was in critical care and could not recover. she is the second student who died as a result of the high school gunman. >> we are devastated by this
5:03 am
senseless tragedy. gia is our beautiful daughter and words cannot express how much we will miss her. we've made the decision to donate gia's organs so that others may benefit. our daughter was loving and kind and this gift honors her life. and now that could impact the national gun control debate. >> thank you very much, kris.
5:04 am
>> clean-up is under way this morning, this after a fire at a yamaha repair shot. >> reporter: good morning, sam. just tough going for firefighters. for now the gp sports watercraft and cycle shot is boarded up behind me in the aftermath of sundays sunday's fire, sending thick, black smoke into the air. dozens of firefighters responded but by the time they arrived, two-thirds of the building was already involved in flames. complicating matters, the bars on the windows prevented access to the inside of the shop. crews had to remove the bars first and as if that wasn't enough, they faced enough challenge. >> the closest fire hydrant is
5:05 am
about a thousand feet from here. we called a second alarm immediately and we were able to get the fire out. >> up to 70 motor cycles were destroyed. no one was inside at the time of the fire. no injuries were reported. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. chief williams doesn't believe that arson is suspected at this time but they will look into whether old electrical wiring may have played a role in the start of the fire. >> thank you very much. >> you notice nanette bundled up out there. i thought it was crisp outside. >> it is a little chilly. definitely started to see that reflected in our daytime highs as well. our days are getting shorter. guess what? this sunday you get to sleep in for one extra hour. my gift for you.

daylight saving time. 48 in san jose. good morning to you, san martin. get out a coat. it is chilly out there. we are going to hit the coolest point of the day. i wanted to show you pacifica where the fog is settling in. we'll see a cloudy start making way to a beautiful, sunny finish. scott mcgrew is back, that makes things sunny as well. it always is nice to have the band back together. mike inouye, what are you the drummer? i'm the tambourine, we all know that. >> i'm the triangle, so you have more rhythm than i do. all the cash lanes have opened. look at your map and we'll show you a clearer view and the approach for your speed, no issues. we have overnight road crews, still a typical spot, no major slowings there.
5:07 am
a little slowing heading eastbound. but more of the issue is westbound through antioch. a traditional slowdown at this time of day at 5:00, we typically see the slowing. a smooth dry for the rest of your bay night. the 58 coming -- 580 coming offer the altamont pass. you have company for that portion. back to you. >> changes could be coming to palo alto's shuttle program and they wouldn't come cheap. the city council considering expanding the service, doubling the frequency of the cross-town shuttles. it would introduce a fourth
5:08 am
round. that would also serve employees from the west bay park. it would cost about $400,000 a year. >> on your monday, a possible case of road rage in oakland ends in the death of a mother of four kids. now officers looking for the gunman. >> plus, who exactly is in charge of the internet and who do we not want to have in charge of the internet? we'll take a look.

a live look outside right now. obviously the approach to the bay bridge, everything all lit up and sparkling on this monday. some inspiration to get you out of bed. >> we could use it this morning. investigators need your help finding whoever shot and killed a mother of four, possibly in a case of road raj. it happened in oakland on rossmore avenue, just east of 880. police say the woman was on her way home from the grocery store. >> reporter: that's right, laura. and it leads many people
5:12 am
thinking this could have happened to anyone. it's a tragic and unfortunate case because police say a 30-year-old woman was the victim of road rage and now police are working to release a suspect vehicle description, although they're still working on telling us why they believe this was a road rage incident. it happened yesterday at about 4:00 in the afternoon. the victim was in her vehicle, a black toyota camry with her husband. apparently they had gone shopping and were on their way home when an angry driver began shooting at them. her husband drove a short distance to their home where police responded to the shooting and confirmed her death. she leaves behind four children, the youngest, a 1 1/2-year-old. police are offering a reward

5:15 am
committee is not in charge of? it's not in charge of the internet. it wants to be in charge of the internet. we've seen this fight before. generally speaking america does not want any government body, but particularly the u.n. in charge of the internet. that would give countries with dubious records of free speech with how the internet is managed. >> so congress is in fact also not in charge of the internet. >> blessedly not congress either. >> good to know. >> also a big welcome back to christina. all revived, probably got to sleep in a little bit. >> but we weren't together. i got to put that on the record right now. we are going to be so spoiled. we have halloween. halloween finally here as we get into this friday. i have to tell you as you ghouls

5:17 am
