i'll do a shoutout to chevy's restaurant. they let us have dinner on the promise we'd come back and pay tomorrow. >> police hope they are one step closer to a man who kidnapped and robbed a walnut creek woman earlier in the week. in is a man who forced her to drive him to bank of america and drain her bank account. police hope someone will recognize him even though he's covered with a straw hat over his face. the woman was shaken up but thankfully not hurt. >> a high school coach from south san francisco under arrest accused of taking advantage of a 15-year-old student. officers say mark turner, a football coach and security officer at el camino high committed lewd acts against a girl two months ago.

it did not happen on campus or during school hours. >> a judge involved in the rate case of pg&e has been reassigned. the judge was removed after e-mail surfaced indicating pg&e wanted this particular judge to handle this case the active judge took him off the case as a precaution. >> it is 4:37. officials expected to be standing room only at the fire committee meeting as they discuss the status of the chief. the fire commission has data it shows in august it took ambulances more than 20 minutes to respond to nearly 400 calls for life threatening emergency.

the commissioner acknowledges there's a problem with response time but said it's something she's working to correct. >> yesterday a san mateo county judge ruled that they must unlock the small gate that leads to a public beach just south of half moon bay. the property was bought in 1989 for $32. the billionaire venture capitalist is expected to appeal that decision. he said he feels he's being extorted by the surf riders club. >> watch the currents. there's strong water out there.

we're getting some rain! even though my windshield wipers, i should have replaced them. the good news is we're getting a lot more rain we thought we were going to receive. some people's iphone showed up mostly cloudy for today and didn't know this was coming in. it's so the storm is moving in right on cue. as we head throughout the morning hours, we are going to accumulate some generous total and so you, 3/4 of an inch already came down and in the south bay today we could pick up half an inch of rain. i'm going to show you now why.

you a quick update to the story you had. we're here on california street where you see there's still a fire department presence here. just a few minutes ago, i saw two, three people gearing up in. >> at least one of the haz-mat members go inside. we understand two bodies that were discovered last night. i also smoke quickly with a moun. the fire department had indicated it wouldn't be until maybe 6:30 or so when the scene would be completely clear. it's a very complicated scene. it started off as a report of a gas leak but then police finding two bodies here last night. there a nearby community center

air strikes in iraq. herb goodell was captured while hiking in the mountains on sunday and beheaded. his algerian companions were let go. >> the situation in syria is affecting the markets abroad and right here at home as well. mary thompson is live with the details this morning. >> good morning. futures are pointing to a higher open on wall street as stocks look to build on the strong rally. the nasdaq having its best day in almost two months, all of this thanks to the housing data and positive comments from the federal reserve and the european central bank. the nasdaq rose 47 points to close at 4555, helping to end a three-day losing streak that was due in part to concerns about

>> i want to talk about this storm system because it's really impressive. i was watching it all day yesterday just in awe because it's early to see such a well-defined system. you can see the center of low pressure is right here in the gulf of alaska. this is bringing in that front producing rainfall right here in the bay area. that looks like a classic winter storm. look at the front as it comes in. just beautiful. can you see that steady stream of moisture. we're getting heavier pockets up in marin county. overall this is what we want to see. we need storm systems like this to help us get out of the drought. this is not going to bust the drought but it's a good start to our rainy season. as we head throughout the day today, the showers are going to cancel that chance around 11:00 a.m. to 12. but take a look at this. we still haven't had the most

impact here in the south bay. i can show you now what's headed our way. it's heavy rainfall. it's going to last for about three hours and then start to move out. this is what's so fascinating about this storm system. it is going to tap into sub t p trop. you really want to take it easy out there. after the ground is already saturated, the wind is going to pick up so we do have a chance for downed trees later on as well. we're going to be watching that for you all day long. otherwise your temperatures are pretty comfortable. we'll see the 70s and 60s. i wouldn't be surprised to see a pop-up storm. as we head throughout the rest of the week, into your looks

big night tonight. one of the most famous yankees will say farewell. >> one of the all time favorites, derek jeter. he will play his last home game in new york. the yankees out of playoff contention. jeter is finally hanging them up. tickets to tonight's game are not actually cheap. according to stub hub, tonight's cheapest ticket is $249. that would be for the bleacher's seats. >> jeter has done a farewell tour visiting stadium across the league. at each spot he received a farewell gift, including a vacation and cowboy boots.
