot of home games early and lot of road games late.
8:16 pm
there it is and they'll end the season in pittsburgh. their home games, two of those five will be pittsburgh and denver. nice hole here. there goes hill for a first down. stays in bounds to keep the clock rolling along as we'll go to the two-minute warning. so cincinnati on the move, chewing up the clock with two minutes to go, it's the bengals leading arizona. 19-13 on "sunday night football."

most of the damage. the biggest quake in the bay area in 205 years, you might recall the last earthquake was at 1989 quake at 6.9, this was 6.0. it hit at 3:20 a.m., it woke a lot of people up. it was between napa and american canyon. you can see it was actually west of both cities a few miles from the napa county airport. nearly everyone injured was taken to napa's queen of the valley medical center. this hospital was well prepared. we can say that. doctors and nurses and staff treated 172 patients. seven had fractures of some sort. most injuries were minor. one patient remains in critical condition tonight. in addition a 13-year-old boy critically hurt when his chimney collapsed on him. he was air lifted to uc davis medical center. >> at least 33 buildings declared unsafe, the red tagged most of the buildings are in downtown napa. some businesses have put up
