and a good tuesday morning. it's 4:30 a.m. i'm sam brock. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. lots to get to this morning. let's first check that forecast with christina loren. >> good morning, laura and sam and everybody at home. we have just a little bit of fog out there. as we head throughout your afternoon, temperatures are going to be noticeably cooler, and a lot of people are looking forward to that cooler weather. so we've got a lot to go over this morning, including a shower chance for the end of next week.

so stick around. we'll talk about that. let's welcome in mike inouye. >> well, good, except i shouldn't have showered last week, then, that was my weekly. out of the tri-valley we're looking at dublin and 580 westbound. we do have our usual build, you see a steady, easy flow of traffic and no problem out of the altamont pass. you see speeds getting towards 6 60 miles an hour as a couple more cars hit the roads. >> santa clara supervisors are meeting to discuss what's being done in this county in light of

recent ebola announcements. in the meantime, doctors expect the latest ebola patient to worsen before he gets better. he told his parents he may have gotten infected while spray washing the car of a man who died. officials say thomas eric duncan is in critical condition. a thursday in spain the first person to contract the virus outside of africa. the female nurse was part of a team that treated a priest last month who had ebola in west africa. the nurse only entered the patient's room twice. the president declared stopping

ebola a top national security concern. >> we've got cdc staff that would meet a flight and make an assessment on board the flight what the condition is. >> a doctor with 50,000 units of his treatment drip drop with him. the chances of contracting ebola on a flight is very, very low. >> good to know. it's 4:33. police are hoping to catch a man who police say exposed himself to a 4-year-old girl.

bob redell joins us live outside the police department. i understand the girl said she got a pretty good look at the guy. >> reporter: apparently good enough they will provide police a description with specific details and officers have indicated they might be able to get her to meet with a sketch artist so they can put out an image to give as you better visual idea of what this man looks like. a 14-year-old girl was walking down the sidewalk on the 1600 block of bryant street. this is when a man who was following her in a blue pickup truck. when he tried again, she made eye contact and noticed that inside the truck he was exposing himself.

here's the description she provided to police, he's a white man, medium build, 30s, at the time was wearing a black v-neck t-shirt. his pickup was blue, appeared it was new. police are assigning more officers to drive around that area, especially around nearby schools and the routes that would be used by students in order to try to find this guy. recording live at palo alto police, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> prosecutors could dismiss murder charges against a gilroy doctor accused of hiring a friend to kill his wife. he was arrested in june accused of hiring david galvez to kill his wife. according to the paper, officials think galvez did it on

his own. officials found out she took out two life insurance policies on herself. >> today we could also learn more about what san bruno mayor wants to do about accusations against pg&e. the mayor is holding a news conference this morning to discuss controversial e-mails sent between pg&e and the public utilities commission. the press conference comes a day after federal prosecutors opened up an investigation into the e-mails, which some say demonstrate a too cozy relationship between those two companies. after the press conference, a judge will hold a hearing to talk about what sanctions pg&e might face. >> the san jose police force may

be getting a financial boost from the state. they have $17,000 in extra funds and they may give it to the police officers to help pay for extra officers. they say that money would go to waste because the department can't get recruits in the first place. they want the money to go to libraries so they can stay open longer to help pay for current police officers who are working overtime. >> s.f. supervisors coming to table to talk about making short-term rentals in the city legal. it would require any host to register with the city and to inform the city of san francisco how many days the space would be aren'te rented. homeowners would have to prove they live in the city more than

my next report. but first let's see what mike's analyzing because it's always changing. hi, mike. >> things are changing. i'll throw this into the report we have already planned. here in san jose, a light volume of traffic. center of your screen you see construction icons there continuing around that 880, 280 interchange. crews are just moving. even though we opened those three ramps in the last week, we still have construction in the area. the project is not done until well into next year. farther up 880 northbound right around the coliseum, just got word of a crash involving three vehicles and blocking at least one lane, the slow lane. i'll bring you more update on the next report. right now i want to show you the san mateo bring, a smooth drive over to the peninsula. a low glow nor tfor the golden bridge. we'll watch as conditions

at&t has told about 1,600 customers an employee got unauthorized access to their personal data this summer. reports say they may have seen their social security and

driver's license numbers. the employee has since been fired. >> and stocks slipped on monday and light volume. investors are a bit wary after earnings this week. we get data on consumer credit this afternoon and earnings from yum brands, the parent of pizza hut, taco bell and kfc. the dow falling and the nasdaq down 20 to 4454. and microsoft is among a group of tech firms pledging to protect data on students. this comes a week after california enacted a landmark law restricting how companies can use information they collect about elementary through high school students, committing not to sell their data and will not provide information unless

barbara along with two other scientists invented a blue diad emitting light. >> and supreme court justices will hear a ban that addresses an inmate wearing a beard. prison officials have banned beards. officials say beards can hide prohibited items. >> a study by triple a found drivers using hands-free voice activated systems to make phone calls or change the radio system reacted slower and were more distracted. the more complex the vehicle system, the worse things got.

san jose. the golden state warriors start preseason games tonight. the first game will be at the staples center against the clippers. the team's season will begin officially on october 29th in sacramento. first home game will be november 1st against the l.a. lakers. now tomorrow night the sharks start their season at the staples center in los angeles as well. >> turn away. this next part may be a little tough to see. the kings are the reigning stanley cup champs. and you can imagine when they walk in tomorrow night, some of them may be wearing this, the official ring designed by tiffany's. trevor lewis tweeting out this picture with the ring on his hand. no word on how many diamonds are in that thing. >> you act very injured about

this thing. we don't know about the shake it off reference, i don't know where that comes from but how are the roadways looking this morning? >> sam, you know full well that's the taylor swift song. we wish we could shake this off. that is northbound 880 as you're coming up over the hill at 98, i just saw traffic completely stop in the northbound direction, that's just where the accident was reported. back and forth, they may be starting to let traffic start to flow a bit. let's look at the maps since this is a boring shot at this point, no change just yet. we're looking at the slower traffic going toward san leandro. 580 is also clear heading up

through oakland, if that's an easy option, consider that right now because of all the activity stopping traffic north heading up route 98 toward the coliseum. no problems approaching the passover toward san francisco. nice easy drive northbound. southbound without delay. we'll give you a live look at 101 in san mateo. and allen rock will do some lane shifts today. and 101 in the north bay moving very smoothly through of curves here. not a lot of fog but we did see it over the golden gate bridge. we'll see things change over the course of the morning. we'll track that as well. >> thank you, mike.
