questions. somebody found the body of a 20-year-old man just hours after the fraternity hosted a party. bob, what are police saying about the circumstances of the man's death? >> reporter: police are calling the death suspicious but they're not ruling out that the young man was drinking or using drugs here. the man was 20 years old. someone found him unconscious inside the front fromaternity. he was declared dead on the scene by emergency responders. he never made the trip to the hospital. authorities will only say he did not live in the house, nor did he attend college here at cal. >> thank you very much, bob. >> it's 5:301 right now. breaking news, a suicide bomber

can't see where you're going. there's a lot of fog out there, christin christina. >> and another morning where you don't want to give yourself a reason to get out as soon as possible. maybe you want that extra cup of coffee this morning to be as alert as possible. it's a widespread event and it going to get worse as the sun comes up over the course of the next hour and a half. we're working with two miles of visibility in santa rosa, half a mile -- half moon bay, you want to take it easy if you're driving up and down the coast this morning. some of the fog is situated about 100 feet to 200 feet this morning. wherever you're travel, just count on a slow drive this morning.

daly city, we don't typically see it in san jose. but just about five minutes ago, you were socked in in this area. from gilroy to san martin, it really bad this morning. the fog will burn off on the peninsula by right around 12:00 to 1:00. because we're starting out so mild, temperatures will climb easily into the mid 70. we've got rain on the way. we'll talk about that coming up. first we want to check on your drive and see how that fog is impacting commuters. mike knows better than anyone. >> i left the house early, got here at the same time because i had to drive slower through some of the areas. that meant i had to drive the speed limit. that's between you and me folks. there's this blanket of low

clouds we talked about on friday. look at the san mateo bridge. the cloud are starting to creep in. for a while we couldn't see the high rise section, now we're losing a little visibility on the flat section. there is fog in patches that we just showed you. so keep that in mind. typically flow coming out of the tri-valley. no real issues other than that fog. we'll show you the north bay and here on the peninsula we see flashing lights of the ikea parking lot and the sign. we're having trouble seeing 101. there as a shot of it there. visible down to a quarter mile along that corridor. >> it is now 5:19 on your monday. this week could be a pivotal one for suspended nfl running back adrian peterson. he pleaded no contest to

misdemeanor assault charges after being accused of felony child abuse charges. the union is threatening to filed a griefs and as early as today against the league if peterson is not reinstated because his court case has been resolved. the nfl must decide in peterson will face more punishment. so far the league will only say it's trying to move quickly to decide its fate. >> and the nation's immigration crisis has seen tens of thousands of people cross u.s./mexico border, many of them children crossing alone. the investigative team has been uncoffering the reality behind the current immigration crisis. tonight our team takes you behind the scenes where children as young as 10 years old flee violence in central america alone. accord together u.s. border patrol, almost 52,000

ground looking for clues to what caused a plane to crash. >> reporter: there's rough train and it's private property. investigators worked hard to recover the victims so they wouldn't have the spend the night at the crash site. the plane took off out of gilroy and failed to reach the destination as planned. they sent a search party and found the plane crashed. the pilot and his passenger were both killed. we talked with pilots at the same airport where that plane took off. >> i know, yeah. it's kind of hard, you know, to -- i mean, especially having a passenger and you have a responsibility.

>> the plane is a 1950s, sesay 140 -- cessna 140a. they had to use four wheel drive vehicles to access the site but the wreckage was recovered. hopefully the road to answers won't be too terribly wrong. >> thank you very much, kris. it is 5:32. we're expected to learn new details today about a san hope say stabbing. it happened around 2:30 yesterday afternoon. police have been unable to give more information because computers have been shut down for maintenance checks. the victim has been taken to the

season. we have a gorgeous day coming your way. you just have to fight through the thick fog. it's going to be kind of a battle to get to work this morning, especially on the east shore where mike is tracking a couple of crashes. this is it, last warm day, you might be turning on your heaters tomorrow. >> i think it was just a construction crew but there is a crash farther north. i say might be because this shot is a little blurry. the shot, almost directly across, can't make out these vehicles. it does look like a cruiser but

death is leaving police with many unanswered questions this morning. the body of a man was found yesterday on ban craft. -- bancroft. the house hosted a big party just hours before. >> reporter: that's why police are looking into the possibility about whether this young man had jofr done it the night before. while they are saying his death is suspicious, they are investigating whether he drank too much or overdosed on drugs. he was just 20 years old, found yesterday inside the fraternity house. he never recovered for a trip to the hospital, was declared dead here on the scene. police know who he is. they just haven't released that

info. they say he did not live in the house and did not attend cal. bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thank you, bob. >> two american men held captive are back in the united states this morning. north korean media reported that miller tore up his visa and demanded asylum. he was sentenced to six years in prison but unexpectedly released on saturday. he was released alongside seattle resident kenneth bae. bae was in north korea as a missionary, spent two years in prison after reportedly preaching against and trying to overthrow the government. his sister said he's in surprisingly good condition and bears no ill will toward north korea. >> cell phone video shows an

officer's car covered in flames. the dash board and front seat were burned to a crisp. it happened in philadelphia when a hit-and-run driver t-boned the officer's car. 17-year-old volunteer firefighter heard the crash nearby. he and a neighborhood sprang in action, pulling him out just before the car burst in flame. >> me and another guy, he said he couldn't feel his legs so we said we're going to have to drag you through the window and he was ready for it. >> chambers suffered minor injuries. the officer, meanwhile, is in the hospital but he's expected to be okay. >> amazing. 5:30 right now on your monday morning. the president in china talking to world leaders about the economy. we are live in washington with the very latest on his trip overseas.

the san francisco zoo show it is fully functioning. the manual shutoff switch on the hydraulic door on the gorilla enclosure was not pressed in time to save that baby gorilla. she was crushed to death friday as it was closing. >> 5:50 right now, moving on to decision 2014. almost one week later, we still don't know who the next mayor of san jose will be. the difference is about 36 votes but the county says it still has 14,000 provisional ballots to count. it could take as long as a week to count thos ballots. >> livermore police may soon be fitted for a new crime fighting tool. they are meeting to discuss
