good morning. we have a really good story to tell in the weather department. starting today the wind holds the key to the changes over the weekend. as we head throughout the weekend, we're going to see

these winds start to move offshore. for us that means a couple of different things. it's going to heat up and we're talking about elevated fire danger. we'll let you nope what's going to come up and we're still tracking ample rainfall for next week. let's check your try and see how you're doing on a friday morning. >> even on friday morning, even with dry roads, from the coliseum, bottom of your screen, we have now a slow drive all the way south in towards san leandro. look at the maps. we see from the events there, disney on ice, that's where they have the last of the construction from what i understand. they should be starting to move that any minute now. tough it out. allow yourself another 15

minutes. just the tinniest build coming out of south bay. >> for the third time this week, a man has exposed himself, this time to a woman in her 20s. this follows two cases earlier this week, both just blocks away from an all-girls private school. on wednesday police released a sketch of the man in those two cases. they have not released a sketch of the man in yesterday's case. all three of these occurrences, a white man in the vehicle exposing themselves but the vehicles have been different each time. >> prosecutors say the mother of teen-ager who provided alcohol

for a party should pay the penalty for the death of a teen-ager. 17-year-old jason park was at that party and told someone he was too drunk to drive so gave his keys to someone else. another friend drove him home who was drunk and crashed into a tree. >> the enterovirus -- there's no

vaccine available yet and doctors say that virus is especially active in the fall months. this in case in santa clara brings the total number in the bay area to six. it's been confirmed in almeida, contra costa and san mateo. it's been linked to hundreds of severe illnesses recently. >> president obama is in the bay area today. nanet nanette? >> reporter: president obama is expected to arrive here later this afternoon around 3:00, then head to a a fund-raiser in san

dog, warren g are performing. >> there are four high school football games this weekend. santa clara versus wilcox, followed by oak grove against jesuit and tomorrow oakdale. all kinds of action for local teams in the big nfl stadium. that's cool. >> let's see what the weather will be this weekend. >> it's going to be hot this weekend. how cool is that that the local high schools here in the bay area get to step on the field and actually play where the great 49ers play. mike is tracking something that might catch you off guard this morning. what won't catch you off guard is the fog. we're getting into that time of

year and we'll have a lot of it at the immediate coast this morning. a beautiful, beautiful afternoon, temperatures mostly in the 70s and 80s and then we'll take you through some big time changes so cool to comfy for today. as we get into this weekend we're going to get into those dry offshore winds. but we're also going to get some really big waves at the beach. as we get into next week, our pattern changes entirely so we're going to go into that. in my next report i'll show you when the first rain drops arrive in the bay area. we're looking at that as early as tuesday. as promised, good friend of mine, especially on a friday, here's mike inouye. >> i always watch the getaway traffic, getting away from the studio. the first report shows you all the traffic backed up. the flashing lights are chp

cruisers. they should be moving trucks and clear i lane, we don't see it yet. starting to move. we do still see that slower drive from the coliseum all the way down but loosening up around the approach to davis street. it does look like the lanes are starting to clear from the overnight road crews. the rest of the map looks pretty smooth across the bay bridge, no problem across the richmond san rafael bridge. and a smooth drive heading down except for a crash that's clearing to the shoulder southbound 101, there's a little span there that goes over some water but it is officially a bridge. the golden gate bridge moves very smoothly as well. a goodiesy drive right now between the north bay and the city itself. westbound 5a, out of the

futures are lower after the market got rocked yesterday over concerns about the global economic weakness, concerns about ebola and the dow suffered its worst point drop in more than a year. as for what may move trading today, look for data this morning on prices on imported goods the dow dropping 339 points, the nasdaq down 90. and google is thinking big. reports say the company will launch a new smartphone later this month. it's code named shamu and has a 5.6 inch screen. and amazon is reportedly planning to open its first physical store in new york city. that will be just in time for the holiday season and will be on west 34th street, a block away from the macy's store in harold's square. people will be able to make

returns and exchanges and pick up online orders and they may use that to get the new kindle and smartphone. >> i don't know how your marine analogy is today but you can tell if there's going to be clear skies for the blue angels. >> yeah, and it's all on porpoise. kris knows i like to throw that one out once in a while. >> we're starting out at 54 in the north bay. as we head throughout your morning hours, you're going to notice plenty of fog at the immediate coast. you can see that here over the

castro district this morning. coastal drizzle a possibility as we head over the next couple of hours. the fog is going to burn off before noon but this is our last mild day. that heat will come on strong over the weekend and just as fast as we heat you up, we're going to drop thos temperatures getting to the beginning of next week. the sun will set tonight at 6:42. our days are getting shorter and instead of getting cooler as a result of that, our temperatures are going to climb. that means you're going to get great beach weather but do watch out for rip currents at our local beaches. we're talking about 11-foot waves. here is the real weather story. i want to make you a aware of. hot this weekend, by tuesday the temperatures fall and we're talking about our first showers, moving through san francisco. today 85 up to 91 tomorrow,

we'll be at 95 on sunday. and then those numbers crash. most of this rain is going to come in for the end of next week but we are still tracking some really, really rich totals. i'm going to let you know how that typhoon can actually bring in some moisture right here into the bay area. plus we are track being a powerful storm, talking about vongfong. >> new this morning there is no end in sight for the pro-democracy protest in hong kong, now lasting for almost two weeks. talks collapsed today. the government says the protesters were hampering negotiations by calling for heavier negotiations.

>> and now to the latest in the ebola outbreak. workers say they are seeing an influx of new cases in guinea. doctors without borders say they received 22 patients on monday in guinea's capital city. doctors a to west africa where efforts are under way to test a possible ebola vaccine. . >> and a passenger joke about ebola created this chaotic scene on the u.s. airways plane. hazardous materials crews boarded that flight from philadelphia after it landed in the dominican republic. during the flight a passenger

sneezed and then told everyone he had ebola. the airline said it followed cdc guidelines for potential health issues. the man pulled off the flight does not have ebola. the other passengers were stuck on the plan for two hours. >> there's practical jokes and then there's just stupid and i think that would qualify as stupid. >> we're going to tell you which singer could be in line to sing at the super bowl halftime show. >> and folks are not necessarily sing bug they're talking about this slowdown. you see crews on the move, freeing up another lane or two. we'll talk about the slowdown we see for the nimitz.
